Eyes bright with dark intent
Saviour's POV
Alpha Kaelen sits at the head of the dining table as usual.
Cool breeze rushes in through the open windows, the sound of the gentle wind mixing with soft talk.
Nala, who's sitting beside her grandpa, sticks her hand in his plate, taking out a piece of bread.
Alpha Kaelen is too busy nodding to whatever new tale she's telling him to be bothered when she starts feasting on his food.
She whispers something in his ear, causing him to throw his head back in laughter. When he's barely recovered, my baby, being the thoughtful angel she is, picks up a piece of meat, reaching for his mouth.
Alpha Kaelen doesn't even think twice about it before biting down on it.
Her eyes shine bright as a smile blossoms on her face.
Across from me, Leo leans back lazily, his mischievous gaze fixed on Aul.
He's only been with us for a few days but he acts so casual like he doesn't feel a bit of discomfort.
I always have my eyes on him but I'm not sure how to feel about him now that I've realized he's not the monster I once knew.
“So,” Leo drawls, setting his empty cup down. “Tell me, dear brother. Is it true that you say yes to everything your mate tells you?”
Kira glances at Aul, waiting for his response with a sly grin.
“That's none of your business, Leo.” Aul shoots, barely getting back to his food before Leo continues.
“Everyone’s talking about it. Your mate is more of an alpha than you are.” Leo grins. “Who would have thought Alpha King Saviour’s twin is nothing but a big pup.”
Kira shakes her head, continuing with her meal. At least I'm not the only one used to Leo's shenanigans.
Aul exhales slowly. “You’re deliberately trying to annoy me.” He says, keeping an unaffected gaze on Leo.”
Leo’s grin widens. “Me? Never. I’m simply making conversation. I mean, you are my long lost brother after all. I'm only trying to get to know you better.”
Milly, seated between them, pinches the bridge of her nose with a frustrated sigh.
Aul points his fork at Leo. “I would try and know you better, but I already realized on the first day I saw you that the goddess gave me a dummy for a younger brother.”
Saviour chuckles at that. And I fail to hide a smile when Leo's mouth drops in shock.
But he doesn't give up and leans forward. “Admit it, you like being bossed around by your mate…”
Milly sets down her fork with a soft clink. “Leo, keep quiet and eat.” She bites.
Leo blinks, his mouth opening like he wants to argue but then his cheeks flush a light pink. “Yes ma'am,” he mutters, picking up his fork obediently.
“Finally someone to tame your insanity.” Saviour mutters with a sly grin, earning a glare from Leo.
“Hypocrite,” Aul adds with a soft laugh.
Leo also shoots him a glare before facing Milly.
“Milly,” he whispers but it's so loud that we still hear him. “If I behave and eat my food like a good boy, do I get a reward?”
“Heck,” I cough, choking on the cup of water in my hand. Did I just hear that?
“Shut up,” Milly groans, pinching his arm.
“Ow!” he hisses but keeps his hopeful gaze on her.
“Keep eating,” she says without looking at him.
Leo grumbles with red ears but proceeds obediently, stunning those of us watching.
At the far end, Solan frowns at Jace. “Can you stop eating so loudly?” he says.
Jace rolls his eyes, speaking mid-bite. “Can you stop being bossy? Honestly it was more peaceful in your absence.” he hisses.
Solan’s lips curve upward. “Yeah? Says the same boy who confessed he couldn’t sleep without me in the pack house.”
“Haha!” Amari laughs loudly while the rest of us chuckle under our breath.
“That was private,” Jace glares, his face flushed in embarrassment.
“Well, not anymore,” Solan says without a care.
Jace keeps his hard gaze on him as he stabs into Solan’s beef with his fork, then swiftly drags it off his plate.
Without breaking eye contact, he shoves the large piece into his mouth and chews slowly, making sure he's loud.
Solan scoffs, his eyes shining in amusement.
Jace swallows, wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, and shrugs. “Tastes better when it’s yours.” But then his eyes begin to water and soon enough his pretence crumbles.
“Dang Solan! What did you put in this? A whole bucket of chilli sauce?!” Jace chokes, hurriedly grabbing the cup of milk Victor passes to him.
“You shouldn't have touched what wasn't yours. Only big boys can handle spicy beef.” Solan smirks, eating his food with ease.
“Shut up.” Jace slaps his back, making my son choke on his own laughter.
I smile, loving the laughter and joy around me. I wouldn't change anything for the world.
When I turn to Saviour, he's already looking at me.
I want to tell him, to let him know he's the best thing that's ever happened to me but then I feel it…
His hand on my thigh.
His cool fingers move slowly, yet with familiar boldness, like he's playing with something he owns.
I swallow, finding it hard to continue eating when my throat instantly goes dry, my stomach tightening as heat rushes through my spine.
Without taking his eyes off me, his fingers yank my skirt up, exposing my panties. Not thinking twice about the consequences, I slap his hand away, certain the force of it will leave a sting.
But he doesn’t pull back. Instead his long fingers tighten, sinking into my soft flesh, bruisingly warm and possessive.
“Behave,” I hiss through my teeth, my eyes darting around.
Saviour leans in, his warm lips softly brushing my ear. “Doesn’t Solan look so lonely?” He whispers, licking the shell of my ear.
I stiffen, my hand gripping the table when his fingers lightly rub my heat.
“Look at him,” he commands and I do as told, unable to withstand the depth of his voice.
My eyes drift to our son who's still bickering with Jace, looking very amused.
“Absolutely not,” I whisper back, fighting for my life as my heartbeat spikes.
Saviour chuckles darkly under his breath as his hand strokes higher. My thighs clench, instinctively trapping his greedy fingers. “I think we need to try harder… give him a brother.”
My heart pounds now, my face ablaze. I force myself to turn and glare at him, praying my desire doesn't show on my face. “Don’t you dare.”
Saviour smirks. “Oh, I will. You should prepare yourself.” he says before kissing my lips, his eyes bright with a dark intent.
