Epilogue
Epilogue
Author's POV
Watching Deathfang Pack from up here, I can almost smell the aroma of peace.
Saviour hugs Aul, bidding him goodbye right before he gets into his ride with Kira who isn't feeling too strong at the moment.
A smile grows on my face because although she doesn't know it yet… She's pregnant. And just maybe, Nala can finally have a baby sister.
Leo waves, watching them go. Though he will never admit it, Aul is quite interesting to be around. And sometimes he finds himself wondering what it would have been like if Callum was here too.
Well, they all would probably be dead because his brother is still a little insane.
Leo exhales loudly then turns to Milly, who's standing at the entrance of the pack house.
Why the goddess still gave him a mate so gorgeous… after all the wrongs he's done… Leo will never understand. But he's certainly not complaining.
He runs up to her, finding it cute… the way she fiddles with the hem of her sleeve.
He leans closer, dropping his voice so only she can hear. “You know… I was thinking,” he starts, ignoring the way his heart pounds.
Milly tilts her head. “Thinking about what?” She whispers shyly.
“That maybe,” He stalls, his face leaning toward hers, their noses almost touching.
Suddenly Leo forgets everything on his mind, his eyes flickering down to her lips, hungry and nervous.
Milly’s cheeks redden, but before he can get closer, she puts her hand on his forehead and gently pushes him back.
“Leo.” She scolds, glancing around.
“What?” he groans, pretending to look hurt.
“Not now,” she says, though her lips twitch with the smile she’s fighting.
“Why not? Now is perfect, the mood is perfect, you’re perfect…a kiss would be perfect.”
“Leo,” she cuts him off, shaking her head. “No.” she insists.
Leo steps back with a nod, remembering her lesson last night… No means no. “You're killing me,” he mutters.
“Good,” she replies with a grin.
From across the pack house, under some trees, Jace scrunches his nose, watching the adults. “I don’t get the hype about kissing anyway.” he says.
Amari bursts out laughing. “That’s because you’re still a pup.”
“I’m not a pup!” Jace snaps, genuinely confused about how people enjoy swapping saliva.
“You sure are.” Amari teases.
“Then you are too. Because you're always hanging around pups.”
Amari scoffs, “Babysitting, and hanging around are two different things.”
Nala grins, leaning forward. “Don’t worry, Jace. You’ll get to kiss me when I’m older.”
Solan jerks up, his whole body stiff. “What did you just say?” He asks, voice sharp like a whip.
Nala blinks innocently. “It’s true.”
Solan glares at Jace. “You stay away from her.”
Jace throws his hands up in panic. “We’re not dating! We’re not anything!”
Amari laughs so hard she nearly falls over. “Oh, this is hilarious,” she wheezes. “Solan, you’re acting like he can’t date our sister at all. They can, when they grow up.”
“He can’t!” Solan shouts, standing now, his fists clenched.
Jace shrinks back, the sun bringing out the startling streaks of green in his eyes. “I don’t even like her like that! I already… I already like someone else, okay?”
The group freezes, all eyes falling on Jace. Even Solan's brow furrows in confusion.
Nala sighs with a shrug. “Guess I’ll just pick another boy then.” she mutters to herself.
“Who is it?” Solan asks, still glaring at his best friend.
Jace’s ears burn bright red as he shifts his gaze to the grass. “No one!”
“Who is it, Jace?” Solan presses, stepping closer.
Jace stutters, staring down at Amari with pleading eyes but she simply chuckles.
Solan grabs his chin, tilting his face up. “Look at me. Tell me who.”
Jace’s eyes expand in terror. Suddenly, he pushes Solan away before running off to the back of the pack house.
“Jace!” Solan yells, chasing after him with insane speed.
Nala sighs, shaking her head. “Boys…” she mutters. “They are so immature. I guess I'll have to stick with Grandpa for a little longer.” She says, getting up and heading towards the old man who's stepping back into the pack house.
Amari quietly rises to her feet. She brushes the dirt from her clothes. Then her eyes wander around, searching.
Her face lights up in a smile when she spots him.
Gafar sends her a wink and she smiles to herself.
She nods towards the woods, watching his eyes widen. She doesn't wait, making her way to a spot she knows he'll easily find her.
Gafar looks around… with the coast clear, he hurries after her.
She may not be his mate but goddess, he truly loves her. And he'd risk everything… even his head for her.
“Throne, calm down,” Victor chuckles when Throne throws him on the bed.
“This is payback for the blue balls you gave last night, honey. So you will be a good boy and take everything I give you.” He grunts, tearing off his shirt, the buttons flying.
Victor gasps, his eyes wide. “Isn't that the shirt I gave you for New Year's Eve?!”
Throne only chuckles before pressing their lips together.
Raven freezes as Saviour's arm settles around her waist.
“No,” she exclaims, attempting to run out from the room.
Saviour chuckles. “You don’t even know what I’m about to say.”
“Yes, I do.” She laughs, trying to push him off.
But he pulls her flush against him.
“Just imagine it,” he whispers, his lips brushing her ear. “A little boy running in our midst.”
Raven pants, her face burning. “Saviour! I didn't get a wink of sleep because of you last night. Get off me.” She shoves at him, but he only pulls her back in, his hands firm like rods.
“Tell me you didn't like it, you pretentious pup. I remember you meeting every one of my thrusts.” He whispers before kissing her, deep and slow, ignoring her feeble attempts to resist.
Raven breaks away with a gasp. “The kids might come in!”
“I already locked the door.” He says with a grin.
Her eyes widen when she feels the hardness pressed against her stomach. “Gods, you’re insatiable.” She mumbles into his chest, sighing when his hands gently grab her butt cheeks.
“It's all good.” I say to myself. “There won't be trouble for a while. And even when another problem arises, they surely can take it on together.”
