Chapter 198 We End It

Chapter 198 We End It

Draco’s POV

The call from Renzo settled what needed settling.
He handled it. Clean. No loose ends, no uncertainty, no chance of anything circling back to us from that direction. Exactly what I expected from him. That wasn’t the part that stayed with me.
What stayed with me was how close it came.
One man, acting on instinct, following movement he didn’t understand, and he still managed to get eyes on us long enough to become a problem. That meant something simple and dangerous at the same time, our movements were visible if someone was paying attention.
I stood at the head of the table, my hands resting against the edge, my gaze moving across the room without focusing on any one person. Giovanni leaned back in his chair, relaxed on the surface but watching everything. Nico stood off to the side, already keyed in, already waiting. Gino sat with his laptop open, though his attention wasn’t on the screen. Bella stood near me, quiet, steady, thinking instead of reacting.
That’s why I trusted her.
“Nothing shifted online,” she said, her voice even, cutting through the silence without raising it.
I nodded once. That confirmed it.
“This stayed physical,” I said. “Which means we keep it that way.”
No one argued. No one questioned it. Because they understood the difference.
I pushed off the table slowly, straightening as my attention sharpened. “We’re done waiting,” I said.
That shifted the room. Not loud. Not dramatic.
But focused.
Nico’s mouth curved slightly, not into a grin, just enough to show he’d been waiting to hear that. Giovanni didn’t move, but his eyes sharpened. Gino finally looked up from the laptop.
Bella didn’t react outwardly. She didn’t need to. I felt the shift from her anyway.
“We saw what we needed to see,” I continued. “We know where he was. We know how he’s holding that location.”
“And now we hit it,” Nico said, already stepping into it.
“Yes,” I replied. “But we hit it a certain way.” I said as my eyes flickered over everyone on the room.
Giovanni leaned forward slightly, resting his forearms on his knees. “About time,” he muttered.
I looked at him briefly. “You’ll get your part. Trust me, I definitely need you and your team in there.” I said as I smirked at him.
That pulled a faint smirk of his own from him.
I turned my attention back to the room. “This isn’t reckless,” I said. “We’re not walking in blind. We’re going in controlled.”
Nico shifted his weight, already engaged. “Charges,” he said.
“Yes. Plenty of them. So you and your team are in it as well.” I said with a nod.
His smirk grew just a little. “I’ll make it clean.”
“I know you will,” I replied with certainty.
Then I looked at Giovanni. “You and your team are muscle and structure. You hold the line, control the space, and make sure nothing gets out that shouldn’t.”
He nodded once. “Done.”
No hesitation. No questions. That’s why I used him for this.
Then I shifted to Renzo’s absence, but not in a way that treated it like a weakness.
“Renzo’s team runs ghosts,” I said. “Entry, movement, silent clears. No noise unless it’s necessary.”
Gino leaned back slightly. “You want him back for this,” he said.
“Yes,” I replied. “He’s already on his way, he’s clear.”
Bella finally spoke, her tone calm but precise. “You’re committing all three teams,” she said.
I looked at her. “Yes.”
“That’s not small,” she added.
“No,” I agreed. “It’s not. But it's necessary. Did you hear the number they reported they have there. It's not small either.” I reminded her.
Because this wasn’t meant to be small. This was meant to end something.
I straightened fully, letting the room settle into the weight of it before I continued.
“We move in one hour,” I said.
That was enough. No countdown needed. No repeated instructions. They all knew what that meant.
Nico pushed off the wall, already moving toward the door. “I’ll get my team ready,” he said.
“Make sure your charges are precise,” I added.
He glanced back over his shoulder. “When are they not.”
Fair.
Giovanni stood next, rolling his shoulders slightly as he moved. “My men are already ready,” he said.
“They always are,” I replied.
He gave a small nod and headed out.
Gino closed his laptop with a quiet click. “I’ll coordinate comms,” he said.
“Keep it tight,” I told him.
“Always do.” he replied as he got to work. He stood and followed the others out.
That left just me and Bella in the room. The silence that followed wasn’t empty. It was focused.
“You’re going hard on this,” she said, stepping closer.
“Yes.” I admitted as I looked her in the eyes.
“No hesitation,” she added.
I looked down at her. “We’ve seen enough hesitation.”
She studied me for a second, then nodded slightly. “Then we finish it.”
“That’s the plan,” I said.
She reached out, her hand resting briefly against my chest, not stopping me, not questioning me, just grounding the moment. Then she let it fall away.
“Be careful,” she said.
I smirked faintly. “Always am.”
She didn’t argue that. Because she knew better.
I leaned forward and brought my lips to hers. I nipped at her bottom lip. Our kiss was gentle and soft. Once we pulled back I laid my forehead against hers.
“I love you Cara Mia. I love our babies as well. I want you on comm as well.” I say in a voice just above a whisper.
“I love you Draco. Please be safe.” she whispered back.
I turned and headed for the door, stepping out into the hallway where movement had already started. Men were gathering, voices low, controlled, focused on preparation instead of noise. Weapons checked, gear adjusted, everything falling into place the way it always did when it mattered.
This wasn’t chaos. This was structure.
I walked through it without slowing, my presence enough to keep everything aligned without needing to say a word.
One hour.
That’s all it would take.
Because once we moved, we weren’t coming back without finishing it.
