Chapter 40
Allisa stepped through the doors of the cozy coffee and pastry shop, a mixture of excitement and nerves bubbling within her. As she looked around, she saw a welcoming smile on the face of a young man behind the counter who she had met the day she had come for the job. “Welcome to Beach Brews! I’m Kevin,” he said, extending his hand.
“Thank you, Kevin. I’m Allisa,” she replied with a smile, shaking his hand. She instantly felt at ease in his presence. Kevin had a warm and friendly demeanor that made her feel like she had found a long-lost friend.
Slowly, the other members of the team approached, introducing themselves with genuine warmth. Pauline, a vibrant woman with a contagious laugh, welcomed Allisa with open arms. “We’re so happy to have you join us!” she exclaimed.
As the days went by, Allisa quickly developed a strong bond with her new colleagues. She discovered they shared a deep passion for serving delicious coffee and pastries while creating a welcoming environment for their customers. They treated each other like family, supporting one another both inside and outside of work.
Niko, Daniela, and Chuck, the talented pastry chefs in the shop, took Allisa under their wing. They taught her the art of crafting delectable pastries, sharing their tips and tricks with endless patience. Allisa soaked up their knowledge, finding delight in the sweet aroma that filled the shop each morning.
As time passed, Allisa’s confidence grew. She became skilled at brewing the perfect cup of coffee, pouring latte art with precision, and assisting customers with a warm smile. The coffee shop soon became her sanctuary, a place where she could stand tall and showcase her abilities.
The shop itself was nestled along a serene beach, undisturbed by the hustle and bustle of city life. The rhythmic sound of waves crashing onto the shore created a soothing backdrop to the busy atmosphere of the shop. It was as if the sea whispered secrets of calmness and serenity to Allisa, guiding her towards finding her place in this strange world.
But amidst the spirited atmosphere of the coffee shop, there was an emptiness that lingered within Allisa’s heart. She yearned for something more, a purpose beyond her daily routine. Little did she know that her life was about to take an unexpected turn.
One sunny afternoon, while serving a customer, Allisa’s eyes met with a mesmerizing pair of ocean blue eyes. The beautiful woman stood tall and had a small smile that seemed to reflect a strong sense of elegance. She had an air of confidence about her and her eyes sparkled with curiosity and as she discreetly took in the quaint little shop and walked up to the counter.. Allisa’s heart skipped a beat, and she couldn’t help but be captivated by her presence and she felt a rush of warmth spread throughout her body.
“Hello,” the woman greeted, her voice carrying a melodious tone. “I’m Eleanor. I’ve been hearing wonderful things about this place. Mind telling me what your specialty is?”
Allisa’s heart skipped a beat as she met Eleanor’s gaze. There was an immediate connection, a magnetic pull that drew them together. She felt a warmth spreading through her, a feeling that she had been searching for without even realizing it.
“Good afternoon, welcome to Beach Brews”,Allisa said with a smile, trying to hide her newfound excitement though her voice betrayed her slight nervousness. “We take pride in our hand crafted coffee and pastries. Our cappuccinos are particularly delightful, made with love and passion”.
Eleanor chuckled softly, a sound that sent tingles down Allisa’s spine, her laughter like a Melody that dance in the air. “I’ll have to try one then. Surprise me,” she said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Allisa blushed and couldn’t help but steal glances out of the corner of her eyes at the woman as she walked away from the counter. There was something undeniably magnetic about her – a sense of familiarity that she couldn’t quite place. She found herself captivated by her presence, unable to tear her gaze away.
As Allisa prepared the cappuccino, her hands danced with a newfound grace. Her mind was filled with thoughts of Eleanor and the enchantment that seemed to surround her. She couldn’t deny the strong connection that was growing between them, and she couldn’t resist the pull to learn more about this captivating woman.
As the woman moved to find a seat, Allisa found herself inexplicably drawn to her. She had always believed in trusting her instincts, and her heart told her that this encounter was significant. But before she could gather her thoughts and approach her, an elderly woman walked up to the counter, requesting assistance. Putting her own desires aside, Allisa focused her attention on the customer, serving her with the utmost care and kindness.
When she was done taking the older woman’s order, she hurriedly made the coffee and brought it to Eleanor’s table with some pastries.
Placing the cup of frothy perfection in front of Eleanor, Allisa held her breath, waiting for her reaction. Eleanor took a sip, her eyes widening in surprise. A grin spread across her face as she looked up at Allisa.
“This is incredible!” she exclaimed. “You have a true gift, Allisa.”
The words warmed Allisa’s heart, a confirmation that she was on the right path. Little did she know that this encounter would be the start of something extraordinary, a journey of discovery and self-realization.
“Thank you. Do you live around here?”, Allisa asked and she bit her lip immediately. She want supposed to ask personal questions to the customers. She opened her mouth to apologize but the woman spoke first.
“Not really. I’m only going to be around for about a month or so. I came from New York City where I work as a real estate agent so I’m only here for a short vacation”.
“Oh”, Allisa nodded. She had heard a lot about New York, a huge city in this world that had a lot of people and quite the unique smell. She always wanted to visit whenever she heard people talk about how beautiful it was.
“I’m Eleanor Park. And you?”.
“Right. I’m Allisa Wordsworth”.
Eleanor nodded with a smile. Allisa blushed and excused herself back to the counter where she had a small line waiting for her. When she was done with the customers and looked up, Eleanor was gone.
She bit her lips and sighed, wishing she had gotten her number.
