Chapter 159: "Laura Wants to Kill Me"

Chapter 159: "Laura Wants to Kill Me"
Sophia's POV
Kieran roared, "What the hell! Laura, what are you doing?"
He held a gun in his hand, his eyes red with fury, while the other three alphas surrounded her at the same time.
A trace of panic finally appeared on Laura's face.
After all, Laura had only just inherited the leadership of the pack. Compared to them, her presence was still considerably weaker.
Her eyes began to waver, not daring to meet the fury of the four alphas directly.
Her throat bobbed as she spoke with a trembling voice.
"I am so sorry, everyone. I was too hasty. Please let me explain."
I tugged at Kieran's sleeve, and only then did he reluctantly restrain his anger.
Laura explained, "These thugs have been harassing us for a long time. They have no value in staying alive, so I took it upon myself to kill them."
Fabian narrowed his eyes. "Is that so? But it looked like they were coming for us."
His tone carried scrutiny and suspicion.
I felt very confused as well.
When I mentioned to Will earlier about being surrounded by the wolf pack, Will's reaction was extremely surprised.
If this kind of thing really happened often, Will couldn't possibly be that shocked.
I tentatively spoke up, "Laura, but Will..."
"Don't mention Will to me!"
Laura abruptly cut me off. Her chin lifted slightly, her voice sharp as a knife.
"Dad has been in poor health these years. He hasn't managed pack affairs for a long time. Now, I am the alpha of the Blood Moon Wolf Pack!"
I instinctively stepped back half a step, my heartbeat inexplicably accelerating.
Theo pulled me into his arms, his arm wrapped tightly around me, staring at Laura with a warning look.
Laura's momentum clearly weakened. She bit her lip, not daring to continue being aggressive.
"Let's get in the cars first," she urged. "You're all injured. I'll have the doctor treat your wounds when we get back to the pack."
After speaking, Laura turned and walked away.
I got into Logan and Kieran's car.
As soon as the car door closed, Kieran slammed the seat, "That woman is definitely up to something!"
Logan leaned against the seat back, his index finger gently rubbing his chin.
"Her reaction was too unnatural, and those people's equipment and coordination didn't look like ordinary thugs."
My mood was very complicated.
Laura's action of shooting just now was very hasty, as if she was afraid those wolves would survive.
But from today onward, I would be the princess of the Blood Moon Wolf Pack. Laura was my biological sister. I had just returned to this family. I shouldn't suspect her or want to have conflicts with her.
I leaned back in my seat, my voice carrying fatigue.
"Forget it, we'll investigate slowly later."
After returning to the Blood Moon Wolf Pack, Will was already waiting for us at the villa entrance.
Laura quickly walked to his side.
"Dad, those thugs have all been dealt with. Don't worry."
Will nodded with relief. "That's good, that's good."
Even though we had escaped danger, Will still very solemnly apologized to the four alphas.
His voice contained guilt.
"I'm sorry. I failed to protect you properly, which caused you to get injured."
By seniority, Will was a respected elder, and also my father, so the four alphas all restrained their edge.
Kieran was more familiar with Will, so he spoke on our behalf.
"It's alright, Mr. Will. This was just an accident."
They had sustained some superficial injuries in the fight, fortunately none of them were shot.
Given their healing abilities, they should recover quickly.
Only after the doctor's examination did I truly feel at ease.
While they were treating their wounds, I went alone to Will's room.
Will sat on the edge of the bed, showing a loving smile.
"Sophia, what's wrong? You don't look well."
I sat down in the chair opposite him, my hands clenched together.
After hesitating for a long time, I decided to speak.
"Dad, actually, Marcus and I haven't had an easy time these years."
Will frowned. "What?!"
I told him about our experiences over the years.
"When I was young, I was just an omega, so many werewolves liked to bully me. It was Marcus who protected me."
"For as long as I can remember, I've been moving around with Marcus between various packs. Even recently, someone was hunting Marcus and me. I suspect..."
The room was terrifyingly quiet, only Will's heavy breathing could be heard.
I took a deep breath.
"So I suspect the wolves who attacked us today were the same ones who hunted Marcus and me before. Dad, Marcus must still be in their hands. I want to..."
"Bang!"
The door was pushed open. Laura stood in the doorway, her face gloomy.
"Marcus?" She sneered, her tone caustic.
"That traitor, why are you still looking for him? It would be best if he were dead."
I stood up abruptly, clenching my fists, fury rushing to my head.
"You..."
Laura didn't give me a chance to speak at all. She glanced at me, her tone carrying a warning.
"Besides, Dad's health isn't good. Don't bother him with these matters."
Her tone was full of reproach, as if I were being unreasonable.
My chest felt stifled, but looking at Will's aged face, I could only lower my head guiltily.
"Laura, I'm fine. Don't blame Sophia."
Will patted the back of my hand, his voice gentle.
"Sophia, I'll have Robert follow up on this matter. Don't worry."
I could only nod and follow Laura out of the room.
In the hallway, Laura walked ahead of me.
She led me to a room door.
"This is the room you lived in before you disappeared. You can sleep here tonight."
I walked into the room, surveying the furnishings.
Everything was extremely similar to the scenes in my dreams.
My heartbeat suddenly accelerated. I should have felt happy, but now I only felt horrified.
Doubts grew in my heart, but there were too few clues. I couldn't make sense of anything.
I shook my head, trying to dispel those uneasy thoughts, and simply went to the bathroom to take a shower.
I lay on the bed, and forced myself to close my eyes and sleep.
The scenes in my dream were blurry yet real.
Laura locked me in the room.
She forcefully pressed me to the ground, forcing me to kneel, then viciously slapped my face.
"Bitch! It's all your fault! Why did you come back? Why?!"
I couldn't breathe, couldn't break free, only suffocating in despair.
"No!" I suddenly opened my eyes.
Cold sweat soaked through my pajamas, clinging tightly to my body.
I curled up at the foot of the bed, trembling all over, my heart feeling like it would jump out of my chest.
"Bang!" The door was suddenly slammed open.
Perhaps sensing my wolf's fear, Fabian rushed in.
"Sophia!"
I almost immediately threw myself into his arms, clutching at his clothes.
"Fabian, I'm so scared... Laura, in my dream, she wanted to kill me."
