Dazed as he watched him leave, the strange man whispered something to the bartender just as he passed by the table and tossed a free note, the sound of his car filled the atmosphere for a minute and then he was gone.

Logan watches all this exchange, still motionless he sat still at the spot unmoving, his mind thrilled by the sequence of the events that took place.

“Who the hell is that!"

His attention turned again to the file on the table, for a brief second he didn't know what to do with the file … His mind battled within him wondering if he should open or watch for a while…

“Damn, that was so intense."

Still thinking of what to do, the bartender walked toward him , he cleared his throat as he approached.

Logan, who was quite curious, looked at him for a minute. “Yes, what do you need?"

The man hesitated for a minute, not knowing if the best thing was to approach the man that was still sitting down there or walk back away to the other side.

“He asked that I hand this to you.”

Logan's attention was turned to the man again and the card in his hand, could that be what he was telling the bartender before making its way out ?

He picked up the file and grabbed the card from the man before making his way out, with his helmet firm over his head he was soon driving out and hitting the road.

*******

He was soon pulling up at the apartment and alighting from the bike, his mind still went to the file but the last thing he wanted to do was open the file right there where he was—

Almost at his door, he turned to see Joanne standing at the doorway, she was dressed in a maxi skirt and shirt top while folding her hands and looking at him expressively.

He knew the question that was coming even before it was asked.

“Where are you coming from?" She asked.

His attempt to walk away was stopped by the presence of this woman, she stood in his part impeding his movement.

“I am in no mood for this." He muttered.

She rolled her eyes ." You left for hours and got back Only to say this?”

" I don't understand.”

" Well, what I am Saying is that you need to tell me what all of this is about… “ her attention is drawn to the file in his hands. " By the way, what is that?”

She points to the file…

Both of their eyes went down to the file, he stood there still, unwilling to share that bit of information with her.

“I will speak to you later." He muttered before walking back to his room.

******

He opens his eyes.

Twenty minutes had passed since he got back inside, the shower stopped and he ran a finger through his hair. His phone buzzed by now the soft glows from the moonlight were starting to feel in that room.

A feeling of uncertainty overtook him, to get rid of the thud he was feeling in his chest, he picked up the file finally,he explored the rough edge's in the paper that looked like someone was trying to burn the file.

Taking note of the crisped papers and tye

obscene amount of dust, he finds nothing of interest at first in the first three pages, as a matter of fact he was about to give up and drop the file.

The next chapter flipped Open by mere chance and he stared at it for what seemed like a long while, he couldn't hide the feeling that was raging through his heart.

“What is this, this is quite impossible." He muttered to himself flipping through the pages again and again…

It was all there, he could see why whoever it was, had been trying to get rid of the paper but still his mind was rattled.

“Who the hell is this man!"

He picked up his phone and tried reaching for the card he had gotten from earlier, he flipped through the call log, surprised to see that it had so many calls .

There’s missed calls from Joanne, calls that he had missed when he was most probably on the bike or perhaps engrossed in the conversation he was having with the man.

He can't bring himself to call back, nor send a message, all he did was look and scroll past it to the man's number.

He was about to dial the number when he heard the sound of a knock on the door again, he grumbled to himself making way toward the door while hiding the file.

He opened and saw Joanne standing right there with a wine bottle in her hands.

“Truce?" She pouted her lips.

He didn't say a word but merely walked away, leaving the door opened for her to walk in.

“You look tired…”

“I’m fine. Just have a lot on my mind.”

She walked back from the table, a pop noise filled the room as the dripping sound of the wine being poured into glass filled the room .

He was still busy over his phone, she could still see how restless he was. “Is this about the file?"

Her heart beats wildly in her chest, as she waits for an answer.

He turns off his.phone and tries not to think of the situation, but it’s useless… not with how her scent lingers in the room.

She is losing her mind. She could feel herself shivering—

Stepping aside he walked back to where the file had been and pulled it out.

He looked over at her, his heart beating heavily each second that passed.

“That is it, you want to know what this is all about, most definitely you'd get it.”

She flips through the pages as well, immediately her jaw dropped in shock as well.

“Where did you get this from?" She asked.

" A random person dropped it by, that was why I left .”

“If this is legit, we have a massive weapon at our disposal."
