Chapter 121

Chapter 121

William got chewed out by Howard, who directly ordered Jeremy in front of everyone to list the JadeDragon Bay Residences property for sale - couldn't keep anything dirty around.

Michael had already seamlessly moved on to asking friends for floor plans.

Howard's frown only relaxed when he looked at the plans Michael handed him.

William's forehead was still bleeding. This time, Howard was going easy on him by not making him kneel for a whole day.

Seeing that Howard's anger had died down a bit, Ava pulled William into a room and got the first aid kit to treat his wound.

When the tweezers pressed a cotton ball against his wound, William couldn't help but hiss - only now feeling the pain.

"This isn't your first time meeting Grandpa. Why would you hand him a water glass at that moment? If you'd handed him a fruit knife, you'd be a widow by now."

Ava ignored him and continued using the cotton ball to wipe away the blood around his wound, disinfect it, and apply medicine.

"It's hot now, so be careful not to get it wet when you shower or wash your hair. Watch out for infection."

"I got a call this morning from the neighbor downstairs at JadeDragon Bay Residences saying the whole building is being harassed now."

William rambled on, then suddenly looked up at Ava. After a few seconds, he asked,

"How did the downstairs neighbor get my phone number?"

Ava's hand froze for a moment, but she quickly recovered, finished applying the medicine, and put two band-aids on him.

"No idea, maybe Sarah told them."

"Really?"

"Who knows?"

Ava wasn't going to take the blame for that. Either way, he wouldn't bother calling the downstairs neighbor to ask how they got his number. He could believe it or not.

After lunch, the servants in the villa got busy again. Everything they prepared yesterday, they prepared again today.

Little desserts, fruit, water, drinks, and some fresh seafood.

Ava watched Jeremy have people load box after box into the car. She actually wanted to say that she didn't dare eat most of these things, and wouldn't even touch the desserts.

William watched that box of seafood get loaded into his Bentley, disgusted to death but not daring to resist. Howard was finding fault with everything he did now, so he could only keep his tail between his legs.

Once the car left the villa and got on the highway, William finally relaxed.

Ava slept halfway through the trip when her phone rang. She took it out and saw it was an unknown number, hesitating whether to answer.

William leaned back in his seat, glancing at her screen with a guarded look,

"Afraid to answer? Another admirer?"

Provoked by him, Ava directly pressed the answer button,

"Hello, is this the owner of the JadeDragon Bay Residences property?"

"Yes."

"This is EaseNest Realty. Someone has made an appointment to view the property you listed for sale. Would this weekend be convenient?"

Ava was stunned. Howard sure moved fast - he'd just said this morning to sell the house, and now someone had already scheduled a viewing.

Ava didn't know how to respond for a moment. She looked at William, who was staring straight at her, like he was ready to catch her cheating.

"What's wrong?"

He asked.

Ava moved the phone away from her ear,

"The real estate agency is scheduling a viewing this weekend."

After saying this, she put the call on speaker. Whether they could view the property this weekend wasn't up to her, and she was curious what William would say.

William narrowed his eyes and answered, "Sure."

The person on the phone exchanged a few pleasantries and hung up.

Then Howard's call came through to William's phone,

"The JadeDragon Bay Residences property is definitely being sold. That woman is not allowed to live in any of the Morgan Family's properties from now on. If I find out you've placed her in another property, you're dead."

"Grandpa..."

William took a breath, looking helpless. Howard's call was just a notification, not a discussion. He didn't want to hear what William had to say and hung up directly.

Howard's anger hadn't completely subsided. He was keeping track of this and would continue to monitor it.

The car fell silent again.

James drove past the car in front, and William rubbed his temples and started complaining,

"What kind of driving is that, speeding up and slowing down? Did you cheat to get your license?"

James immediately straightened up, on high alert,

"Mr. Morgan, that small car ahead was going too slow."

"Drive steady."

A thin layer of sweat appeared on James's forehead. He was already being careful enough. He felt wronged.

Ava leaned against the car window, thinking to herself that James's driving was already good enough - what more did he want?

"You should let Sarah know."

She at least needed to settle the utility bills first, so the property management wouldn't call her again after Sarah left. It wasn't about the few hundred bucks - it was just annoying.

William glanced at her sideways, "Happy now?"

Ava laughed, "Honestly, yeah, a little happy. But it was expected."

That property was bought by Howard. Howard had friends in that complex, too. It was only a matter of time before Howard found out Sarah was living there. That phone call just made Howard find out sooner.

William hadn't expected her to express her thoughts so openly. That Ava, who used to let people push her around, could now walk sideways through the Morgan Family with Howard backing her up.

With that kind of support, he didn't understand what she was still afraid of, why she still cared about Sarah, who posed no threat to her at all.

"Pick out whatever property you like, and use my card. Don't look at anything Michael recommends, stay away from him."

This was like the hundredth time he'd told her to stay away from Michael.

After a few more encounters with Michael, Ava had already been deliberately keeping her distance.

"I don't want a property, and I don't want bags either. Please stop buying them, the closet at home is almost full."

William raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised by her words. James had told him that giving women bags never went wrong. Thinking back, all those bags in the closet at home were just sitting there unused - she really hadn't touched most of them.

The one she usually carried was a more low-key brand that she'd bought herself.

Thinking about this, William started doubting his own taste. Were the styles he picked not good-looking?

"You don't like bags? Or you don't like those styles?"

Ava leaned against the car door, keeping her distance from him, and told him directly,

"I don't want to trade my body with you."

Those bags weren't gifts to her; they were humiliation.

William pressed, "What trade?"

Ava thought to herself, he's more calculating than anyone, but playing dumb with her,

"Don't you buy a bag every time after we have sex?"

William rubbed his forehead, "Do I?"

"Yes, starting from the first time, you send a bag every time. However many times we've done it, that's how many bags are at home - the numbers pretty much match up. Sometimes you probably find it too much trouble and combine several times into one expensive one."

James, driving the car, wished he could cover his ears, thinking, 'Rich boy really knows how to play. Only Mr. Morgan could afford this - others don't have the means. Each time is at least tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands or millions.'

William was actually amused by this,

"That's what you think?"
