Chapter 132 The Breaking Point
Chapter 132 The Breaking Point
Alexander crouched in the treeline just beyond the edge of the property, the cold night air biting at his skin as he surveyed Kael Evans’ hidden home. The house sat in a quiet residential pocket on the outskirts of the city, unassuming from the outside with its modest two story structure, neatly trimmed lawn, and single car garage. But Alexander knew better. The satellite images and the hacker’s report had revealed the truth. Reinforced doors. Hidden cameras. A basement level that was far more than storage. This was not just a house. It was a bolt hole. A command node for Moonthorn’s operations in the region. And tonight it will fall.
He had brought a small elite team. Marcus. Two of his most trusted Blackwood warriors. No more. Speed and silence were their greatest weapons. They moved like ghosts through the darkness, their black tactical gear blending with the shadows. Alexander’s wolf was close to the surface, ready to shift at a moment’s notice. The bond with Maddie pulsed steadily in his chest, a constant reminder of why he was here. He sent a wave of reassurance through it.
The team approached from the rear. Alexander signaled with a hand gesture. Marcus took the left flank. The two warriors covered the right. Alexander moved straight for the back door. He tested the handle. Locked. Reinforced. He stepped back and kicked it with all his strength. The door splintered inward with a sharp crack. Alarms began to blare inside the house.
They were in.
Alexander shifted as he crossed the threshold, his white wolf form filling the narrow hallway. A Moonthorn guard appeared at the end of the corridor, raising a silver laced rifle. Alexander was faster. He leaped forward and slammed into the man, claws tearing through flesh and bone. The guard went down without a sound. Another guard emerged from a side room. Marcus took him down with a silenced shot.
The house was small but well defended. Hidden cameras blinked in the corners. Motion sensors triggered lights in the hallway. Alexander moved with lethal efficiency, clearing room after room. The living room was empty. The kitchen was clear. They found a small armory in the basement with crates of silver ammunition and encrypted laptops. Marcus grabbed the main one and secured it in his pack.
Kael Evans was in the master bedroom on the second floor. He was alone, as the intelligence had suggested. When Alexander burst through the door the man was already reaching for a hidden pistol under the pillow. Alexander shifted back to human form and crossed the room in two strides. He grabbed Kael by the throat and slammed him against the wall.
"It is over," Alexander growled. "You are coming with us."
Kael struggled but he was no match for Alexander’s strength. His eyes were wide with shock and fear. "How did you find me?"
Alexander’s smile was cold. "You made a mistake when you trusted Tamara. And Lydia. Your network is falling apart. You are next."
Marcus and the two warriors secured the rest of the house. They found more documents. Communication logs. Plans for the next attack on the Silver sanctuary. He shoved the papers into a bag and turned to Kael.
"You will tell us everything," he said. "Every name. Every location. Or I will make sure your death is slow and painful."
Kael spat at him. "You will never win. Moonthorn is everywhere. We will take your mate and your child and we will break you."
Alexander’s fist connected with Kael’s jaw. The man slumped unconscious. They bound him and carried him out to the waiting vehicles. The house was cleared. The laptop and documents were secured. The raid had been a success.
As they drove away from the scene Alexander looked back at the house one last time. It was just the beginning. Kael Evans was in custody. But the war was far from over. He would break the man. He would find every last remnant of Moonthorn. And when it was done he would bring Maddie home.
The night was far from over.
But the dawn of victory was coming.
Alexander stood in the reinforced basement room beneath the estate, the air thick with the metallic scent of blood and the sharp tang of fear. The single overhead light cast harsh shadows across the concrete floor, illuminating the metal chair where Kael Evans sat bound. His hands were secured to the armrests, his clothes already stained with fresh blood from the beating he had endured. The room was soundproofed. No one outside would hear his screams. No one would interrupt what was about to happen.
Alexander walked slowly around the chair, his footsteps deliberate on the cold floor. He stopped in front of Kael and crouched down so their eyes were level. Kael’s face was swollen, one eye almost closed, but there was still defiance in his gaze. Alexander’s voice was low and controlled.
"You are going to tell me everything," he said. "Where Tamara is hiding. Where Lydia is. The locations of the remaining Moonthorn and Ironthorn safe houses. Every elder who is still pulling the strings. If you lie to me I will start removing pieces until you beg to tell the truth."
Kael spat blood onto the floor. "You think you can break me? Moonthorn has prepared us for this. I will die before I give you anything."
Alexander smiled coldly. He nodded to Marcus who stood by the door. Marcus stepped forward and delivered a brutal punch to Kael’s ribs. The sound of bone cracking echoed in the small room. Kael gasped but did not scream. Alexander watched him carefully.
"You can make this easy or hard," Alexander said. "I have all night."
He signaled again. Marcus grabbed Kael’s left hand and began pulling fingernails with clinical precision. Kael screamed this time, the sound raw and broken. Blood dripped onto the floor. Alexander did not flinch. He had seen worse. He had done worse when the stakes were this high.
After the sixth nail Alexander stopped. "Where is Tamara hiding?"
Kael breathed heavily, sweat mixing with blood on his face. "Go to hell."
Alexander nodded. Marcus pulled the fifth nail. Kael’s scream echoed off the walls. His body jerked against the restraints. Alexander waited until the man stopped shaking.
"Try again," he said.
Kael’s voice was hoarse. "A safe house... in the eastern hills. Old cabin near the river. Lydia is with her."
Alexander’s eyes narrowed. "Give me the exact coordinates."
Kael hesitated. Marcus raised the pliers again. Kael broke. "Forty seven degrees north. One hundred twenty three degrees west. The cabin with the red roof. They are both there."
