Chapter 166 The Moment the Gamma Saw Everything
Chapter 166 The Moment the Gamma Saw Everything
Vallora you stiffened. Half the funding meant half the gains. This young wolf was bold. Hungry.
She did not open the document. Instead, she lifted her eyes and smiled thinly. “It seems you came prepared.”
“I value your time,” Elena replied smoothly. “I would not waste it.”
Vallora gave a soft scoff. “A bold appetite. But for such a small plot, you believe I would hand over half?”
Elena laughed lightly and lifted her coffee cup. “No contract ends in one leap. If half feels heavy, we can adjust. I have patience. Please review the proposal first.”
She truly was not pressed. The clock favored her. Vallora felt it. Pressure crept under her skin.
Elena had aimed high on purpose. She had promised Raven entry into this project. That promise required space. Asking directly would have drawn rejection. By retreating later, she would still land where she wished.
“This project will consume vast funds,” Elena continued. “Working with many partners invites chaos. One strong ally ensures a clean flow. Farrington Corporation offers steady capital.”
Vallora finally opened the file. Her eyes scanned the pages. As Elena spoke, a new plan formed in her mind. The land could wait. First, she would consult her father. With his consent, she could return and negotiate terms. Half was impossible. But cooperation itself might be valuable.
She rose, gripping the document. “I will consider this, Elena. I must consult my internal council.”
Elena stood as well, moving around the desk. “That is reasonable. Allow me to walk you out.”
They moved together toward the elevator. Outside, Amelia extended her hand. “Personally, I look forward to working with you.”
Vallora clasped her hand, then stepped inside the elevator with her aide.
By evening, the news had already spread. Vallora's visit had not gone unnoticed.
Speculation ran wild. A massive CBD project backed by the state. Amelia’s timing was sharp. First Nexford Biotech. Now this. If she secured even a fifth share for Farrington Corporation, her standing would be unshakable.
Dolphus's supporters grew uneasy. But results fed the pack.
Vallora sat across from her father later, laying out her analysis. She framed the meeting with Elena as a strategy, not a necessity.
“With Elena placed so high, perhaps the Gamma is reconsidering the future,” Anastasia said calmly. “There is no blood bond with my sister’s fiancé. Change is possible. Supporting Elena now earns us favor.”
She leaned back, eyes steady, waiting for her father’s response.
“Did you hold the meeting? What was their view?” His father stated.
“The meeting just ended. For a project of this scale, the elders agree that standing with Farrington Corporation is safer than joining many smaller packs. Funds remain strong, pressure spreads wide, and risk weakens. Farrington also carries weight that can shield the project.”
Her father nodded once, approval clear. “Good. This project belongs to you. Choose your path.”
Vallora rose at once. “I will have the proposal written.” She paused, seeing the crease between his brows. “Father, trust me. I will not fail.”
He waved her off. “Go.”
Once outside, she called her assistant and gave firm instructions. The proposal must be prepared without delay.
“Hurry,” she added. “No room for trouble.”
“What share do we offer,” the assistant asked.
“Thirty percent,” Vallora answered without pause.
The elevator doors slid open. Vallora stepped forward and stopped. Raven stood before her, phone in hand, the other tucked into her jacket pocket. “Careful, Vallora,” Raven said lightly. “You are blocking my path.”
Vallora shifted aside. She watched Raven walk into their father’s office. As the doors closed, her face hardened. The lift carried her down in silence.
Across town, Elena stepped out of the building beside Melvin. Their steps slowed as a loud horn cut through the air.
She looked up. Dolphus sat behind the wheel nearby. The window lowered.
“Get in.”
Elena blinked in surprise. She had thought he would head home after meeting a client. A smile curved her lips. She turned to Melvin. “You can leave early. Go be with your mate.”
Melvin grinned and nodded. “See you tomorrow.”
Elena slid into the car and buckled in. As Dolphus drove, she spoke quickly, excitement clear. “If my guess holds, RushGreen Group will approach Farrington Corporation for a partnership within two days.”
