Chapter 30 Ice Hockey Star
Quinn's POV
Yash! My cover works.
I put quite a lot of effort to dress up like this, especially when putting on the mustache. It came off several times and I had to apply more glue. Not to mention the clothes I had to painstakingly pick out at the thrift store.
Huff, but it paid off because no one recognized that I was actually a woman.
Even when we entered the elevator and jostled with other patrons, they only focused on Grayson. Which was better?
Well, even though I had to be pushed to the back because people were trying to get to the front with Grayson for autographs or photos. At least now I have time to relax for a while by leaning my back against the elevator wall. Because after this, I'll definitely be busy, especially dealing with Grayson's emotions.
I held back my laughter when Grayson's burly body was also pushed by the ferocity of his fans asking for photos.
It's funny when I think about it.
Grayson is really famous beyond his own team. He managed to attract fans from all ages, whether male or female.
I once saw him talking to an old lady and an old man outside the S-T Arena, and I also saw him high-five children after giving them autographs. The point is, Grayson is a big hit with everyone. He's everyone's star.
Fortunately, his fame is equal to his skill. So no one is bashing him.
Okay, now it's time for the impromptu meet and greet session to end. We had to get out of the elevator because we had reached our destination floor and the check-up appointment was only a few minutes away.
I cut through the crowd and grabbed Grayson's hand to lead him out.
I heard the disappointed cheers from his fans back there. But they were soon muffled as the elevator closed again.
I kept pulling Grayson until we were in front of the examination room. I had taken care of everything so that when he arrived, he could go straight through the examination without having to wait.
"You can go in now," I said as I pushed his body. But he remained standing in place while looking at me with furrowed brows.
"Are you sure there's no injection?"
"There wasn't. I'm surprised you're so well-built, but you're afraid of needles that aren't even that big." I shook my head in disbelief just like when I first heard it from him.
"It's precisely because it's small and pointy that I'm afraid. Now come with me inside."
"I can't. I'll wait-"
Grayson pulled my hand without further ado and opened the door before I could agree.
Meanwhile the doctor in the room seemed surprised that we just walked in. She even looked at us in turn.
But honestly, she was very pretty. She was tall and her body was well-proportioned, like a model.
Realizing that I was still disguised as a man, I immediately threw Grayson's hand and pushed him to sit down.
"Right, welcome Grayson and... may I know your name?"
Damn, I hadn't prepared a name yet. So whatever came to mind first, that's what I said, "Dylan. I'm Dylan Roux, his friend."
"I'm Grayson's personal doctor, May," she said kindly. Then she shook my hand. "Sorry if I look surprised, I never knew Grayson had a male friend this close."
I quickly glanced at Grayson for help. And he seemed to catch my meaning because he broke our handshake.
"That's because I never introduced him to you. Well Dylan, she's May, a werewolf, who's been crazy since she was a kid," Grayson grumbled.
"Hey! At least give me a good image in front of this handsome guy," May jokingly retorted.
Ah, I never knew Grayson actually had a friend, let alone a woman and has been known since childhood as well.
I thought Grayson didn't have any friends because of his impenetrable personality. Turns out my guess was wrong, he also made friends like any other person.
Thankfully, that means he's not really alone. I don't have to feel sorry for him because he can also get along other than with sticks and pucks.
"Okay so what should I do?" asked Grayson, sounding impatient.
May then stood up and walked over to Grayson. She then took off Grayson's top suddenly.
I rounded my eyes when I saw Grayson's back.
Even May also looked confused when she saw the five-finger marks on Grayson's back.
Gosh, I didn't think my strike on his back would leave such a mark. I didn't think it was hard enough. I thought I was doing it slowly, as befits a gentle human like me. But it turned out to leave a red mark like that.
"Do you like kinky things?" May asked Grayson. She raised her eyebrows as she pointed at Grayson's back. "Five-finger print on your back."
"Huh?" Then Grayson turned to me. Which made me look away immediately.
"No wonder why it was so loud. Her little hands are so strong to make marks like that," he continued later.
I was embarrassed and felt guilty at the same time.
Even though May didn't know that it was me, it was clear that Grayson's words were directed at me.
"Alright, now put this on. I'll wait for you in the next room for further examination." May handed the hospital gown to Grayson and went out.
Meanwhile, Grayson looked confused. He finally approached me.
"I have to take off all my clothes and just wear this thin shirt?"
I nodded. "Yes, you have to take off your clothes. There's a place to change if-"
What the hell!
Grayson suddenly took off his clothes in front of me and put on a hospital gown.
"Didn't you hear me? There's a changing room!" I snapped. I mean, what if someone suddenly walked in and saw him naked? He’s insane, really.
"Too long," he replied simply, picking up his clothes and putting them on the chair next to me. "I won't be long. You wait here."
I prevented him from leaving by pulling his hand. I glanced at his lower body and snicker. "You should relax! How can you be hard like that at a time like this, huh?"
Instead, he just shrugged his shoulders while raising his eyebrows and left the room as if it was no big deal.
Oh my bad, could he be hard because of May? What an untrustworthy man!
I only shortly went to the bathroom when I came back and found Grayson was no longer in May's room. Neither was May, she wasn't there. Both of them disappeared when I left.
I tried to think positively. Maybe they were chatting somewhere, right?
Yes, it must be like that. So I don't have to wait for Grayson in this room. Also, we don't have to go back to the S-T Arena together. I can get there by public transportation and Grayson by his own car.
Yes, that's how it should be.
I finally went down to the lobby while carrying my heavy bag.
At first I didn't pay attention to my surroundings but then when I got to the lobby, I heard Grayson's voice with May.
That made me look up and see the source of the sound.
There in front of the finding machine stood Grayson, May, and an older woman who had a facial resemblance to Grayson. Oh, could that old woman be Grayson's mother? Because his parents' faces had never been publicized, so no one knew.
But I don't know what they were talking about. It seemed to be fun because all three of them were laughing.
Honestly, the three of them do look good together. Their aura is undeniable, it looks like a harmonious old money family.
I was about to wave my hand to signal that I would go first to Grayson when he saw me, but he turned his face back, as if he didn't recognize me.
Ah or maybe it was just me being too sensitive.
Right, it's maybe Grayson did not see me even though our eyes had met. Maybe he forgot that I was in disguise and thought I was someone else.
I had no right to disturb them too. So instead of staying here waiting for their conversation to finish, I hurried out to catch the next bus.
