8. Father William?
8. Father William?
I woke up very early putting on the same clothes as last night; the horrible dress with the heels, after all I had no other clothes, today we would go to the police station so they could give us the mission guidelines. When I came down, Freddy and Angelo were already downstairs with their police uniforms that made them both look undoubtedly very attractive, I went to drink some water, and I heard that Angelo went into the kitchen to drink coffee.
"Hey." I whispered, trying to break the morning ice, remembering what happened yesterday.
But he pointedly ignored me, pouring himself coffee.
Oh wow, I felt like I had Father William deja vu with his bipolarity, only this time, it was the real Angelo, not his character or his mission.
"Now are you going to do that thing of ignoring me?" I asked incredulously and even somewhat jokingly.
"I'm busy in case you haven't noticed," he said sharply, as if he had suddenly decided to hate me today, then he left the kitchen.
"Wow, what a grump." I whispered.
"Don't pay attention to him," Freddy said, entering the kitchen knowing what had happened, and he gave me a cheese roll, "he's very bitter."
"Did his mother hit him when he was a child?" I asked with some sarcasm.
"No, in fact she loved him very much," Freddy said thoughtfully. More than me, I dare say.
I didn't say anything to him, I didn't want to think about Angelo's son of a bitch anymore. I went out with Freddy to the car, however he didn't let the issue die. He began to tell me about his childhood and how very happy they were, that even Angelo was the happier and more cheerful of the two, but that everything changed when he got married and he was trapped in an unhappy marriage taking care of a sick woman. .
"That's very cruel," I admitted.
"Life isn't fair I think," he whispered.
We stood while Angelo got the car out and then Freddy stared at me, reached up and wiped the corner of my mouth where the bread was.
"Sorry, you had a few crumbs." He commented with a slight smile, his eyes looking at my lips.
Uhm, was he flirting with me or was he just being nice?
"Get on." said Angelo, breaking the bubble of kindness between the two.
We got into the car in silence and went to the police station, they gave me new camouflage clothes and a new identification as a temporary agent. When I changed the first one I saw was Freddy who seemed to be waiting for me.
"Hey, you look beautiful," he said and gave me a paper bag, "here, I brought you something for breakfast."
"Thank you, but you had already given me some bread." I said accepting it, anyway I was terribly hungry.
"A bread is not a complete breakfast." He said and gave me a coffee, I couldn't stop smiling, he was quite attentive, I was glad that at least someone was happy to have me on this mission.
"You are so sweet." I admitted.
Freddy was going to say something, but they called him so he left. I smiled, drinking some of my coffee, letting out a sigh and then I felt Angelo's presence when he approached me behind my back, I didn't turn around.
"Stay away from my brother." He blurted out.
I turned to him looking into his gray eyes confused.
"Uh?"
He gave a wry laugh.
"Don't think I don't know what you're doing."
"And what do I do according to you?" I said defensively.
"You're shamelessly flirting with him," he replied, taking another step towards me, looking annoyed, "just because you're hungry for cock doesn't mean you can go after him."
I throw the coffee on him on impulse and he jumped without expecting me to do such a thing, unfortunately the coffee was lukewarm and not hot as I would have liked.
"Don't talk to me like that, idiot," I said, "and I'm not hungry for a cock, are you?"
I threw the glass on the floor and left like hell from there to any other place.
