Chapter 21: Surprise Package

" Dinner With Mrs Henderson tomorrow " Lucia read out the message that popped up on her phone.

" That damn schedule " Lucia groaned and crashed onto her bed.

She tried to recall more of what happened yesterday after she went for drinks with Mrs Lawson.

" Whiskey? " She remembered Lara asking her

" Sure " She replied and Lara grabbed two goblets from a tray, a man was holding.

After they both took a sip from their drinks, Lara said " I never thought Liam would come here with a woman today " Lara said laughing

" I presume he is not the ladies man then " Lucia replied also laughing

" Definitely not. You know Liam, Diego and I go way back in the days " Lara smiled, feeling nostalgic

" Really, tell me about it " Lucia said cheerfully

' A little dirt on him would do no harm ' Lucia smirked inwardly

" Well, we all went to the same high school, Liam and I were in the same class, Diego was our senior... I liked him and Diego... Well liked me " Lara started

" You liked Liam that J—man... '' Lucia's mouth dropped open " Did I hear that right "

" You're speaking as though he's not the one you're going to marry " Lara chuckled

" If I had an option... The truth is I'm getting married for money " Lucia said jokingly

Lara laughed heartily and asked " That's a joke right "

" Yeah it is... Continue " Lucia said laughing

" Well yes I liked him, he was really nice and he was sweet... He didn't want to break my heart so he accepted to date me " She continued

" Liam... Did not want to break... Okay " Lucia shut herself up, not wanting to ask too many questions.

" He has changed hasn't he? He's a little harsh now isn't he? "

Lara smiled

" A little? " Lara raised an eyebrow

" Fine... He's very harsh now " Lara corrected herself

" Continue "

" He was a really sweet boyfriend but I was well aware that he was anything but in love with me... And when I was damn sure was when he mentioned us breaking up after high school... He said it as though it was the deal from the start... '' Lara paused and took a sip of her alcohol.

" I decided to end it then and there so that I'll be well over heartbreak by the time we graduate... After we broke up I used Diego to mend my broken heart... " She paused again to allow Lucia take in what she had said

" That was really bitchy " Lucia commented, a little bit sloshed, she had already gulped down her glass and was on her second

" Yeah it was. He was aware of it though... When I started feeling bad I decided to come clean with him, he still loved me and I was starting to like him too, we ended up going to school together while Liam travelled out of the country to China where he met Maria Lewis... He went by his other name Light as it was monosyllabic and easy to call.... Unfortunately his relationship with Mia ended after a year and a few months " Lara concluded

" Wait a minute... Maria as in Mia the designer? " Lucia asked, her eyes clearing up from the alcohol for a minute

" Yes... Are you acquainted with her already? " Lara asked

" I wouldn't go using the word 'acquainted' now but I have met her " Lucia replied

" Do you by chance know why they ended their relationship? " Lucia asked

" No... But he's your fiance right... Why not ask him? " Lara replied

"Right... I'll do that " Lucia replied, chuckling nervously, she quickly gulped down the content left in her glass and took another glass of alcohol.

" Calm down on your alcohol intake, you're getting drunk " Lara laughed, noticing how clumsy Lucia was becoming

" I'm totally fine " Lucia said totally sloshed, she staggered almost falling

" No you're not... Go to the terrace, there's a chair there " Lara said, holding her from falling.

" Okay... I'll do just that " Lucia agreed, she moved towards the staircase, staggering as she walked, almost falling to the ground

" Be careful there... Should I take you? " Lara offered

" No... Don't worry I'm good " Lucia replied struggling to get upstairs.

She went to the terrace and sat herself down on a stool, zonked to stupid, her eyes slowly shut as she almost fell asleep, not until she heard Liam's husky voice ask " Why are you here? "

She quickly opened her eyes as a wicked smirk curved up her lips.

Lucia groaned and kicked her legs in the air in a fit of fury, unable to believe she did all that last night, she couldn't tell which one was worst, not remembering anything at all or remembering everything there was to it, more importantly she had embarrassed herself in front of Liam by making herself look like a ' make out freak ' and worst of it all, Liam did nothing but let her.

" I think I know why his girlfriend broke up with him... It's because he's a total jerk whose life mission is to keep people indebted to him " Lucia shouted, still raging nearly

" And now he mocks me nonstop whereas he could have stopped me from going crazy... Unless he was enjoying it too, that bastard " Lucia growled, she looked around her room and her eyes caught sight of a huge teddy bear lying across the room. She strode towards it and launched at it, taking out her anger on the bear by strangling it.

" Oh left for me I would have killed but you are my two time boss, who's mom I'm seeing tomorrow " She said through gritted teeth still strangling the bear.

" That's right I'm seeing that jerk's mom tomorrow... I have to make an impression " She said to herself, letting go of the bear.

She sat on her bed as she talked to herself " I shouldn't focus on that jerk today... I have to make his mom believe that I am his fiancee. I didn't do too well the first time because I was unaware... But now I know, I have to come back with a bang "

" A surprise package " She smirked
