The Ex-Wife's Ascent

"You're annoying! Why do you care so much about us?" My 4-year-old son screamed at me. I dedicated my life to him and his father, only to be told I was a burden. Meanwhile, my husband was publicly celebrating his ex-girlfriend's birthday, the woman my son wished was his real mother. I saw their "happy family" photos, the mocking comments from our "friends," and I finally understood. My 5 years of sacrifice meant nothing. So I packed my few belongings, left the house key on the table, and walked away from the life that was slowly killing me. Little did they know, the "plain housewife" they despised was about to make a comeback they would never forget.
