Open windows surrounded them, and a sense of humiliation and unease wrapped around her.

"You don't get to choose." Jamie grabbed the woman by the throat. "Remember, you're the one who came begging me!"

That sentence made Rachel's whole body tremble.

Yes, she was the one who had come to beg Jamie.

As Jamie walked toward her step by step, Rachel closed her eyes, trying to shut out her senses from this humiliating scene. His movements weren't gentle, carrying a sense of punishment and venting, until an hour later. Jamie finally left. Rachel stared blankly at the ceiling. The air was filled with a mixture of coffee fragrance and intimate scents. A tear slid from the corner of her eye.

Rachel bit her lip. She slowly sat up, changed her clothes, and hugged herself.

Belatedly, she touched her abdomen.

She was afraid Jamie had hurt the baby inside her.

Fortunately, the baby was fine.

Rachel returned to the hospital, where the doctor was discussing specific surgery arrangements with Isaac.

And Jamie was there too.

Isaac kept thanking Jamie profusely.

He was practically ready to kneel before Jamie.

Claire and Joe also rushed over. When they learned that Jamie and Elmer were a match, both their faces showed complicated expressions.

"Jamie, I don't care what you want to do, donating a kidney is your choice, but if you dare take this opportunity to hurt Rachel, I won't let you off!"

When Natalie learned that a kidney source had been found for Elmer, she immediately came to the hospital with Adrian. Just then, the doctor came out to announce that Jamie and Elmer were a match and could prepare for surgery.

Adrian frowned and exchanged a glance with Natalie.

Natalie looked at Joe and Claire, then her gaze fell on Rachel standing to the side. Their expressions were all different.

Adrian squeezed her fingers. "Are you tired? If you're tired, go home and rest. I'll stay here."

"I'll keep you company."

Later, Adrian and Jamie chatted in the hallway. By the window, Jamie lit a cigarette, his eyes narrowed with a smile, looking somewhat casual and carefree. He was smoking the night before surgery, but no one stopped him. Jamie's laughter drifted over.

But there was no trace of a smile on his face.

Natalie came to Rachel's side and touched her shoulder.
