Chapter 157 Apart?

Chapter 157 Apart?
Quinn's POV
"Don't get up yet if you still wanna sleep, babe." Grayson kissed my forehead, then he left, I don't know what to do.
Meanwhile, I was still under the blanket, stretching and positioning my body more comfortably. My eyes watched his movements. "What's up? It's unusual for you to wake up first."
He glanced back. "Mom and Dad are here. But don't panic, they're enjoying some time together in the living room."
I sat up immediately. "You didn't tell me? Oh my god, Gray Bear!"
"Shhh, don't panic, just calm down." He gestured with his hand for me to stay seated.
How could I not panic? After what I knew, I couldn't act normal like I used to. And I wasn't ready to see them again either.
Now, Grayson's parents were no longer the same in my eyes. I now felt guilty but also angry at the same time, especially when I saw Mr. Talon.
I don't know if Mrs. Talon was also involved, but Mr. Talon, what I regret about him is that he let my mother leave the pack.
I mean, if Mr. Talon really loved my mother back then, he should have at least tried to keep her from leaving them. At the very least, he could have helped my mother convince the elders that relationships with humans weren't that bad. Or if not, he could have been honest with his wife and children about this from the start.
Now that it's come this far, it feels too late to be honest. In fact, if Mr. Talon were honest, it would ruin everything that has been neatly arranged. Especially my relationship with Grayson.
"You take a shower and clean up first. Then we'll go out." Grayson flashed his sweet smile.
I watched him search for something in the drawer. "Is there something they wanna talk about?"
Grayson stopped moving. He turned around with a moved expression. "It's about Dylan's treatment. I think my aunt can do it."
I reflexively covered my mouth with both hands and stared. "Are you serious?"
Grayson's body finally turned completely. He then ran towards me and hugged me. "Yes, babe. That's what they said. But you need to know that this won't be easy and we need your help."
I nodded quickly. "What can I do? Just tell me. Anything, if it means Dylan can be cured, then I'm willing to try."
Grayson tucked my messy hair behind my ear. "Most likely, you'll have to contribute directly. And my parents will explain it because they're the ones who will arrange it."
My smile disappeared instantly. "Your aunt won't explain it herself?"
"Not for now. Is it alright if my parents explain it on my behalf?"
Honestly, I was worried that if they explained this collaboration, I would lose focus on the solution being offered and instead focus on the issues they were covering up.
And that couldn't happen.
But I couldn't possibly refuse either. Because that would only raise Grayson's suspicions, which I couldn't answer right now.
My only options right now are to agree or... miss this opportunity, which may or may not come again.
So I sighed quietly and smiled again. "It's okay. But we can meet your aunt another time, right?"
"Of course, babe. It's just for now."
"All right. Then I'll get dressed and wash my face. At least I won't look like I just woke up."
Grayson chuckled. "I already told them you were still asleep. Mom insisted on peeking in, and she didn't mind."
I pursed my lips, still trying to hide what I was really feeling. "You're embarrassing me, huft."
Grayson suddenly kissed both my eyes. “If you can accept them as they are, then they should too.”
“Okay, okay. Now please let me go, sir. I gotta go to the bathroom now.”
Grayson moved away from me. “Can I bathe you this time?”
I threw the blanket at his face. “Pervert!”

Here I am now. In the living room, facing Grayson's parents again.
The atmosphere this time feels tense to me. I don't know how Grayson's parents feel about it.
"Quinn." Mrs. Talon held my hand. Her sparkling eyes looked at me deeply. "We have good news. Grayson must have told you, right?"
I nodded. "I'm very happy to hear it, Mum. I wanna see Dylan fully recovered."
"We can make that happen now," she replied. She then pulled me into her hug.
"That's right. My sister can and is willing to help. But we need you to help, Quinn." This time Mr Talon explained.
I paused for a moment to look at him. It felt like the man I had helped was an innocent man, but that wasn't entirely true.
But I couldn't ruin the mood. This was for Dylan's sake!
I forced a smile. "Thank you very much, Mr. Talon. I am very grateful and appreciate the decision of everyone involved."
Mrs. Talon stroked my hair gently. "The method she offered is to awaken the wolf in Dylan's body. Most likely, he is the same as you, sweetheart. And if the wolf is successfully awakened, his body will be much stronger to receive the treatment."
Honestly, I was shocked.
I never thought Dylan and I were the same, the same kind.
"Then what should I do?" I asked curiously.
"You can help Dylan awaken his wolf. You will train and be trained by my sister. She will explain the type of training and what will be done. Do you agree?"
I looked at Mr. Talon. With full awareness, I nodded. "When and where will the training take place?"
Mrs. Talon and Mr. Talon looked at each other. Then Mr. Talon opened his mouth. "Outside the city. Deep in the countryside. And it's likely that you and Grayson will be separated for a while."
