16 ALICIA
The music was blaring at full volume in Gotic, and everyone inside was enjoying the club's youthful and passionate atmosphere. The varied music made everyone dance to any rhythm. I moved through the crowd with their baskets of beer and ice or champagne.
The night was bustling, and it brought in a lot of tips that I would use for my father's treatment. That reminded me that I needed to talk to Mike alone to get my share of the bet we made to make Elijah jealous.
Speaking of Elijah, I haven't seen him since the night he left my house. That, in one way or another, makes me relieved, and I can live my normal life without having to deal with his atypical jealousy. However, the audacious man has been sending flowers to Monica at work.
I'm tired of seeing how much she flaunts it, and it's not just that – the other waitresses at the restaurant are dying to meet the businessman who has stolen Monica's heart. But at the same time, there's that evil part of me that simply laughs at how foolish she looks when she brags about someone who is licking the path I walk on to avoid dirtying the sole of my shoe.
I know I sound like a damn lunatic, but that's the real situation. I have Elijah eating out of the palm of my hand, and if I snap my fingers, he'll drop her in a heartbeat, and there won't be a trace of Monica left.
"Thank you, handsome. Here's your tip!" The man I'm serving smiles at me, then hands me a $100 bill.
"Thank you very much. If you need anything, feel free to call me!"
I slip away through the crowd of people to reach the bar, where Walters is waiting for me with a new order. I pout my lips, and he simply shrugs.
"I'm sorry, Ali, but you know you're the boss's favorite!"
"Is he here?" I ask, puzzled.
"Yes, he's back from his trip, and he's furious!"
A chill runs through my body. I turn and look toward the VIP section, right where he usually sits with his guards and closest friends. And there he is, dressed entirely in black, with only his beautiful long blond hair standing out. For some reason, my body reacted to his gaze, and all I wanted was to be on top of him like a wild animal. But I couldn't give that kind of display in front of everyone.
I take Elijah's order and make my way to his booth through the crowd of people dancing and jumping. However, I reach the stairs leading up to the VIP area, my legs start to tremble, and a cold sweat drips down my back, disappearing into the area where the sun doesn't shine.
I push all the lustful thoughts out of my head and approach the table, placing the order where it belongs.
"Take a seat," Elijah says with a cold voice without looking me in the eyes.
"I have to... keep working."
"Your boss is talking to you, Alicia," he looks at me, and my legs weaken. His blue eyes send thousands of sensations that I don't even know how to explain. I do what he asks and sit beside him. "You won't attend to anyone else for the rest of the night."
"What?" I exclaim. "Elijah, you can't forbid me from doing that."
"Yes, I can, Alicia. I've told you once before, I'm the boss, and I can do whatever I damn please."
"I understand, but you must also understand that I can't just sit here doing nothing while my colleagues are working their butts off. Besides, I don't want anyone to see me as the boss's pet."
"That's why I want you to accept my proposal," he leans in toward me, and we quickly recline on the couch, with our lips just inches apart. "Do you have an answer for me yet?"
The night he left my house, he gave me an ultimatum. If I accepted, I would become the most important woman in the city, and if not... well, he would simply disappear from my life. However, Monica and her bouquets of flowers keep coming back to my mind.
I managed to push him off me and looked at him angrily.
"You're demanding an answer from me while sending expensive bouquets of flowers to Monica!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" He looks confused. "I've been on a business trip, and I haven't sent her flowers!"
"But she thinks the great Elijah Morgan is the one sending her those flower bouquets!"
Elijah looks at Harold, and the bodyguard just shrugs.
"But you still haven't answered my question," he says more calmly.
"No, Elijah!" I exclaim. "As long as you keep pretending to be interested in my friend, I'll say no!"
"But I've already told you it's not me!" Elijah appears quite frustrated not to get the response he wants. "How do you want me to prove it to you?"
"Just talk to her and make everything clear."
"And if I do, will you accept my proposal?"
I stay silent.
"I have to get back to work, Elijah."
"No, you're going to stay here with me," he demands.
"Ugh!" I stomp my foot. "No, I have to work, and I've explained my reasons to you!"
Without saying anything more, I head back down to the first floor, where I get another drink order for some other people.
Throughout the night, there were no issues. I kept working and receiving tips under the watchful eye of the boss, Elijah Morgan. Every now and then, I saw him getting angry when he saw me close to a man, but there was nothing I could do about it because I was surrounded by many.
However, there was one man in particular who couldn't take his eyes off me, and over the course of the night, he had given me generous tips, so much so that I probably earned my whole month's salary just from his tips. But his generosity raised suspicions. No one gives away that much money just because they received good service. So, I stepped aside and stopped serving him. Eventually, I lost sight of both him and Elijah.
As the club began to close its doors and ushered everyone out, the clock was already showing 5:00 in the morning. I massaged the soles of my feet, which were tired from standing, and all I wanted at that moment was to be lying in my bed, snug and warm, for at least four hours before I had to go back to work at the restaurant.
A strong urge to use the bathroom came over me, so I approached the nearest restroom and opened the door, only to be greeted by a big surprise.
Elijah was washing his hands, stained red, and his face showed anger. When he was this furious, it was best to leave him alone until all traces of bitterness disappeared. But this time, I wasn't going to let it slide.
"Are you okay?" I asked, leaning against the doorframe.
"Get out of here, Alicia," he growled, looking at me through the mirror.
"Well, you're using the bathroom, and I need to use it too."
"There are five more in the nightclub, Alicia. Don't make my damn night even worse."
I didn't move an inch despite my fear. Elijah had a strong character that made him very determined, and I didn't know what had happened to get his forearms covered in red liquid.
"The other guy fared worse?" I joked.
Elijah turned off the faucet, grabbed a paper towel, and started drying his hands. Then, he turned to me, and I could see the frustration in his eyes.
"Do you want to know what happened to the other guy?" He approached me so our breaths collided. His scent of mint and wood engulfed me completely.
"Yes," I barely managed to whisper.
"I killed him because he saw you, felt lust for you, and I saw him adjust his crotch when you smiled at him. That drove me damn crazy, Alicia."
That confession left me speechless and with a trembling body. Elijah looked like a raging bull when someone poked him in the back, which made me really reconsider his proposal.
Elijah leaned a bit further, brushing our lips, and I closed my eyes, longing for a kiss.
"Accept my proposal, Alicia," he whispered. "You'll be my queen, the queen of all this, and many other things."
I analyzed every part of his face, and right on his cheek, there was a trace of blood. I raised my hand and wiped it away. Elijah closed his eyes when he felt my touch.
"It's the first time I've begged someone, Alicia. You drive me absolutely insane, and you've become a part of me in such a short time that I haven't been able to get you out of my system. And if you refuse, I'll kidnap you and lock you away so that no one else can see you. I'll be the only one who can admire your beauty."
At this point, my lips were slightly parted, eager to taste his once and for all.
"Be the mother of my child, Alicia," he continued. "I promise to take care of you, handle everything, let me be the man you need in your life, I..."
I interrupted him by pressing my lips against his. Both of us let out a deep sigh because, after all, it was what we both had wanted for some time. His hands quickly found my waist, pulling me closer to his body so I could feel all of him.
Slowly, we parted, our foreheads touching.
"Is that a yes?"
I didn't know if I would regret this decision, but I couldn't resist him.
"Yes," I replied and nodded my head.
Elijah smiled, then gave me a passionate kiss filled with desire, happiness, and ferocity. There were so many emotions in that kiss that I felt like I was melting in his arms.
