CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

DENISE'S POV

"How did you know I was outside?" I asked, wanting to know what his excuse would be. I totally forgot about our previous argument.

"Umm… um…I heard the knock on the door" He said, stuttering. I knew all he was a lie, I gave him a blank stare which made him uncomfortable.

"Wow, what a guess huh," I said with a fake smile and he nodded his head while faking a chuckle.

"Why did you call it a trap then? Besides you didn't open the door till the full moon came out" I asked, he stood up from the chair and started walking around the living room.

"Okay you caught me, I was the one that sent the message to you using Audrey's phone, and as for Audrey's voice during the call I forced him to say those before leaving for Andi's house" he confessed. He didn't feel any remorse as if what he just did was right, I wanted to smack him but I realized it wasn't that deep.

Wait a moment, did he just say Audrey left for Andi's house, but why? Audrey and Andi don't talk although the three of us were close then. Is there something Audrey isn't telling me?

I decided to forget about that and focus on why Lionel had trapped me any time I see Audrey, we can talk about it.

"So what was your plan exactly? You wanted to see if I was truly a wolf or what?" I asked and he didn't have anything to say, he opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.

He sat beside me and kept quiet, I continued staring at him expecting an explanation but got none.

"Are you going to say something"? I asked, getting tired of waiting for his silence. He signed and looked at me.

"I was jealous okay, you and Blanc were getting too close making me jealous," He said, running his hand through his hair.

I was surprised, he was jealous. He hardly noticed me. He even belittled me today in the presence of his whore.

"You were what? You don't even like me and besides, how was trapping me going to make you feel less jealous?"

"Well, I used her to ease my stress because I was thinking about you a lot," he said. Every word that came out of his mouth shocked me. I stared at him for more explanation. "And I read on the internet that when a girl is trapped, she falls for the guy who saves her that very moment" he continued.

I burst into laughter after he had said that. He is more childish than I thought and I loved it.

"Why are you laughing, I'm serious," he said, and I tried to hide my laughter but it was impossible.

"I'm sorry, but that was the most funny thing I have ever heard," I said, still chuckling. His face was already having a shy appearance and I knew if I laughed even more, he was going to pray for the ground to swallow him so I had to hide my laughter.

"First of all, Blanc and I aren't even friends, we are trying to keep the Gem safe and I think we should start all over again," I said and the expression on Lionel's face was priceless, he grinned from ear to ear, excited about the way things turned out. That's the kind of joy I want to see on my lover's face.

"Hi I'm Denise," I said, introducing myself, I stretched my hands towards him for a handshake, my smile was wide across my lips as I felt butterflies in my stomach.

Lionel looked at me and said, with haste, he accepted my handshake and said, "I'm Lionel's, your best friend's elder brother and your mate as well" he said, making me giggle.

At least, besides all the drama I can still build a love life with my mate.

BLANC'S POV

"So you told her those horrible things about me huh?" I yelled at Lucas.

He just looked at me amused by my outburst. I didn't know why I was angry but in a real sense, Lucas was being manipulative. He wanted me to be on his side by all means.

I do not know why I feel that Dracula and he had a dark past together. I could feel their intense stare at each other earlier today when we saw Dracula.

Dracula seemed like a threat to Lucas of course, he should be a threat because Dracula is deadly and gets whatever he wants.

"You aren't happy I made you look good while telling her your story, because I know you like her," he said, making me a little bit unstable. I was glad that he didn't tell her everything though.

"Yeah, but you won't have said I was a slave, she might think I'm weak or something," I said in a murmur making Lucas chuckle.

"So are you with me or with Dracula?" He asked, and I had no choice but to be with him now that Denise knows about Dracula's schemes. I nodded my head, indicating that I was with him. We sealed it with a handshake.

Speaking of Dracula, I wonder where he went with Denise's mother. I hope he didn't see what I just did knowing he has his eyes everywhere.

"Can you stop thinking about Dracula? Your fear for him can lead to your death" Lucas said sternly and I nodded immediately although I knew that the fear was still there.

"So what is our new plan?" I asked, sitting down on the couch. Lucas used his hands to rub his chin searching for a plan. It was obvious he was yet to get a new plan.

"I don't know but since I saw Denise, I have been having strange feelings although, I'm not too sure about these feelings," He said, making me more interested. I haven't felt any strange feelings aside from the fact that I have been unable to read her thoughts.

"What could that feeling be?" I asked, my gaze piercing through Lucas. He signed and crossed his legs.

He gave me a serious stare and said, "I think she's hybrid"
