She's mine
She's mine
Isabella's POV
"Oh, so the demon now has some confidence in a land full of dragons. Make her bleed until she can't dare utter a word again."
The mob of the crowd rushed towards me, their eyes predatory as they made attempts to kill me; some were carrying dangerous tools about to destroy. I raised my hand up while my lips quivered, begging and hoping that one of them would finally come to the end of everything, but none of them did. I swallowed a lump down my throat, cold tears slowly slipping down to my cheeks. Unable to bear the pain anymore, I knew this was the only way to stop the ongoing war between Adrian and Zakuski over a woman and who was to survive. I closed my eyes, doing the one thing that never crossed my mind of doing, which was transforming into the monster that everyone believed I was. I swallowed a lump down my throat; everything came crashing down. My fur grew in length, and my sharp claws could be seen until I heard a deep masculine voice. It made my breath hitch and my heart race. Everything was happening so fast I couldn't seem to fathom the whole process until he whispered coldly to the people.
"Leave her; I'll handle her myself."
"But she's a demon, and they have always been killed whenever they are seen trespassing," I said confidently as cold tears threatened to streak down my cheeks. I was trying to calm my nerves and hold my breath, feeling a whirlwind of emotions when I managed to lift up my gaze and I saw his face and the familiarity that it carries. It made me stop momentarily when I saw him; it was clear as day that he was someone who should never be taken for granted.
Before anyone could lay their hands on me again, he immediately grabbed my hand and dragged me to a large building; I was too weak to resist. In a few minutes he had carried me into his manly arms; I could feel his warmth. His predatory yet alluring eyes are something I can't stop admiring. I want a drink so badly because my throat feels parched. I then heard cold whispers coming from the people in the building, clearly showing disappointment in their voices: "I can't believe now the prince is associating with the demon."
I couldn't fathom what they meant by "prince" because I knew this was the man I had helped back in the forest. Why are they calling him a prince? My head was hazy, my vision blurred, until I blacked out into nothingness.
I gently opened my eyes, my gaze searching, my fingers curling, wanting to force myself up when I noticed I was in a beautiful, large chamber decorated in blue linens, and the black marble floor made the room look more exceptional in ways I can't explain.
I swallowed a lump down my throat as I observed every corner of the room because this is a place meant for royalty, not a place like me. 'Is it like you have forgotten you also came from royalty?' a voice within me echoed, which made my heart stop beating for a while. I was trying to act strong, but I can't; I feel things would never be okay if things didn't work out the way I have always wanted.
Then the young man who had carried me up took steady strides towards me; his hair was wet, his upper body was bare, and his athletic body made me admire him for a few seconds. He had a cup of water in his hand as he came to sit beside me on the bed before handing me the cup. "Take this; I believe you must be thirsty."
Without hesitation, I grabbed the cup from him and drank the entire cup as my life depended on it. I never knew the value of water until now.
He leaned close to me, my breath hitched, and my heart raced when he whispered something in my ear that made me feel a tingling sensation: "You now have to make things right, which is to return the favor of me helping you."
I lifted my gaze, looking into his brown eyes. I felt surging confidence, almost unafraid, despite knowing he's a strong dragon; his smell clearly entails it. "What is your name?"
It was like my question took him off guard, not believing why I had asked that question out of the blue. "What is your name, sweetheart?" I asked again; he looked hesitant, his eyes clearly showing something I can't seem to explain, but I am certain that he was taken aback by my question.
"My name is Luis, Miss Isabella." He said with a mischievous smile, my heartbeat increased, and my brows slightly rose, "How did you know my name?"
"Let's just say you helping me in the forest shouldn't just end there."
