Chapter 180 EPILOGUE

Chapter 180 EPILOGUE
FIVE YEARS LATER

There's a coronation happening.

I'm going to have a crown placed on my head right next to the two men who mean the world to me.

With our twins getting two little crowns on their heads as well.

It's surreal even as I stare out the window at the Pack preparing.

There's going to be so many people here and Full Moon members have also come to join the preparation.

Familiar hands wrapped around my stomach.

“It's almost time,” Stephan whispered.

“Are you sure we should be doing this? I feel like a hypocrite.”

“I think the goddess coming down to tell all the Alphas gathered that we're here chosen rulers is sign enough that we did something right.”

Yeah, that happened, how could I forget?

She'd hugged me, literally. Her skin looked like glass but felt so soft it was like hugging clouds.

And then she blessed me, thanked me for doing something no one else has ever done before, united all wolves regardless of their faction as well as the witches.

Edwina became the head witch after she got our support. Having a wolf army supporting you was definitely something powerful.

My heart was full.

I'd gone from having bad news every day to having an entire five years of peace, my people grew in numbers and even Melanie got married to her mate.

Tiana was in med school now as she'd always wanted and she'd grown closer to Caly, meaning my friendship with Diana was closer than before.

But I missed my best friend and her visit for the coronation is one of my highlights.

“Mummy! Denzel won't give me his shoes!” Rose ran into the room screaming at the top of her voice.

I sighed, solitude over and turned to my baby girl in her pretty dress, cheeks pink with anger.

“Why do you want his shoes? What's wrong with yours?”

“I.. I,” she stood, racking her brain for the reason she was feeling what she was feeling.

I wrapped her little frame in my arms and headed to their bedroom.

I'd say it's too early for their powers to show up but then I had mine around the same age. I just hope nothing happens to us, I'll give the goddess hell if she puts my babies through any inch of the hell that my life was.

We've suffered, three of us, our offspring deserve peace.

As I walked out of the children's room making sure they were dressed, I ran into Tiana.

“Oh look at you,” she gushed, and I engulfed her in a tight hug.

“You look well, India looks good on your skin,” I say, pinching her tanned cheeks.

“Right? And I have something else to share,” she said, pulling back and giving me her hand.

“Is that…”

“He proposed last night!”

“Oh my goodness!” I squealed, wrapping her in a tight hug.

Liam finally got his head straight. I don't know at what point both of them kicked it off but it's been explosive and dramatic and since she was in school, I feared it was over.

But last week, right in the middle of the preparation, the man took a well-deserved leave and went to meet her and now, they're going to be Chosen Mates.

The most romantic thing a modern wolf can do.

When everyone was ready, I walked in between Hunter and Stephan, Rose and Denzel walking ahead of us down the rug-covered stairs.

We have a palace, a system of taxation, so many strange things that we had to have several meetings to decide on.

We maintained the Council, but now, it was on rotation.

Humans needed their memories wiped afterall, else we'd have a bigger problem on our hands.

The crowns were ceremonial, a celebration indicating we've completed the five-year-long meetings held to actually decide what will work for us as a species, especially with the future generations in mind.

Hunter's lineage was the best choice for Alpha King because of how powerful he is. With the right guidance, he would have been stronger than he turned out to be.

And I have the Moon-born gift, something that isn't passed down to the future generations but Selene decided that this was the way forward because of me so, I get a position as well.

Stephan is the Alpha of the two merged Packs and I still keep the connection with Full Moon even though I can't go as often as I want with a crown on my head but one of my children will take over and I can't wait to see what they'll do with the place.

Our Shaman was officiating but as I said, it's all ceremonial. The blood oaths were made three years ago, the rules were written and broadcast to the entire population across the world and colours were chosen, to give ourselves a feeling of royalty.

The people decided to follow their goddess and they are okay with sending a percentage of their bounty to the Palace every year.

The part of all of this that Hunter and I enjoy is the court days we'd started last month.

Once a week, people bring their problems and we solve them. He's still a spy at heart and this is how he does his field work now.

I like to tease him that he just loves gossip and he kisses me each time.

The ceremony began, and we were standing at the verandah overlooking the massive crowd that had gathered from all over the world.

“Every wolf gathered here is a representative of every branch of our species in different parts of the world. It's a sign that we've grown largely in numbers, and this will please the goddess greatly,” Alpha Roman, standing next to us began. “This means that we can no longer rely on the Pack system to keep us at bay. Too many loose threads. It's time for a King, a unifying factor, one who can protect us from external threats and our own animalistic instincts. Having a King means having a royal army, having a properly monitored Alpha training academy and also, a means by which we can be proud of ourselves for the achievements we've made as a species. I introduce to you, Their Royal Majesties, King Hunter Raegison and Queen Cassandra Harrison, the first of many generations to come!”

The crowd roared but my fingers found my mates hands and I squeezed them tightly.

“We've done it,” Stephan said in my head, “we've made our world a better place.”

Yes, we have, and with this power in our hands, we'll make sure no one ever ruins it again.
