Chapter 123 Part 123

Chapter 123 Part 123
Asher

Eden was on the bed and he told her how to position herself so he could do an examination. The doctor pushed her knees apart and Asher’s face paled.

“Holy shit!” he exclaimed, and turned around.

“You’re crowning, Eden. This baby is coming right now.” The doctor chuckled, and glanced at Asher over his shoulder. “Don’t worry, most first time dads freak out when they see this part, but you put that baby in there, there’s no room for shock now.”

“Did you look at my vajajay?” Eden propped herself up on her elbows.

“I didn’t mean to! Trust me! I never wanted to see that!” he said. “And I most definitely did not put that baby in there!”

“He’s my brother,” Eden said, and gritted her teeth.

“You can stand next to her, hold her hand, she’s going to need to push,” the doctor said.

Asher walked sideways toward Eden, averting his eyes, and only turned around when she grabbed his arm. He held her hand, and gave her a smile. “You can do this, Eden.”

“I need you to push slowly,” the doctor said.

Eden gritted her teeth, and started to push. The doctor smiled, and kept telling her what to do when. Asher didn’t look anywhere but at her face, already knowing that he was probably scarred for life after what he saw.

Eden sagged back against the bed, and Asher turned his head when the baby cried. “Congratulations, Eden. You have a beautiful, healthy, baby girl.”

The nurse wrapped her in a white blanket, then she was placed in Eden’s arms. Asher wiped his eyes and Eden’s tears knew no end. His thumb grazed over the baby’s head, and he couldn’t stop smiling.

“She’s perfect, Eden.”

“Genesis Fitzgerald McRoy,” Eden said with a smile. “Can you please call Winchester now, and tell him that his daughter is here?”

“Of course,” Asher said. He stepped out into the hallway and pulled his phone from his pocket. He dialed Winchester’s number and he answered on the second ring.

“Eden’s not answering her phone! Is everything okay?”

“We’re at the hospital. Your daughter is healthy, and doing well,” Asher said.

“I missed her birth? I missed it? Why didn’t you call me?”

“I was too busy holding Eden’s hand as she pushed that baby out! Why didn’t you answer when Eden called?”

“I went to go see my mother,” Winchester said.

“Well, get your ass to the hospital. She’s in room 4, in the maternity ward.”

Asher ended the call, irritated with Winchester. He dialed his father’s number next, and smiled.

“Asher.”

“We’re at the hospital. Eden went into labor. They’re both fine and doing well.”

“I’ll be there in a few minutes. You took her bag, right?”

“Yeah, Pops, I took her bag,” Asher said.

“I’ll let your brothers know.” Thomas ended the call, and Asher walked back into Eden’s room. The doctor was still busy between her legs, and he quickly moved to stand next to her. The nurse was weighing the baby, taking measurements, and cleaning her up.

“Did you get him?”

“He’s on his way. Idiot was with his mother, and no, I don’t know why. Pops is on his way too,” Asher said. “You did great, Eden. I’m so proud of you.”

“I’m glad I wasn’t alone.”

“You’ll never be alone in this family, I promise.”

When the doctor finished with Eden, he went over to the baby, checked the notes the nurse had made, and after a few more minutes, brought the baby over to the bed.

“Would you like to hold your niece?” he asked Asher.

“Yes, Sir.”

He sat down in the guest chair, and looked down at Genesis. “You are loved, little lady. Welcome to the world. You’re going to achieve greatness, be smart, and make wise choices. You’re not going to let anyone walk over you, you’ve got uncles with guns to make sure of that .”

Eden chuckled as Asher spoke to the baby, and it wasn’t long before the arrival of Winchester, along with the rest of the Fitzgerald men, could be heard from down the hall.

It was a beautiful moment when Winchester held his daughter for the first time. He cried openly as he kissed Eden and then Genesis. Thomas closed his eyes and prayed when he held her, and Asher leaned against the wall, taking it all in.

He wanted that. A wife and a baby. Raising the boys brought him happiness, but they’d go off to college in a few years. He wanted that whole package. Maybe it was time he seriously considered dating.

Colt, Dylan, and Finn had their turn, and Colt told Genesis about the ravine where they would hide all the bodies of the boys who came calling for her. Asher could only shake his head.

“Now will you marry me?” Winchester asked Eden.

“Yes,” Eden said, and laughed when he took a ring from his pocket, and slid it onto her finger.

“Finally!” Dylan said, and slapped Winchester’s back. “If I have to listen to this man gripe about you not settling down with him for one more day, I would have taken him to the ravine myself.”

“You said you were on my side,” Winchester said.

“I only said that to get you to shut up. I’m always on Eden’s side, we all are.”

“Thanks, brother.” Winchester’s sarcasm had them all chuckling, and at that moment, the nurse returned.

“You can all come back at visiting time tonight. She needs to rest, and so does the baby,” she said.

“We’ll be back tonight,” Asher said, and kissed Eden’s forehead. “Let me know if you need anything.”

Everyone said their goodbyes, and left Winchester, Eden, and Genesis in her room. It was almost time to pick up the boys, and he knew they’d be bouncing around the house until they could also meet Genesis later on. He drove to the high school, and waited for them in the parking lot. They’d know something was up since they normally took the bus from school.
