Chapter 120 I Still Belong to You, Not Someone Else

Chapter 120 I Still Belong to You, Not Someone Else
Quinn's POV

"Calm down first. Drink some water," said Dylan. He handed me a bottle of water.

I gulped it down until only half was left. And that made me feel better. "Okay, so now I'll tell you what happened."

"It's okay to tell me later."

"No, Dylan. I feel like I have to tell you now. Then give me advice. Okay?"

"All right, if that's what you want."

I took a deep breath. I leaned toward Dylan. "Hanz ran into me earlier. And Grayson saw us together. He got upset because Hanz wanted to touch my hand. I explained what happened to Grayson. But he didn't respond seriously because his manager called him."

"If I understand your explanation correctly, Grayson wasn't mad. Then what's the problem?"

I sighed. "The problem is Grayson's response. He didn't seem to take me seriously. And the look in his eyes... it seemed like he was upset. But I was also upset because he didn't seem to believe me."

"Did he say he didn't believe you?"

"No, he didn't. But I felt that way."

Dylan shook his head. "Quinn, men aren't very emotional creatures. Maybe what he said is exactly what he thinks. So if you've given your explanation, and if Grayson's response was too brief because he was busy, then that's just how it is. As long as he didn't say he didn't believe you, then everything is fine."

I glanced at the live broadcast. "So you think I'm just overthinking?"

"Exactly. But if you're still unsure, you can meet him again after this. After the interview is over, meet him."

"But what if he's upset? I'll definitely be more upset. I don't want to meet him while I'm still upset. It will only make me even more angry."

"Then just wait until the game is over. It's easy, right?"

I squeezed my hair in frustration. I couldn't wait that long.

I also didn't want to let Grayson hold onto his feelings during the game. I didn't want his mood to ruin today's game. Because today was an important one. If Grayson won, it would show Hanz his place.

"Okay. I'll meet him after the interview."

"Good. Now, let's see what the Alpha of the White Tiger has to say."

Hanz really pissed me and Dylan off. Probably everyone who is watching too.

How could it not? He openly taunted Grayson and his words were very arrogant.

As a rookie, he should have realized that Grayson was not an easy opponent.

Now I couldn't wait for Grayson to finish Hanz off on the rink. I hope he won't be so loud after that.

"Okay. It's time, Quinn." Dylan nudged my arm.

"Okay, okay. I'm going out."

"I'll be right behind you!" said Dylan. He then closed the door.

The cold air greeted me as soon as I got out of the car. I even had to put on my jacket hood.

This time, many people had already started queuing to enter the arena. I was one of them.

"Quinn?"

I turned my head because the voice sounded familiar. It was the general manager's voice.

I approached him, who was not far from another door in the arena. "I want to watch the game," I explained. Because it was impossible for me to explain that I was looking for Grayson. He might get suspicious.

He smiled. "How are you? You look refreshed. You seem very happy. Ah, I'm also happy for you two."

I rounded my eyes.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I'll keep this secret to myself. Oh yeah, Grayson is waiting for you inside. Can you meet him for a moment?"

"Grayson told you that we..."

"No. He just asked me to find you. That kid is so rude. He didn't even tell me where you were. I was only asked to look for you outside the arena."

"Then how did you know?" I asked curiously.

He covered his mouth with hand. "I'm observant enough to read your behavior."

Now it was my turn to cover my mouth. "And you didn't report it?"

"I think you two are in love. So I kept my suspicions to myself."

"Oh, I feel so bad for you. You must have really wanted to report us at that time."

"No, no, don't get the wrong idea. I'm glad that Grayson's performance has improved a lot since you arrived. Like he's at his peak."

"I lied to you back then, I'm sorry."

"Don't feel guilty. You don't work for Grayson anymore, right? So let's not bring that up again. Okay?"

I nodded slowly. "Thank you for keeping it a secret from the others."

The general manager smiled broadly. "I consider Grayson my own son. So of course I want to keep his career shining. He is also Frost Maple's hope."

Honestly, this was beyond my expectations. Because I thought he would be the first person to be furious when he found out about my relationship with Grayson. In fact, it was the opposite.

"Before anyone sees us, let's go inside."

I followed the general manager. Grayson was standing not far from the restroom, still wearing his suit.

I stopped a few steps away from him.

"My job is done, young master. I'll be leaving now. Please finish your business. And you, Grayson, promise to play very well today. Let's win again!"

Grayson just nodded firmly once. He didn't even return the general manager's high five.

And after the general manager disappeared, Grayson approached me. He walked with his hands in his pants pockets.

"What do you want?" I asked directly.

He smiled crookedly as he turned his face to the side.

"Are you upset? You don't think my explanation is true?" I snapped.

Suddenly, he walked quickly forward, pushed me against the wall, and pinned me down. I didn't feel any pain because he was holding me with his hands. So it was his hands that hit the wall, not my back or head.

"What's wrong with you, gray bear?"

Grayson stared at my lips as if he wanted to eat it. "I don't like you being with other men. Stay away from Hanz to avoid rumors."

It was my turn to laugh. "I didn't approach him. So I can't stay away from him. He's the one who came to me."

"Even so..."

Grayson's words were cut off by his phone ringing.

"Oh, so now you have your phone with you?"

He didn't answer my question. Instead, he was busy playing with his phone. Then his eyes widened and his fingers stopped scrolling the screen.

Unable to stand being ignored, I took his phone. My reaction was not much different from his.

Now I understood why Grayson was focused on his phone. It was because there was new news, which had just been released, reporting that:

"Grayson's former therapist was caught on camera with rookie Hanz. Do they have a serious relationship? Or will we hear two dating news stories from the two Alphas who are competing today? Or, could there be something more serious than just dating? Do you think it's ethical for a therapist from another group to date one of the players from the opposing group? Let's head to the S-T Arena to watch today's heated game!"

Grayson suddenly grabbed his phone.

"That's fake news. Just ignore it. I don't want it to distract you,” I said.

Grayson held my shoulders. His eyes were red. "That's not what I'm upset about. I'm disappointed. You're the one I was supposed to announce as my fated mate, but that damn rookie beat me to it. I'm disappointed, Quinn. Is this your reason for refusing to publicize our relationship?"
