Chapter 102 A plotted rescue

Chapter 102 A plotted rescue
LEON

The van was in no better shape than their cells. In fact, it was worse. The second time my head hit the van floors, I was ready to get down and walk.

" You could try to be more gentle with the driving" I yelled out to the driver, disregarding the two officers that sat in front of me, strapped in.

" You could have tried to not murder people but you did so here we are" one of the police officers said and they burst out laughing.

I gritted my teeth, the end of my reign suddenly feeling closer than I thought.

But that was until the van came to a screeching halt, everybody including the officers tumbling as we struggled to gain our balance.

I groaned, my hand cuffs piercing into my skin as I tried to get up.

" Joe what the hell was that for? And why did you stop?" One of them called out but there was no response.

"Joe?!"

Still no response.

" I will stay with the prisoner, go check up on him" one of them said, instantly pulling a gun from his belt in preparation.

The minute the doors flew open and the officer stepped out, a gun shot followed, and another.

I froze. The officer clutched onto his gun in a panic as he stared at the open door, the attacker still not visible.

The air seemed to shift the minute he took a step forward and in an instant, his head was sliced clean off his head. Gone.

The blood splatter, decorating the walls of the van that once served as my temporary prison and somehow, prison did not sound as terrifying as it did.

" So you are the one. You look scrawnier than in the pictures" a masked man said.

I could almost feel him winking underneath that hood, toying with my mind.

" Who the hell are you guys and what do you want from me?" I forced myself to ask but got no response.

Instead, he jerked me off of my seat, opening the hand cuffs and leading me into a beautiful SUV.

The longer the car drove, the more my anxiety grew.

" Where are we going?"

" Don't you shut up with the questions?! If we wanted you dead you would have never left that stupid van in the first place. So shut it" the man driving said.

" Don't listen to him. Scorpion can get a bit aggressive like that. We can't answer your questions, but we were asked to rescue you for our boss" the smaller one said.

I could not understand this, how I had gotten myself involved with someone so deadly, and why, whoever this person was, wanted to save me.

The mansion we stopped at was nothing short of a palace. From the walls of the building that seemed to be decorated in little adornments, down to the door, I could tell that whoever owned this was clothed in opulence.

" Sit down there, the master will join you soon" one of them said before retreating into an adjoining room.

I was not comfortable. A good part of me wanted to run away and get far enough from this place but before I could put that thought into action, a voice sounded behind me.

" Ah, Leon. So we meet finally. I'm quite bummed that we had to meet like this, but don't worry, I won't make it awkward".

The man that walked in was a tall and heavily muscled man. His suit seemed too small for his frame but somehow complimented his posterior as he walked towards a room, gesturing for me to follow him.

My feet moved on their own accord, sheepish to this man in front of them.

" Who are you?" I finally asked.

" Well I presume you won't be able to recognize me from the voice modifier and everything..I am the one who has been giving you instructions on Akira. The one who holds the secret to your father's death"

I paused in my tracks abruptly. No.

I had sometimes imagined this day. But it was never like this. I was supposed to be the man in the suit and he was supposed to walk in begging for help.

" Why are you stopping ? Lunch would get cold and I don't think you want cold pastries"

He pushed the door open to reveal a gigantic table set with different food and drinks.

He was comfortable, sitting at the head of the table as he gestured with his hands for me to follow suit.

But I wanted to leave here. Now.

" Thank you for saving me, but I would like to take my leave now" I said.

His eyes blazed almost instantly, the cool demeanor he displayed a few minutes ago vanishing into thin air.

" Don't make me repeat myself. Sit."

I gulped, knowing I did not have a say in this. My legs lowered themselves into one of the huge chairs and finally, his gaze dropped.

" I wonder why most humans only react to violence. You could have just sat down from the onset but no, you chose to let me raise my voice. Do you see me as a maniac now?"

He casually continued to munch on the meat in front of him, pointing at me to take a bite of it too.

I took a small chunk off the meat, placing it in my plate as I stared at it, zero appetite for it.

" You should eat. This meat is very delicious. Her name was Sheila. She used to work for me and I was expecting it to be hard as a rock, because that girl, heavy weight lifter. "

He paused to lick his hands, a small chuckle leaving his lips, before taking another big chunk off the meat.

"But it's so tender".

The fork slipped out of my fingers as I stared at this man in shock.

What?!

He paused.

" What? You will get used to it. But for now, I should tell you what you really need to know. Why Akira has to die in my hands "
