17 ELIJAH

She said yes.

Alicia Star has accepted my proposal to be my wife and the mother of my child, and I can't contain the happiness she has given me at this moment. Alicia has become so special and important to me that she's the only one capable of sending shivers down my spine with just a look.

I watch her exit her house with a large travel suitcase. As soon as she accepted my proposal, I begged her to move in with me, taking advantage of the fact that her father is in the hospital recovering from his illness. Harold rushed to her and took her suitcase before loading it into the car. I approach Alicia with determined steps, taking her face in my hands and planting a kiss on her lips. Alicia is dressed in denim shorts and an oversized crop sweater that reaches halfway to her abdomen.

"You make me the happiest man on Earth."

"I hope you haven't fallen in love with me, Elijah," she speaks with a teasing smile. "Because I can break your heart."

"Will you break my heart?" I look at her incredulously.

"Yes."

"Do you want to know what I'm going to break?"

"I'm all ears," she smirks.

"That beautiful and delicious ass of yours." I give her a playful spank, making her flinch. "And I won't get tired of making you mine over and over again."

I see her bite her lower lip, and my desire stirs within my pants. So, I take her hand and place it on my crotch.

"This is how hot you make me, Alicia. Only you can get my cock hard just by biting your lips." I run my finger over her lips, and without her expecting it, I slip it into her mouth.

Alicia quickly responds, starting to suck on it, and all I can do is imagine that she's sucking my cock.

"We should stop giving Harold a show," Alicia whispers, her cheeks flushing.

"Agreed. That way, everyone will know that you are only mine, exclusively mine, my property."

"Elijah, I am not an object. I want you to treat me like a human being."

Alicia moves away from me, but I quickly pull her back. I didn't want her to be far from me under any circumstances.

"All right, love, but don't go too far from me, okay?" I pout, but I quickly correct myself.

"I promise," she says, wrapping her arms around my shoulders. "But first, you're going to do something for me."

"Anything," I reply, burying my face in her neck and planting kisses all over.

"We're going to see my father."

"Sounds good. That way, I can tell him I'm stealing his daughter."

"You're not going to tell my father that." Alicia raises an eyebrow.

"Why not?"

"Because it's too soon."

"Too soon for what?"

"To tell him we're together. I want to ease him into the idea."

A smile forms on my face.

"That sounded delicious."

"Now, stop being so horny and let's get in the car because Harold is waiting."

We separate, and I open the car door for her to get in. Then, I sit down beside her.

"Good morning, Miss Morgan," Harold greets her with seriousness.

"Miss Morgan?" Alicia raises an eyebrow.

"For all my workers, since you're my wife."

"Even the ones at the club?"

"Not yet."

"Please don't tell them," she pleads.

"Why not? Sooner or later, they'll find out."

"Because I don't want them to see me as a gold digger. Besides, I'd like to keep working."

"No." I shake my head repeatedly. "You won't work at the club, and certainly not at the restaurant."

"Why not?" She exclaims.

"Alicia, you're my wife, and money is the last thing you'll ever lack. What will people think when they see you working? That I can't support you? You won't work, and that's not up for discussion."

"Elijah, no one will think that. It's the 21st century, and women can do things on their own. Besides, I don't want to feel like just another ornament in the house."

"Fine, we'll discuss this later," I assure her.

"I don't think so," she smiles.

It was at that moment I understood that she would be my damn downfall, and I was starting to like it. Alicia being the queen of the mafia with her stubborn character would be perfect. However, there's a small detail that bothers me: I don't want him to know about her. The mere thought of him hurting her sends shivers down my spine. If he lays a finger on her, he'll be doomed. I'll kill him and break every single bone in his body. Alicia has become my obsession in such a short time that I can't stand the thought of anyone else seeing her. That's why I don't want her to keep working at the club, especially because of that guy named Arthur.

I look at her, and she gazes out the window, enjoying the cityscape. The light falls perfectly on her pale skin, and her red hair shines brightly. A slight smile forms on my face.

Alicia is so beautiful that I'm afraid of tarnishing her. I just want to be with her, locked away in the tallest tower of the castle, so that no one else can admire her. I lean in beside her and take her by the waist to sit her on my lap. Alicia lets out a small scream and then bursts into laughter.

"What have you done to me?" she murmurs. "You want me so badly."

"Calm down a bit," I reply. "I'm here for you whenever you want."

"Don't fall in love with me," I jest, just as she did before.

"Falling in love isn't the worst case," she assures.

"What's the worst, then?" I ask curiously, and she looks at me with a smile.

"Obsession."

Alicia takes my cheeks in her hands and kisses me, and I can't refuse her affection. Our lips move slowly and in sync.

"Then we'll become obsessed together," I whisper against her lips.

"Sir, we've arrived," Harold announces, and immediately, Alicia gets off my lap, leaving a significant absence.

We get out of the car, and I immediately take her hand so that everyone knows she's mine. We enter the elevator with other people and head to the VIP area of the hospital. Although Alicia doesn't know it, I've been paying for her father's treatment and stay, and I will continue to do so because I don't want my wife to suffer.

We enter the room, and her father is awake.

"Dad!" Alicia rushes into his arms. "I'm so glad you're awake!"

"My daughter," I hear the man's weak voice. "It's good to see you."

"I'm sorry I haven't come sooner, but I've been busy with work."

"Don't worry, my love," he smiles weakly, then looks in my direction. "Who is he?"

Alicia looks in my direction and smiles, then extends her hand for me to approach.

"Dad, I want you to meet Elijah Morgan."

"Pleased to meet you, sir," I extend my hand, but he simply looks at it and rejects it entirely.

"What do you intend to do with my daughter?" he responds sharply. "Alicia, is this what you've been doing? Sleeping around with men?"

I'm filled with angry rage. How can this man be so inconsiderate? Knowing that his daughter doesn't have an active social life because she's working two jobs to pay for her chemotherapy.

"Forgive him," Alicia looks at me helplessly. "He's not usually like this, but the illness caught us by surprise, and it's affected his mood." She sighs sadly. "Dad, Elijah is my boyfriend." My heart swells with pride once again. "And to continue paying for your treatment, I'm going to move in with him."

"I won't allow it," he refuses. "You're my daughter, and you should be with me."

"That's not up for discussion," she replies firmly. "You'll thank me for this in the future."

"You can't do this to me, Alicia," he starts to cry. "Don't leave me like your mother did."

"I won't abandon you, Dad. I'll come whenever I can."

"Sir, I promise we'll visit frequently," I intervene.

"Shut up, you home-wrecker! You only want to defile her virtue!"

I look at Alicia, confused, but she says nothing.

"We should leave," Alicia says, visibly upset. "I think it was a mistake coming here with you."

I nod my head, and we exit while the man continues to cry for his daughter. The enthusiasm Alicia had moments ago has disappeared completely, and right in front of me, I see her sad version.

I wrap my arm around her shoulders as we descend the elevator, and she breaks down in tears. My heart aches to hear my wife's crying, and it's a sound I never want to hear again. She should only smile and laugh with happiness because that's all she deserves.

We leave the hospital, and I'm the first to get in the car to receive her in my arms and protect her from any harm.
