Rachel's Pain in Stomach
Alexios kept looking back toward Rachel, “She’s going to slow us down Kalisto.”
Looking back at her Kalisto shook his head “Yeah, maybe we should have been more adamant about her not going.”
They were walking in a straight line with Kalisto in the lead and Rachel following behind. Kalisto and Alexios would sniff the air every so often. They can pick up on the Alp by scent quicker than they could by sight. They did have that small amount of Alp DNA that helped heighten their senses.
“I think I should lead since Jed, and I know this area better than you two.” Levi raised his voice so Kalisto could hear him.
Alexios chuckled and shaking his head, “Let them lead, we can follow behind.” Laughing a little louder, “They want to prove to us that they are a more dominant human.”
Kalisto shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t care let them get picked off.” The two warriors turned and walked past Jed, Levi and fell behind Rachel. “Go for it, you lead…take us back to the old homestead.” He said to Levi.
Levi just gave Jed a look “Did I piss them off?” Levi asked Jed.
“Nope, I think they are just trying to compromise.” Jed took his thumb and pointed quickly to the two warriors.
No one said another word will they walked into a clearing on the top of the mountain. Kalisto and Jed were just there earlier, walking towards where the old cellar used to be or what they remember the cellar was.
Rachel just stood in one place trying to figure out if she should go with Levi and Jed or the Warriors. Noticing, the warriors started to walk away from what was left of the old home.
Rachel just stood there; she couldn’t stop that feeling inside of her. The pain in her head went to her chest. Placing her hand over her chest she just stood there looking from Jed and Levi to the warriors. “Shit, I’m going to jeopardize someone’s life because of this pain, maybe even mine. She thought to herself, getting anxious at the thought. “Why didn’t I stay at Levi’s.” she softly to herself while still holding her chest.
“Hey! Over here!” Levi yelled to Jed. Jed took off running to where Levi was pointing.
“Yeap, it’s the cellar, we might have to break through the door.” Levi walked around it. Dirt over the years covered it. The handle and a small bit of wood were the only part exposed. Looking around for the warriors but they were nowhere in site.
“Where the hell did, they go?” Levi said
“Who the fuck knows, lets break the door and look down there.” Levi said to Jed.
“Wait Levi, if the Alp was in there the door would already be broken into or opened which obviously it hasn’t been.”
“Yeah, ok you’re right. Hey where’s Rachel?” Levi said looking around for her.
“Sitting over there.” Jed pointed towards her. Rachel sat down on the ground hoping the pain would ease up. She waived to Jed and Levi letting them know she was okay. They walked over to her, and they both bent down to her level.
“You okay, baby?” Levi asked her softly
Shaking her head, she didn’t want to tell them her chest was hurting instead of her head now. So, she just smiled and shook her head, “Yeah, just tired from walking.”
“Stay here while we go find the others, okay?” Levi rubbed her cheek with his thumb.
Smiling softly “Okay.”
The Alp had silently followed them to the clearing, he stayed behind the tree line watching them. He saw the two human males walking together while the warriors went off on their own in the opposite direction. His focus went back on the female. She is the one with the glowing soul, I tried to take it all but only inhaled partially. He thought to himself. Closing his eyes, he remembered how he inhaled her soul, it made him feel invincible and strong. But was interrupted by the humans. Smiling to himself, I’m going to finish taking the rest of her soul, I would become invincible. The queen couldn’t even touch me and make me return. The thoughts of Rachel’s soul were making him giddy with anticipation.
Rachel was looking down at the grass while holding her chest when something made her eyes look up and into the woods. The pain in her chest grew, it was so intense she didn’t think she could stand up, but something was telling her to run. Still holding her chest, she put her other hand on the ground to try to stand. Bending over trying to bring herself to a full stand, she kept eyeing the forest line. Her breathing started to hitch up. Breaking her eyes away from the trees, she looked for the boys or the warriors but couldn’t see any of them.
Not being able to stand completely straight she yelled “help me!”
The warriors were walking away from the clearing and decided to head to the cave when they heard Rachel. Looking at each other they took off running towards her. At the same time Levi and Jed heard her and they took off running towards her also.
The Alp stood in the trees watching her with his head cocked. She was looking straight at him. Somehow, she knows that he is there. Squinting his eyes to see her better, he noticed she was in pain and was panicking. Could she sense him? Could she somehow detect him since he tried to take her soul, or partially took it?
The Warriors got to her quicker since their speed was faster than a typical human. Kalisto and Alexios both stood on each side of her and held her up with their arms. “What’s wrong Rachel, did you see the Alp?” Kalisto asked her but at that moment Levi and Jed ran up to her also.
Her hands were holding her stomach instead of her head. “Talk to me Rachel, what’s going on?” Alexios asked her.
