Chapter 96 A Salvatore
Madison's POV.
"You know, I've been thinking of how to revenge on the Salvatores. I needed to close that gap and even up with him." Alessandro spoke, pacing around the room as he picked up things he needed.
"Right? What are your options?" I tried to stay interested when in truth...
I was waiting for him to go out so I could also leave.
Maria had texted me a location to come to, so as to meet my mother. I was so fucking happy.
I planned on telling Alessandro about it when I came back.
I was certain he'd be so happy for me, he'd ignore that I went to Maria, his enemy's wife.
"Are you good?" Alessandro's voice snapped me back to reality. He sat down at the edge of the bed, placing his hand on my leg. "I can stay back and look after you if you don't feel too good or something. Do we need to call Doctor Alfred?"
And yeah...
That was the new Alessandro.
He was so fucking caring and too sweet to me. Sometimes I teased him about him being an alien.
He was definitely not the man I met that first day we met.
I loved this version of him so much.
"I'm good. Sorry, I zoned out. I haven't been seeing Dina around and it just clicked. Sorry, I didn't hear your options, can you repeat them?" I lied, hoping he wouldn't tell.
He nodded slowly, leaning to take my hand and then placing a soft kiss on the back of my palm.
"I just need to handle something and I'll be back, okay?" He said, looking at me through his lashes. "Be a good girl."
"I will." I smiled up at him.
"And about Dina. Her child just returned from school and she asked to spend two weeks with her. She'd be back soon, okay? Don't think too much." He patted my thigh, before standing up.
"I love you!" I knew it was going to trigger him but I said it anyway.
He smirked at me, "I see what you're doing, Maddie. Take care of yourself."
"I'll manage that." I giggled, covering my mouth.
"You look cute." He winked, shutting the door behind him.
I rushed to the window after some minutes, waiting until his car left the compound. Then I changed into something simple and free, picked a cap and sunshade before stepping out.
"Madison?" I froze, slowly turning. A shaky breath left my lips when I saw it was Jero!!!!
"Hey, big bro!" I wrapped my arms around him, smiling widely.
I didn't have this time, Jero.
"I heard you've been showing off, fighting people." He smirked, not hugging me back of course. He was stiff as a wood.
I understood.
So I pulled away immediately before I got him in trouble.
"Yeahhh... I have to step out. You can come with me but you can't tell Alessandro." I didn't even wait for him to say anything as I began to approach the door.
"As long as it's not something or somewhere dangerous, fine." He entered the passengers seat while I took over the steering wheel.
I hummed, moving my body to the beat of the music as I drove down to meet my mum.
When I got out of the vehicle, nervousness evaded my system, sweat glistening my forehead.
"Maria Salvatore." I told the lady at the reception desk, just as instructed.
"Follow me." She smiled at me, leading me inside. I waved at Jero from the glass door, before joining the girl.
I stood outside, my heart slamming harshly in my chest as I caught a glimpse of the familiar brown hair.
"Please come inside." The girl said, pushing the curtain open.
My heart suddenly stopped functioning when my mother's eyes met mine. It still held its beauty - just like I had remembered.
In fact, she looked more pretty.
"My Maddie!" She stood up, her voice small.
My eyes clouded with tears, my body growing weak with content and happiness. "Mother?"
She nodded, walking up to me. When she opened her arms in front of me, I couldn't help but launched forward, into her warm embrace.
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I held her dearly in my arms.
"How could you leave me, mum?" My voice broke.
"I didn't. I promise, I didn't leave you honey comb." She rubbed her hand up and down my body.
Maria suddenly cleared her throat, snapping us apart. When I raised my eyes to meet hers, there were tears in them.
"Thank you, Maria. This means a lot to me." I didn't want to leave my mother's side. In fact, I wanted to take her home with me immediately. "You have to come with me, Mother."
She shook her head, holding my hand. "We have to talk about something, honey comb."
"Something important?" I asked her, raising my eyebrow at her. I looked to Maria who was pointing at the couch.
Of course, they didn't do things freely for people.
"Let's go sit down." I stopped my mother.
"If she's threatening you, Mother, I know someone who can help us. You don't have to succumb." I whispered lowly for only her to hear.
She chuckled, pulling me with her. "I know you've associated with a lot of great people. We're going to talk about all of it."
My eyes scanned around the file on the table. It looked like we were about to have a professional conversation or a probably a contract to be signed.
"What do you want from her, Maria?" My glare was hard.
Maria shook her head, her eyes soft. "Nothing, my dear girl."
"So why are we still here?"
Maria looked to my mother. My mother sighed, holding my hand.
"Madison. My Madison." She squeezed lightly, a lone tear slipping down her cheek.
"Why are -"
"There's something I've been hiding from you. For years." She shut her eyes, her breath shaky.
"You're scaring me, mother." My chest rose and fell rapidly.
"I... I am not your real mother, Madison." Her voice was small, her eyes heavy with sadness. She looked to Maria Salvatore,
"She is your real mother. You are a Salvatore. "