Dolphus listened with half an ear. What he noticed most was the light in her voice.
She glanced around. “This road feels wrong. Where are we going?”
“To my place,” Dolphus said, fingers closing around hers. “The client gave me fish.”
He explained as they drove. The man had caught heavy yellow croakers at sea. He wanted Dolphus for dinner. Dolphus refused but accepted the fish.
The car rolled into the garage. Elena reached for the door. Dolphus pulled her back.
Their eyes locked. His gaze felt deep. The door behind them began to close. The sound made her pulse quicken.
“What is it,” she whispered.
Dolphus leaned closer, brushing her hair aside. His voice dropped. “When I asked earlier about eating, what did you think I meant?”
Heat rushed across her face. Her breath shifted.
She had imagined it. His words had sparked hunger that felt wild and wrong. Dolphus saw the truth in her eyes. He held her cheek and bent down. With a careful kiss, he dragged Elena’s seat and lowered it so that it would be comfortable for him. As he was kissing her, he unbuttoned her shirt, then he slid his right hand down her back, as he allowed her fingers to unbutton her bra.
Elena was actually feeling the heat as she swiftly removed Dolphus's jacket. Dolphus felt that Elena was suffocating because of the heat, so he increased the volume of his air conditioner. Elena immediately removed his shirt, then Dolphus dragged her legs closer and pulled her skirt down. He looked straight into Elena’s eyes and he could feel the fire burning in her eyes. Then he bent and started kissing and rubbing his lips on her thighs.
Elena's legs started shaking under his touch. Then he dragged her pants down and stopped.
Immediately he stopped, Elena dragged him closer and said: “Please do not stop.”
Dolphus can see the hunger and fire in her eyes. He pulled her closer, then he pulled down his pants and stroked in.
Elena couldn't help but scream his name, “Dolphus.”
Dolphus looked straight into her eyes. “Please do not leave me”, he said calmly as he went deeper inside her.
They went on and on till they got exhausted.
Dolphus kissed her forehead, then lay his head close to her left shoulder as he allowed his fingers to dance and cupped her open breast.
Both dressed up and whined down a little. But as Elena wanted to get down, Dolphus dragged her back and started kissing her again.
Outside, Raphael leaned on his cane, shock freezing him in place. His eyes widened as he saw his adopted son cradle his granddaughter’s face and claim her lips.
Nicholas stood beside him, stunned. He reached out to steady the older man. “Gamma.”
Dolphus turned at the sound. His hold on Elena tightened.
The door shut fully. Inside, Elena also turned. She caught only a brief sight of Raphael leaning hard on his cane as Nicholas guided him away.
Cold washed through her. Fear rose sharp and fast. “Was that my grandfather?” she asked, voice shaking.
Lately, love has wrapped her in warmth. She had lowered her guard. She had not found the courage to speak to his grandfather about Dolphus. She planned to wait until Dolphus left the family.
But now he had seen everything.
Facing him without preparation would only deepen his anger.
“Do not fear,” Dolphus said, gripping her hand.
His phone buzzed.
Elena watched him answer. “Hello.”
Nicholas spoke softly on the other end. “Boss, the Gamma demands to see you and Elena at the old house.”
“No,” Raphael's roar burst through the line. “Tell them to come here now.”
Elena panicked.
“Understood,” Dolphus replied.
After ending the call, he squeezed her hand. “I must go. You should go home. Eat something. I will settle this.”
“But he asked for both of us,” she said, worried heavily.
“He wants me,” Dolphus answered gently. “I know his fears. I will explain.”
She studied his face. Then resolve filled her eyes. She locked her fingers with his.
“We chose this together. We face it together,” she said, forcing calm despite her racing heart.
Elena had always been strong. Only matters tied to her blood family ever shook her.
In the past, even when Drake meant everything, she never harmed the Farrington family for love’s sake.
