Chapter 221

Chapter 221

"If you know it's not the right time, why don't you just leave already?"

Edward didn't rush to release Victoria, instead snapping impatiently at Sawyer.

Feeling embarrassed, Victoria hesitated to let go. They were a bit far from the wheelchair, and if she made a run for it, Sawyer would catch on quickly. Edward had already gotten up.

Sometimes it was best to keep things under wraps for a while.

Victoria mustered the courage to assist Edward.

Sawyer, with a touch of disdain but not anger, set down the large boxes he was carrying next to the sofa and took a seat.

"What did you guys buy? These boxes are massive," he inquired, pouring himself some water without feeling out of place.

Seizing the opportunity, Victoria helped Edward settle on the sofa.

Eyeing them suspiciously, Sawyer remarked, "Edward, you seem too eager. I know you're anxious, but your health is your wealth. Don't act impulsively!"

Victoria blushed at his words.

Annoyed, Edward asked, "Why are you here?"

The more he inquired, the more Sawyer brushed him off.

"You still haven't said, what did you guys buy?" he prodded, taking a sip of water and preparing to open the package. "I feel like these things are about to overwhelm you."

Though exaggerated, the boxes were indeed quite large.

Edward was certain he hadn't purchased anything. He glanced at Victoria, who shook her head, her brows furrowing even more.

Sawyer glanced at the delivery note and muttered, "Recipient, Mr. Hamilton, Sender, Mr. Jones."

"Mr. Jones? Why does the seller have the last name Jones?" He seemed to be thinking of Caleb, and Edward thought the same. Suddenly, he exclaimed, "Don't open it."

This time, Sawyer was taken aback, and the box in his hand slipped away.

Seeing the box at her feet, Victoria's mind raced, and she suddenly realized something.

"Um, Mr. Cooper, these aren't anything important. You shouldn't look at them."

But Sawyer was not one to give up easily.

The more they tried to stop him, the more determined he was to see.

"Forget it, don't try to fool me. You two are always so secretive and making a big fuss," he said, recalling how Edward had fiercely slapped Marcus at the Hamilton family anniversary party. Seeing them so nervous now, he suspected there must be something mysterious inside.

Victoria couldn't prevent him. He had already picked up another box and swiftly opened it.

Victoria immediately covered her eyes.

Edward, on the other hand, remained composed.

Sawyer couldn't believe his eyes as he stared at the numerous boxes of condoms inside the box, his mouth hanging open. "So many, when are you going to use all of these?"

"No rush. When your body is ready to announce its recovery to the world, you can use them to your heart's content," Edward replied.

Both Sawyer and Victoria blinked in disbelief, as if they couldn't trust their ears.

Sawyer swallowed hard, unable to comprehend. "Wait, Edward, I don't understand."

"Aren't these meant for you?"

"What does this have to do with me?"

Edward's expression remained unchanged. "Caleb sent them. He didn't have your address, so he asked me to pass them on to you."

"So Mr. Jones is Caleb!" Sawyer suddenly realized, but after a moment's thought, he scratched his head, feeling something was off. "But I don't have much of a relationship with him. Why would he send these to me?"

Victoria also looked at him expectantly.

Edward stayed composed. "It's nothing. He doesn't believe that Victoria cured your body. He said you couldn't recover."

"I told you your prowess is still intact."

"He was unconvinced, so he prepared these for you."

Sawyer's eyes widened even more, and to Victoria's surprise, instead of questioning, he became emotional. "Edward, I knew you valued me, but I never expected you to have such confidence in me."

"Edward, I, Sawyer, hereby promise you today."

"I, Sawyer, will never let you down."

Victoria couldn't help but laugh.

Sawyer frowned, looking displeased. "Don't you trust me?"

Victoria quickly shook her head.

She thought it was not about trust but about these several large boxes. How long will they last?

But of course, she wouldn't say that.

"No, I just thought, since Mr. Cooper, you are so ambitious, I should help you recover sooner."

"So, let's go to the treatment room now!"

Victoria was serious.

Sawyer nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, almost forgot. I came here today to have you reinforce me!"

With that, he put down the box in his hand, rushed past Edward, and headed upstairs.

"Edward, you have confidence in me, and I have confidence in you. I believe we are the strongest duo."

His words darkened Edward's face.

But Edward had no idea that what would truly upset him was yet to come.

Sawyer was as excited as if he had been injected with chicken blood. By the time they reached the treatment room, before Victoria could prepare any tools, he had already stripped off his clothes, revealing his briefs underneath.

After plopping onto the treatment bed, he winked at Victoria, "Victoria, come and treat me!"

Victoria felt a shiver down her spine.

Edward's eyes looked murderous.

"Victoria, give me your needle!" he gritted his teeth.

"No, Victoria, your husband wants to silence me," Sawyer wailed.

Seeing his address, Edward's expression softened slightly.

Victoria shook her head helplessly.

Of course, she wouldn't give the needle to Edward. With a swift and skilled move, she soon had the needle on Sawyer's back.

However, perhaps due to Edward's intimidating gaze, Sawyer couldn't help but feel nervous, causing him to tremble slightly.

Victoria had no choice but to glare at Edward. "Stop scaring him. Otherwise, my needle won't be effective."

Reluctantly, Edward averted his gaze.

With the danger averted, Sawyer started showing off again. "Edward, a husband should fear his wife getting rich. Did you hear that? Your wife told you not to glare at me!"

"You better pray I recover quickly so I can use up all these condoms before they expire!"

"If not, I'll just have to find a couple more at once."

"If you say another word, I'll make you mute right now."
