Chapter 121 If We Go Down, We Go Down Together

Chapter 121 If We Go Down, We Go Down Together
Grayson's POV

I waited patiently for Quinn to be ready. But what did I get? That trashy news.

Other people won't care if it's true or not. Because there's a photo, they'll believe what they see.

And now Quinn is known not as my fated mate. But she's known as my former therapist who has a mysterious relationship with Hanz.

Damn it! I really hate this!

Quinn's name, which should have been clean, without any scandals, is now tarnished because of Hanz!

Quinn's name, which should have been introduced as my partner, is now tainted because everyone thinks she is dating Hanz!

I don't blame Quinn. I don't think any of this is her fault. I believe her explanation that Hanz approached her.

But I'm furious at myself for not being able to prevent them from meeting.

If I could have prevented it, maybe at the end of the season, Quinn's name would be listed with mine. And it would say Mrs. Grayson.

Damn it! I don't know how many times I have to curse to calm myself down.

Everything is a mess now. The plans I made for our future are completely ruined because of that one photo.

All this time, I've been desperately hiding Quinn from the media. And because of that irresponsible reporter, Quinn is now known to everyone.

"If you're disappointed, then so am I, Grayson. I refused to publicize our relationship because I didn't want to be in the public eye. It's not because I have a relationship with another Alpha."

"But now people will believe and think you belong to Hanz," I said, emphasizing my words.

"It's just a rumor. As long as it's not confirmed, people will forget about it."

It's not that easy. I'm very sure of that. I know very well how the media works. Especially since Kelly also taught me how dirty they can be in order to get news that will sell.

"Then I'll sue that reporter. I'll also ask him to retract all his stories and publish a new one stating that it was all a misunderstanding. That way, your name will be cleared."

Quinn pushed me away. "Stop making a big deal out of this, Grayson."

I stepped forward and cornered her again. "I'm not making a big deal out of this. I'm just doing what I have to do as your boyfriend, Quinny. Someone is trying to ruin your name. What do you expect me to do? Just stand by and watch you destroy yourself? That's not going to happen."

I punched the wall next to her with my fist until it cracked. "If we go down, we go down together."

I immediately called my personal lawyer, ready to file a lawsuit.

But Quinn suddenly took my phone and hid it behind her body. “Don’t focus on that now. Focus on your game. I want you to win more than I want you to deal with this problem right now.”

I tried to take my phone back. But Quinn put it in her coat instead.

“Quinn,” I called out firmly.

"I'm disappointed in you too, Grayson. Of all the difficult things, there is one easy thing you can do, and that is apologize. But you didn't do it. Instead, you suspected me. I don't understand what you want from our relationship."

Oh shit! I should have apologized first! I realized I was wrong, but instead I kept talking about the rumors. Fuck!

I immediately knelt in front of her. I held her hands tightly and kissed them repeatedly. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."

Quinn wiped the corners of her eyes. "I just don't want your concentration to be disturbed. Let's deal with that after the game. So let's stop talking about the rumors and Hanz. Okay?"

I nodded repeatedly.

I really had to learn again. When I was jealous, I felt like I wanted to tear the world apart. Which was not the right thing to do.

I had to stay calm so I wouldn't make the wrong decision. As Quinn said, I had to stay focused.

"Stand up. You have to get ready."

I stood up and hugged Quinn very tightly. I kissed her forehead gently. "I'm sorry I'm not as mature as you. I'll learn to be a better boyfriend."

Quinn just smiled slightly and nodded. "Now go back to your team. I'll be watching you. Make me proud."

"Sure, I'll win this game for you."

That bastard Hanz deliberately bumped into me when I was about to hit the puck. As a result, we both fell down.

I had been suppressing my anger all this time. I had also tried to ignore all of Hanz's tricks to disrupt my game. But now I couldn't stay quiet anymore. I wanted revenge!

So after Hanz got up, I attacked him. It turned out that my teammates had already started a brawl. They couldn't accept that their captain had been cheated.

I grabbed Hanz's shirt. "If you dare to mess with Quinn, I'll get rid of you from the rink forever."

He laughed. "Go ahead. This should be interesting. I'm also looking forward to what you'll do after the news spreads."

Hearing the news brought up again, I tightened my grip. "Damn it! Did you plan this? What else are you planning, huh!"

He didn't answer me, just shrugged his shoulders.

I almost punched him in the face if someone hadn't pulled me back. It was Bram, the right wing for Frost Maple.

"Capt, snap out of it! He's just trying to provoke you!"

Damn, he was right. And now I was provoked. My anger was at its peak.

I gained nothing by threatening him. In fact, now I might be seen as a senior intimidating a junior.

"Let's win all the rounds, captain!" shouted Bram.

I finally came back to my senses completely. I looked for Quinn among the crowd of spectators.

Luckily, I managed to find her. She was the brightest light among the others. My eyes were drawn to her and couldn't look away.

Quinn saw me. She raised her hand, cheering me on. She smiled and spoke silently. "You can do it. Keep going."

Seeing that she had been watching me all along made me realize that I had to do my best without disappointing her.

So I went back to playing, ignoring Hanz. Although I was actually very curious about his next plan.
