Chapter 209 A king and his god

Chapter 209 A king and his god
“When I offered you my wife, you spat in my face,” Mordaine said from the Chesterfield couch in the bedroom. “What makes you think you deserve her now?”

Hale gathered me into his arms, and brushed his lips lightly against the shell of my ear. “For you,” he whispered in that disarming baritone. “This show is for you.”

My lips were parted, my gaze hooded where I sat watching said show from the edge of the bed. “Hale,” I eased my hand back to sink my fingers in his hair.

“Yes, fairy.” He stroked my neck with his tongue, and my abs contracted in a slight tremor.

“Thank you,” I whispered.

He paused, hovering, then he pressed parted lips, soft and warm, to the hollow of my shoulder. “What for, Luna?”

My eyelids fluttered. As much as I would have preferred to speak plainly, it was an unnecessary risk. Mordaine never eavesdropped, or evaded our minds without permission. But fate might just push him to do so for the first time today, and ruin my plans.

“For this,” I responded instead, my eyes pinned on Finn who was kneeling before the dragon. “Working things out for everyone.”

“Mm,” Hale sounded intrigued, like he had only just realized he had done that. “I wanted it too,” his mouth dragged warmth across my skin. “We could not stop fantasizing about this moment in Seoul, remember? All the bad things we could do.”

Fuck. I grabbed the sheets in my fists.

“Not enough.” The dragon’s voice rolled across the room in a low rumble. I blinked back my lust to stare at the men on the opposite end of the bedroom. “She is mine to give, to loan, to own. Your new social class does not change that.”

The tension between them made my belly knot. It was a standoff between a needling dark god, and a bad-tempered king.

I felt a sudden flicker of worry. What if this ended in a real fight like the last time in the study?

But just then, I spotted a new ease in Finn's muscles. His bottom lip disappeared between his teeth, and his chin lowered an inch before Mordaine.

The dragon rose to his feet slowly, large and dark. “Did you ever need a safeword with your boyfriend?” he walked around Finn. “I’ll need one from you.”

And with that, he disappeared into our closet.

Finn maintained the straight backed position on his knees, a proud king even in capture. The dragon reappeared in a second. Barefooted, naked chest, waist-length hair woven in a single braid.

“Oh,” Hale said from behind me, surprised but amused as we stared at the leather flogger swinging in the dragon’s hand as he made his way back to Finn.

A second heartbeat started between my thighs. That flogger and I had become properly acquainted in the past few months, as was with the belt, and feather, and clamps.

“Do you have it?” He slowed before Finn, and started to move in an unhurried circle around him. “What is your safe word?”

My muscles tensed in resonance, a shared feeling with Finn at the vivid memory of what it felt like to be in his position. The warning bells from your nervous system to freeze, or fight, or flee, depending on your personality.

And when the dragon moved a hand and sank it gently in his hair, I felt that too. He massaged his scalp tenderly, inching Finn's head back till he was staring up into his eyes.

“Tell me, beautiful boy,” his voice turned gentle.

Finn stared at him a second longer, and then said, “Nymphaea.”

I shuddered in Hale’s arms, and he kissed my temple from behind. The dragon’s brows knitted as he stared down at the vampire.

“My wife’s name.”

“Yes sir.”

“Excellent choice,” his fingers continued to move in his hair, eyes burning into the stubborn aqua-colored eyes. “I can think of no stronger leash than that.”

He stepped back abruptly. “On your feet.”

Finn rose, and the dragon closed the distance between them. “I braided her hair this morning, thinking of you. Thinking of this moment.”

Finn was an inch taller than the men, but the dragon had at least twenty pounds of pure muscles on him. Even now.

There was complete silence in the room again as both men stood toe to toe. Finn swallowed, his eyes softer now. His defiance was beginning to run like bad dye.

There’s nothing he enjoys more than breaking people. Like he is going to break your little boyfriend.

That night, when Finn came with my silk panties wrapped around his dick even as he cried, was permanently burned to my brain. And it was happening again.

This was more a battle of wills than whips. The dragon was the kind of dominant you knelt for without him needing to ask. That dark energy around him, the power in his eyes that made even gods grow skittish around him. And he had been that way since our twenties.

It was more reason why the mere thought of him becoming an evil beast…

“Go unbraid her hair.” He turned away from Finn, heading for the bathroom.

“Are you nervous, fairy?” Hale touched my chin lightly, and turned my face to him.

“No,” I exhaled, the word a weightless air from my mouth. Hale smiled, leaned in and pressed those soft lips against mine. My eyes fluttered close, feeling new from the smell of that refreshing mint.

He pulled away as Finn reached us.

Finn gave me a nod and I moved from the bed. When our eyes locked, my breathing became unsteady. My chest rose and fell with every breath.

“Turn around, angel.” He said softly, and I blushed. I turned my back to him, staring in the direction of the bathroom.

Just as he took hold of a braid, Mordaine walked out with a wooden tray balanced on one hand. I blinked in surprise at the unusual content; a bowl of ice, towels which seemed to have been frozen as I could see mist curling from them, a bottle of alcohol, a black piece of cloth I could not identify.

Finn finished with the first braid, and when he sunk his fingers in my hair, our breaths hitched. He combed quickly but gently with his fingers, then moved to the next.

When he finally turned to the dragon, my hair was sitting in a kinkier wave than usual.

“Beautiful,” the dragon noted, set the tray down on a coffee table, and moved to resume his place on the couch. “We cannot be impolite hosts, little wife,” he said. Get him naked.”
