“You mean she had been out since last night?”
Logan's voice had a bit of rage, he looked straight at the maid then at the clock that struck six a. m.
He had intended to be awake the previous evening to be aware of her movement, then he had been too Intoxicated by the drink enough that he had fallen asleep.
He paces, still furious about the entire incident.
“Come get me as soon as she arrives."
He was still speaking when he heard her car driving in, he clenched his fist his gaze settling on the Chauffeur.
“Where have you been?" His question was directed at the man right In Front of him.
Before he could answer as he looked on in fear , Joanne was quick to interrupt.
“You are free to go now, I'd handle this."
He watches as she moves away, he could see that glint in his eyes that looked to be hiding a bit of animosity.
" Why did you do that?” He asked.
He looked furious when he had asked and if she must do anything, it had to be not engaging him.
“I have been away all day, what I need now is rest ." She muttered.
Her voice is two tones higher than it should be, giving away the fact that she was finding all of this uneasy, he was unraveling her but the last thing she could do was give him that leverage.
But Logan isn’t convinced, for him he wanted so badly to know why she had been away, to think this was happening after she had gotten a text from Van Halen.
Two things were in his mind, one was the fact that he was jealous about all of this and the other?
He Shakes his head…
“I’m sorry. I should have been clearer,” he insists. “All I want to know is where have you been and don't tell me I don't have the right to know. I’m so sorry about how I had spoken earlier.”
There was a bit of solemnity in his voice with a hint of façaded animosity, she could term that warmness as sarcasm.
No. No… She tells herself repeatedly in her mind, insisting she wouldn't fall for whatever this was.
It doesn’t want to for her…
“It’s fine… I dont want to argue either.”
There’s no law that states that she should, no no norms as a matter of fact she’s too born to change her mind.
He forces a smile and ignores his heart rapidly beating in his chest as he speaks. “You spent the night with him right?”
The sting of her hands as it came in contact with his cheeks was quite evident, this time he wasn't able to evade it as it left a resounding sound around the room enough that even the
a guard looks up from his desk, raising an eyebrow in disbelief.
.
The silence is too long between them. It becomes a staring match, but Joanne refuses to back down.
“You slapped me because of him?" He asks, his eyes red with fury.
She ignored his questions and instead walked into the room, leaving him furious. She'd expected that he would come after her but he didn't. He let her walk away much to her relief.
Immediately, she walked into the room and she let out a deep breath. Soon she heard his bike zooming out of the driveway and walked briskly to the window just to see him turning the bend.
Immediately she sees this, she sends for the chauffeur who soon arrives in her room.
“I didn't tell him anything I swear, I kept quiet about it.” She started starting immediately he walked in.
" Good, I am not saying you said anything … I just want you to stick to that quiet as you've.”
She stared into his eyes as she spoke, her gaze sending through every bit of agitation as though making it clear what would happen if he doesn't do as she had said.
He walked out soon enough, sighing in relief.
*****
He doesn’t want to hurt anyone else unless he absolutely has to and that had led him to leaving the house, and even then, it would do nothing to subdue anger that was raging in his chest as he kept going back to that slap.
Was she in a relationship with him?
He tries thinking, it wasn't the first time she had done this and he was starting to think he had enough.
One moment she is acting all normal and In the next, she is acting like that spoiled brat she was.
Things are messier than they need to be, and some part of his mind was telling him she was being manipulated by Van Halen.
He had spoken to the man himself and knew he was far too funny for a woman as naive as Joanne to deal with.
Arriving at a club house, he walked toward the bouncer that was posted outside his door and flashes his ID showing he was of age.
Twinkling light filled the air from above, as he looked round at the half filled up vicinity, to the bartender.
.
A possessive growl rises in his chest as he walks up to the table with the air filled with a hint of putrid essence, and all he can think about is the resounding slap over and over in his mind.
He needs to claim himself, else he was going to lose it—
Checking his phone, he was still able to see any outgoing calls or text messages she’s made.
Van had sent it to her, sent only seconds ago, which gives him pause.
“I need your help. Please.” A voice interrupts.
He looks up from his phone to see a woman, blonde standing in front of him.
She had two drinks in her hands as she motioned to the strap of her dress that was coming loose.
He smiles sheepishly and helps with the strap and just as he was about to turn to the bartender, he felt a fist coming in contact with his face , sending him to the ground.
