Chapter 169: "Don't Be Afraid, Sophia. We're Here."

Chapter 169: "Don't Be Afraid, Sophia. We're Here."
Sophia'POV
Fabian's scent wrapped tightly around me, giving me a long-lost sense of security.
His large hand stroked my back, the warmth from his palm dispelling the chill from my body and easing my tension and fear.
"Don't be afraid, Sophia. We're here."
I quickly held back my tears and left his embrace.
The gunshots upstairs continued, the sound of bullets hitting the walls sharp and intense.
Now was not the time for me to be emotional.
"Kieran's been shot. Please save him!"
Theo frowned, quickly stepped forward and bent down to check the wound.
Logan crouched beside them, his fingers reaching for Kieran's carotid artery.
After a few seconds, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Not too bad. Owen must have done some work to stop the bleeding earlier. We need to get him to the hospital right now!"
Fabian's gaze swept around, quickly making arrangements.
"Theo, you're the strongest. You carry Kieran on your back."
He turned to Logan. "Logan and I will clear the path ahead."
"What about me? I want to help too!"
I looked at them anxiously.
Although with my current physical condition, not being a burden to them was already good enough, I didn't want to just be dead weight.
Logan asked me seriously: "Sophia, can you shoot?"
I froze. "What?"
Logan pulled a silver handgun from his waist, then placed it in mine.
"Do you need me to shoot?"
This was my first time using a gun.
Fabian said, "With mine and Logan's strength, we can fully protect ourselves and Kieran. This is the last gun. Use it to defend yourself."
I gripped the gun in my hand, and nodded seriously.
Theo had already hoisted Kieran onto his back.
Soon, we began our breakout.
Theo walked in the middle carrying Kieran, while Fabian and Logan served as the vanguard on the left and right, constantly dealing with the guards rushing toward us.
Fabian and Logan moved incredibly fast.
They instantly transformed their wolf claws.
Guards charged at them one after another.
They dodged attacks with sidesteps and countered by plunging their claws into their opponents' hearts.
"Damn it!"
Logan shook the blood off his claws.
"These people are endless!"
I followed closely behind them, treasuring the last gun in my hand and trying my best not to cause them trouble.
By the time we left the basement level, chaos had erupted upstairs.
Gunshots, roars, and screams mixed together.
Fabian and Logan were starting to struggle because there were simply too many guards.
One person might have to deal with nearly ten guards at once.
Fabian had just finished off several guards when he turned around, fine beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Just then, I saw a wounded werewolf on the ground behind him struggling to get up, lunging at him with all his remaining strength.
"Fabian! Watch out!" I shouted, my voice almost drowning out the surrounding noise.
I quickly raised the gun in my hand and aimed at the werewolf.
Bang! The bullet whizzed out and hit the werewolf right in the head.
His body stiffened, then fell heavily to the ground.
This was the first time I had truly killed someone.
Theo glanced back at me and whistled.
"Sophia, your aim is excellent. Looks like I didn't teach you for nothing."
With Theo's words, I suddenly didn't feel afraid anymore.
That's right. I aspired to become a warrior. How could I be so easily defeated?
I gritted my teeth and gripped the gun in my hand.
More and more werewolves lunged at us. I kept my eyes fixed on their movements.
When a werewolf's claws were only a few feet from me, I nimbly rolled to the right to dodge, circled behind him, and kicked hard at his vulnerable neck.
Taking advantage of his loss of balance, I raised the gun to his head and pulled the trigger decisively.
The strength within me seemed endless.
Even though I couldn't transform into a wolf for now, I could still protect the people I loved.
We coordinated with each other and gradually cleared out the guards in the villa.
When we finally burst out of the villa.
I didn't expect that Mrs. Frost had actually made it to the Blood Moon Wolf Pack.
She stood in the protective circle of dozens of guards.
When Carl saw us, he immediately rushed forward to help clear the enemies blocking the way.
I looked at them and said urgently, "Kieran's been shot. Get him to the hospital quickly! We'll handle the rest."
Carl nodded and carefully took Kieran from Theo's back.
Theo rolled his shoulders, veins bulging on his neck.
"Alright, now let me deal with these bastards!"
He let out a low growl and quickly transformed into a giant wolf.
This time, the Ellis brothers hadn't brought many guards, but because it was a surprise attack, Laura had no preparation whatsoever.
Most of her guards had already been eliminated by us.
Laura stood on the villa's steps, having just dealt with some of our people, her face still marked with traces of blood.
She roared angrily, "Damn it! Sophia, I'm going to kill you!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, her body began to twist and transform, instantly shifting into a robust wolf.
I cursed inwardly and instinctively stepped back.
Laura's wolf let out a low growl, her hind legs gathered power, and she suddenly lunged at me.
I could only rely on my agile form to dodge her attacks, rolling on the ground.
Theo noticed my peril.
He roared and pounced on Laura, his claws striking heavily into Laura's flank.
"Ahh!!!"
The blow was almost fatal.
Laura screamed, her wolf form disappeared, and she collapsed on the ground, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.
I walked toward her, raising the gun in my hand.
"Theo, go help Logan and Fabian. I can handle this myself."
This was the hatred between Laura and me.
I stared coldly at Laura, the gun barrel aimed at her forehead.
Panic finally appeared on Laura's face.
"No, Sophia, you can't kill me! I'm carrying a child. You're the baby's aunt!"
"But you killed my mother!" I roared angrily, my eyes reddening.
I had almost no hesitation as my finger pulled the trigger.
Just then, a black figure suddenly lunged from the side, blocking Laura.
Bang!
The bullet hit Frank in the chest.
Frank's eyes widened. His body swayed, and he used all his strength to knock me down.
"Damn it!" I cursed in frustration.
I didn't have the strength to push Frank away and could only continue shooting at his chest.
Laura screamed heartbreakingly, "No!!!"
Before dying, Frank still held my waist tightly.
Laura seized this opportunity, scrambled up from the ground, and staggered toward a nearby car.
I struggled to shake off Frank, who had already stopped breathing.
I raised my gun, aimed at Laura's fleeing figure, and pulled the trigger.
The empty chamber sound was particularly piercing.
There were no bullets left.
I watched as Laura got into the car and drove away.
