Chapter 115 Her happy ever after

Chapter 115 Her happy ever after
AKIRA

\[Six weeks later\]

" You are such a beautiful bride" the woman behind me whispered.

I smiled, adjusting the veil on my head and letting her adjust my make up.

" Of course she is. She is my daughter" Aunt Loretta said, coming in, her dazzling yellow dress sweeping the floors of the room.

She was smiling, a rare feat that started suddenly after her daughter's murderers were brought to justice and did not stop.

" The groom is all anxious at the altar. I'm sure he can't believe that he will get such a beautiful woman to be his for all of eternity" aunt Loretta joked and the whole room bawled with laughter.

The groom....

I remember getting down on my knees anxiously to ask for his hand in marriage two
Weeks after I rejected him. I remember how his face had lit up for a brief moment before he took the ring from my hands, pulling me up and kissing the soles of my feet.

" You should never kneel before me. It will always be the other way around"

I know I cried because my vision blurred and the thought that I could have lost a man I loved so much just because of fear raked my being.

I was scared again. But this time, it was not of marrying him. It was about what the future held for us.

What if I couldn't have kids? What if he lost interest in me? Would he even love me after waking up to my morning face every day?

" Whatever thoughts you have going on in your head, trust me, they are just noise. You will be the best bride and an even better wife. He is so lucky to have you and I will make sure I remind him every single day" aunt Loretta said.

Her hands rested on my shoulders, cradling my face as she stared at me with the love that my birth mother could never phantom for me.

I did not believe in God after everything that happened to me. He was a myth to me now. But perhaps...did this God finally decide I was worth everything after all? Why would he give me so much more than I could ever want?

" The bride should be done now! I don't want her crying again, we should get her to the wedding hall and married. I don't think our groom can contain his excitement any longer" one of the stylists said.

That was my cue. I bundled my big dress into my hands and I gave aunt Loretta a smile, the one genuine smile I could muster in this moment.

" You are a blessing to me mom, thank you"

She nodded quickly, pulling me into her arms as the tears slipped from her own eyes.

" Thank you for being my daughter" she whispered back.

I could hear the hymn playing before I got to the door. The gown suddenly felt stiff on my chest as I hummed, clutching to Aunt Loretta like she was my only lifeline, the one person that I deemed fit to walk me down the aisle.

The minute the doors opened, the hymns grew louder. I could hear the gasps and side talks that emanated as I stepped through the halls, the bouquet in one hand, heart pounding in my chest.

" She is so pretty" I could hear someone from the front row whisper as I passed them and finally, I was standing in front of the man of my dreams, and my soon to be husband.

" You look so beautiful. I can't believe I will be able to call you mine" he whispered softly as he held my hands, eyes meeting mine.

" Now that the two parties are here, can we begin?" The pastor asked.

I gave a small gasp when he pulled out a long note, his eyes wide and hands trembling ever so slightly as he stared at me, that unsure look in his eyes.

I listened to his vows, watched his voice tremble with the excitement, a tear rolling down my eyes.

God, I did not deserve something so perfect.

" Do you, Mr Bryan take miss Silvio to be your lawfully wedded wife? In sickness and in health till death do you part?"

"I do" he said.

" And do you, miss Silvio, take Mr Bryan to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, till death do you both apart?"

I thought for a minute. I allowed myself bask in the fear of failing, the fear of ruining this love that we shared.

" I do" I said finally, the whole church erupting into cheers.

" In that case! I declare both of you, by the power vested in me, husband and wife!"

My smile grew and I felt his hands wrap around me, lips crashing into mine with the passion of a thousand men, our bodies entwined together as the band started playing a song from my favourite artist, my eyes dampening as I thought again.

Truly, I did not deserve this.

" I love you so much. I will never, ever trade anything for you" he whispered over and over as though he was so afraid that I might forget it.

The rest of the ceremony went by in a haze, people walking up to congratulate us and present us with gifts, business partners that wanted to know how we would manage to run three companies alone.

" Let's get out of here. It's becoming a big overwhelming for you" Bryan said gently.

I smiled. He was right. I was beginning to dread the next person that would come up to me with the same smile and words of encouragement.

So instead, we snuck into a dressing room, his hands cradling my head there as we both leaned in each other and in that critical moment, I realized I was wrong.

God did not make a mistake.

I did deserve all of this.

I deserved my happy ever after.
