The Glory of the Female Knight

I am a duke's daughter. Three years ago, I married the captain of the knights' order amidst everyone's blessings, when he passionately promised to love only me for life. However, upon his return from three years of southern campaigns, he wants to take the Empire's first female knight commander as his wife. They say this is true love, that even His Majesty the King has made an exception to approve it. They want me to be an understanding wife, to continue managing family affairs and caring for his mother—essentially treating me like a servant. Ridiculous! I am a duke's daughter, my father's blood flows through my veins, and I never bow to oppression! When I saw them making love in the glass conservatory where my father once planted tulips for me, when I heard my mother-in-law tell me to please other men for the family's benefit, when I faced the sword point of my husband's mistress, I finally understood— I don't need this kind of marriage, this kind of future! I want a divorce, I want to return to my family, I want to become a brave and skilled female knight! To restore my family's glory!
