Chapter 13 THE FIRST STEP OF VENGEANCE

Chapter 13 THE FIRST STEP OF VENGEANCE
(THE INTERROGATION BEGINS)
As the light flooded the bunker entrance, Dorian and Serra stood directly opposite the two agents, Cassian and Lyra, frozen in terror. Dorian swiftly brought his shaking Alpha power under control, kicking the stone lid aside.
"Bind them, Luna," Dorian said, his voice husky yet commanding. "Tonight, we have a message to send Marius."
Cassian and Lyra were still stunned by the shockwave of Dorian's roar. Dorian lunged at Cassian, using the residual kinetic energy from his power burst to pin him to the marble floor.
Serra focused on Lyra. She embraced her "Queen of Spies" role, seizing Lyra’s arm and pressing her fingers against the woman's neck, mimicking the cold pressure of a blade. This was less a physical threat and more a move to establish psychological dominance.
(THE POWER DYNAMIC INTERROGATION - No changes in this section)
Dorian pressed his knee into Cassian’s chest. "Talk, Cassian. What is Marius's next move? Where did he learn of this silver trap?"
Cassian hesitated under the Alpha's gaze. "You won't kill us," Lyra cut in, her voice thick with hatred. "That will only cause trouble for you in the Council!"
"Trouble?" Serra smiled. She didn't lessen the pressure on Lyra's neck. "No. We have a marriage problem. And now, we are solving a family issue on our honeymoon. The problem was your boss underestimating us."
Dorian was clearly impressed by Serra's quick-witted maneuver. This showed he wasn't just dealing with a captive; he was dealing with a partner who complemented his intellect.
"Look at me, Lyra," Serra said. "I know Marius thinks I'm my father's petty assistant. But I spent a lot of time at my father's desk. And now, your life and Cassian's depend on what my father taught me."
The hatred on Lyra's face intensified, contorting her features into a mask of pure venom. She realized that the 'petty assistant' was not only an Omega but a master strategist, and her fate was sealed.
(THE THREAT OF CURSED BLOOD AND THE MESSAGE)
Serra leaned toward Lyra's ear, her voice glacial. "You will inform Marius that the Luna (Serra) has discovered that her own blood (the Red Alpha lineage) is required to break the curse. This piece of information is more valuable to him than you are."
Dorian stared at Serra in shock. Serra was using the ritual text—their most critical leverage—as a weapon.
Cassian groaned under the Alpha's pressure. "Marius... he... he just wants the Luna back. He wants to break you (Dorian) using the Luna's curse to control the Council!"
"The Luna's curse?" Dorian's fury mounted. "No. The Luna's power. Her blood is my strength."
Dorian looked at Serra. "They were sent back, not to spy, but to confirm if you were a true threat. We’ve just given Marius his answer."
Serra nodded, her gaze firm. "We need them to deliver the message, Dorian. The truth, mixed with our unity, will destabilize his entire strategy."
(SENDING THE MESSAGE)
Dorian's body thrummed with Alpha energy. This was not a command given to Cassian and Lyra; it was a declaration of war sent to Marius.
"Go," Dorian roared, releasing Cassian. "Tell Marius his former Beta assistant is now his most dangerous rival. Tell him the curse is not a weakness, but a bond."
He pointed to Serra, his voice filled with possessive menace. "And tell him the Luna is mine."
Cassian and Lyra, injured and broken, scrambled out of the bunker entrance, desperate to escape the Alpha and his terrifying, strategic Luna.
(THE POST-BATTLE SILENCE AND THE NEW ALLIANCE)
The heavy stone lid thumped back into place, sealing the bunker and trapping the sudden silence between them. Dorian immediately retracted the residual Alpha power, the effort causing him to lean heavily against the cold marble wall. The crimson glow of his seal receded, leaving behind a dull, throbbing ache.
"You are reckless, Luna," Dorian managed, his voice strained. "Using the ritual text against Marius before we even fully understand it. You put yourself in immediate danger."
Serra was busy examining the area where Lyra had struggled, checking for dropped items. She straightened up, meeting his tired, furious gaze with unsettling calm.
"Reckless?" Serra scoffed, tucking the dusty parchment more securely into her jacket. "I just ensured that Marius will now obsess over me and my bloodline, not the silver he was planning to inject into your pack. His weakness is his greed. I leveraged your curse to buy us time."
She crossed the space between them, her small frame radiating immense, cool authority. Serra placed her hand on his chest, not over the seal this time, but firmly over his frantic heartbeat.
"You called me your strength, Dorian. You commanded them to tell Marius the Luna is yours," she challenged. "Did you mean it, or was that part of the performance for the listening ears?"
Dorian seized her wrist, his fingers tightening to the point of pain. His eyes were dark, filled with a primal, conflicting mix of anger and desperate need. "Everything I told them was the truth, Luna. Your blood is the key. Your presence controls my power. The moment you chose to stay, the moment you put on your own mask, you became mine. And I will use you, Luna. Just as you plan to use me."
The admission hung in the air—raw, honest, and more binding than any formal mate ceremony. It stripped away the pretense of their "honeymoon" performance, revealing the brutal, utilitarian nature of their alliance.
"Fine," Serra whispered, her eyes refusing to flinch from his intensity. "Then let’s define the terms of this utilization."
She pulled the parchment out again, its Shadow Age script glowing faintly in the bunker's dim light. "The ritual is complex. It requires not just my blood, but an exchange of power during the breaking of the seal. Marius knows this. That’s why he wanted me intact."
"An exchange," Dorian repeated, his voice barely audible. He understood the profound implication: the seal wasn't just physical; it was anchored to the core of his Alpha soul. Breaking it would require a symbiotic connection, a merging of power.
Serra leaned closer, her breath brushing his ear, a final, dangerous whisper. "The ritual requires the two parties to trust each other completely. You need my power to survive the breaking. I need your Alpha strength to withstand the exchange. Our alliance must be absolute. Tell me your next move, Alpha. Without lies."
Dorian Volcan looked at the brilliant, dangerous woman demanding honesty while holding the key to his very existence. He smiled—a genuine, predatory smile that reached his eyes for the first time. The hunt had indeed begun.
"The hunt begins where Marius hides his biggest secret," Dorian conceded, his voice low and conspiratorial. "The Silver Trap wasn't meant for me. It was meant to eliminate my last loyal ally in the Council. We find that ally first. And we turn the Council against him."
