Chapter 32
William frowned slightly.
"Didn't I tell you to call me Honey from now on? How did you forget again, hmm?"
"We're getting divorced anyway. Does it really matter what I call you?"
William narrowed his eyes and said, "It matters."
Ava didn't want to argue with him about such a childish topic anymore.
"Can you please let Lily cook first? I'm hungry now."
Only then did William let go and step back. The two of them came out of the bathroom together.
Lily had been waiting outside for a long time. It was time to cook, and she needed to ask the couple what they wanted.
William had quite a bit of lipstick on his lips, which he hadn't noticed.
Lily looked them both over with a knowing expression and asked,
"Mr. William Morgan, Mrs. Ava Morgan, what would you like to eat today?"
Ava didn't say anything. William glanced at her sideways while responding to Lily,
"Ava doesn't have much appetite today. Just prepare some bread and milk, that'll be enough."
Lily acknowledged and went back to the kitchen.
"Want to go upstairs?"
He asked.
"Let's just wait here for a bit."
The two sat down side by side on the sofa.
William's gaze fell on her slender, pale fingers, and he couldn't help but take them in his hand to play with.
In this house where they'd lived together for three years, this was the first time they'd sat so intimately on the sofa together. Come to think of it, they'd never even watched a movie together.
This had always been a small regret in Ava's heart.
He was always busy, so busy he couldn't be found. Even when he had free time, he wouldn't go watch a movie with her. In his view, that was boring.
Not as interesting as watching financial news.
"William, let's watch a movie."
"What do you want to watch?"
He casually picked up the remote from the coffee table and turned on the TV. Today, he seemed unusually indulgent with her.
Ava paused.
"You pick whatever. I'm fine with anything."
William pressed the remote a few times, then tossed it onto the coffee table and looked at her sideways.
"Really anything?"
Ava made a sound of agreement.
"Then let's go to the home theater. It has a better atmosphere there."
Ava let him lead her toward the home theater.
In the kitchen, Lily had already finished preparing dinner.
"Mr. William Morgan, Mrs. Ava Morgan, do you want to eat first?"
William paused in his steps.
"Let's eat first."
Lily had already set out the dishes.
The couple was unusually close today, both sitting on the same side.
Halfway through the meal, William looked up at Lily, as if remembering something.
"Lily, go back to your room and rest. Clean up later. Don't come out for now."
Lily's face flushed red. She quickly turned and went back to her room, afraid she might hear or see something she shouldn't. As soon as she got back, the Morgan Mansion called.
"Don't worry, sir. The couple is doing great. I'd say you're not far from holding a great-grandchild."
On the other end of the phone, Howard's smile stretched from ear to ear.
"Jeremy, tell the kitchen to prepare and keep sending meals to the office tomorrow."
Butler Jeremy passed Howard's order to the kitchen. Veda, who was in charge of the kitchen, was organizing ingredients for tomorrow—all nutritious foods.
Jeremy unconsciously touched his nose.
After eating all this stuff, could young people handle it? He couldn't help but picture his young master in his prime, feeling vaguely worried, wondering if the boy had noticed anything suspicious.
At SilkGrove Estates.
William sneezed several times.
"Done eating? Let's go watch the movie."
Ava put down her utensils. Looking at the leftover food on the table, she couldn't stand just leaving it there. She was a bit of a perfectionist—that's what the CEO of Swan Company had said about her.
Of course, this perfectionism didn't just exist in her work.
In life, she couldn't stand any mess either.
"Let's clean up first."
She looked at him resentfully, somewhat blaming him for sending Lily back to her room, leaving them to do it themselves.
William had no choice but to come help. Together, they dumped the leftovers into the garbage disposal and put the dishes in the dishwasher.
"Mrs. Ava Morgan, this is the first time in my life I've done housework. What should I do? I've given you so many of my important firsts."
His words were suggestive, doing chores while saying things that made one's face flush and heart race.
Ava's ears turned redder and redder. She was thinking about how to escape later.
While he was thinking about how to get her into bed.
Each with their own thoughts, they walked into the home theater.
The projector turned on, becoming the only light in the space of several dozen square meters.
He found a classic Lumarian romance film, then leaned back on the sofa and pulled her into his arms.
The movie opened with a passionate bedroom scene.
3D sound surrounded them, with rising and falling sounds of breathing all around.
Ava rubbed her temples, which were throbbing.
She should have known this jerk wouldn't pick some simple movie to watch with her. She glanced at the person beside her from the corner of her eye.
He sat there calmly, watching intently as if she were the only one with dirty thoughts..
Ava also put on a nonchalant attitude to appreciate the film. At least after the opening minutes of the passionate scene had passed, she breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Just as she was planning how to escape, she felt warmth on her earlobe that wasn't her own.
William rubbed her earlobe with his slightly calloused fingertips.
"Go get your ears pierced. The Morgan Group is releasing earrings in the second half of the year."
He said it as if their marriage could last until the second half of the year.
"Sarah likes all kinds of earrings. You can give them to her. As for me, forget it."
William suddenly sat up. Hearing her say "as for me, forget it" gave him an indescribable feeling.
Perhaps he'd gotten used to her chasing and clinging to him. Suddenly, her attitude had changed 180 degrees—she didn't want him anymore. That psychological gap was hard to accept.
"Ava, after being husband and wife, how can you just say forget it? How can you be so heartless to me? Is there only Joseph in your heart?"
"Stop looking for him. How am I not as good as him?"
He pinched her small face, forcing her to look at him.
Ava's heart jumped suddenly. She thought to herself, 'You're good in every way, the only problem is you only love Sarah.'
How can love accommodate three people?
William just stared at her like that. After a long time without hearing her answer.
He kissed her heavily again, this time without his previous restraint, his hands also misbehaving on her body.
As if trying to conquer her with his masculine prowess.
The wet sounds of kissing echoed in the home theater, the movie dialogue becoming background noise.
"Ava, let's not get divorced, okay?"
He admitted he regretted it.
