Love Slave
“Hey, bro. Why have you been stunned all this time? You were thinking about Laura, right?” Reynold's four friends approached.
Reynold just sighed. He looked uninspired. His hopes of having Laura had disappeared. Apart from that woman, there was no other woman he wanted. Even of the many women who gave him gifts or attention every day, none of them captivated his heart.
Reynold's four friends looked at each other. They were confused by Reynold's attitude, which was like that of a man who was bored with life. “Are you ready to just give up? In my opinion, as long as Laura hasn't officially become crown princess, you still have hope," said one of Reynold's friends, Mark.
"Yes, I agree. You have to keep fighting. Don't give up." Reynold's three other friends also spoke.
"The problem is, Laura herself ended this relationship," Reynold answered, surprising his friends.
“Wow, this is really heavy.” Mark looked at Reynold with pity.
"Stay cool. There is still hope. I know how." Bam makes a sound. Reynold and the others looked at him. Their gazes were very serious, waiting for what Bam would continue to say. “The way to do this is to seduce God, ask Laura to be yours. If it hasn't been granted, you can just go to a shaman.”
Mark immediately hit the book in his hand against Bam's body. Likewise with the others. “Oh, shit. If you are looking for a solution, provide the right solution. Don't give false solutions."
Reynold rested his head on the table again. He really didn't mean to joke. Even when talking, he was very lazy. This time, his mind was filled with the figure of Laura. His status as the woman's fiancé had failed, even though his parents did not yet know the truth.
“Heh, Reynold. There's Clarissa looking for you at the front," said a female student, Reynold's classmate.
"Tell her to come in," Reynold answered lazily. The female student immediately left the classroom.
Not long after, Clarissa was beside Reynold. She came with one of her friends. "Hi, Rey. I'm here to give you this." She put in a box of sweet cakes.
Reynold raised his head, sat up straight, and looked at the cake box on his table. “Sorry, I disturbed you. I'm just worried about your condition, which looks increasingly thin. That's why I gave you this cake," continued Clarissa.
Mark, and Reynold's other friends just watched. They felt sympathy for Clarissa, who cared so much about Reynold. However, among the views of Reynold's four friends, Mark's gaze seemed most sincere. He had been interested in Clarissa for a long time. He chose to hide his feelings when he found out that Clarissa really liked Reynold.
"Thank you." Reynold smiled slightly to show respect for Clarissa. After all, the woman was the daughter of his father's best friend.
“Do you have any more lessons after this?” Clarissa asked just for small talk. She still wanted to linger to see Reynold's face.
“There doesn't seem to be any. But after this, I want to practice basketball," answered Reynold.
"Um, can I have a moment of your time?" Clarissa is not afraid to continue approaching the man she has liked all this time.
"What for?" Reynold frowned.
"I want to invite you to lunch together in the canteen. Coincidentally, today is my birthday. I want to celebrate with you," said Clarissa openly.
Reynold and his four friends were, of course, surprised. They didn't know that it was Clarissa's birthday today. "Happy birthday." Mark said it first, followed by Reynold and the others.
"Thank You." Clarissa smiled happily.
Reynold looked thoughtful. He really wanted to refuse Clarissa's invitation, but he was reluctant. Suddenly, a telephone call came in. He immediately took his cell phone out of his pocket. His eyes immediately widened when he saw the name that called him. Excitedly, he picked up the phone.
“Hello, Laura. What do you need?" Reynold answered, which was heard by his friends, including Clarissa. Clarissa's face suddenly changed. She didn't like it when Reynold said the name of the woman she hated.
"Okay. I'll go there now. Wait for me." Finally, a sweet smile appeared on Reynold's face. After some time, it is not visible. He put the cell phone back in his trouser pocket. “Clarissa. Sorry, I can't celebrate your birthday. Let them accompany you," he said, pointing to his four friends. Without waiting for an answer, he immediately left the classroom.
"Wow, he's really enslaved by love," grumbled Bam. Clarisaa was so disappointed to see Reynold just leave her for Laura.
“Clarissa, don't be sad. The four of us will accompany you to celebrate your birthday," said Mark gently. His feelings hadn't changed one bit since the first time he fell in love with her.
"Thank You. I want to go back to my class first." Clarissa and her friends immediately left.
“Uh, wait!” shouted Bam, which Clarissa ignored. Mark became increasingly sad to see Clarissa's attitude of not caring about him.
In a library, Laura is focused on reading books about werewolves and other mythological creatures. She was very curious about the oddities she had discovered recently. When she read the characteristics of a werewolf, she remembered the first time she met Stevan. The man saved her from death. If she remembers carefully, the car was quite close, especially at high speed at that time. It would be absolutely impossible for an ordinary human to pull her to the side of the road. "Yes, I'm sure the street was quite quiet at that time, and I didn't see anyone walking around there. Then, where did he come from?”
Laura also reads vampire books. "No. I don't think so. He's not afraid of sunlight at all," she muttered softly.
Reynold, who had just arrived at the library, smiled when he saw Laura busy reading a book in the corner. He walked over. "Hi," he said when he sat down next to Laura. However, the woman was still unaware of his arrival. He immediately took the book from Laura's hand. "What book are you reading? Very serious."
“Eh, since when did you come? Here, return the book." Laura tried to grab the book in Reynold's hand.
“Vampire? Why are you reading a book like this?” Reynold asked. He also saw several books on the table. “Werewolves? Do you want to research mythological creatures and look for book references like this?"
"That is none of your business. I just read the story for fun. It turned out to be fun too," Laura answered as naturally as possible so that Reynold wouldn't get suspicious.
"Okay." Reynold returned the book to Laura. "By the way, what do you want to talk to me about?"
Laura put her book on the table, then looked at Reynold. "I want to ask for your help to thwart my coronation as crown princess." Laura's words made Reynold very surprised.
