Chapter 20 – My Miracle

BLAZE was surprised to see that all the lights in his mansion were on. He had sent his servants away before he left in the morning because he wanted to be alone. The last mission he assigned to them was to send Mikaela home. He hadn’t summoned any of them yet and hadn’t accepted any reports from them because he had been busy the entire day.

It was almost midnight now. He had gone through Mikaela’s house and studio. He even went to the hospital where Sylvia was at. But she was not in those places. He was beginning to get anxious. He had no choice but to come back to his mansion to perform a location spell.

Where are you, Mikaela?

His tears began falling when he saw Mikaela in the garden. It seemed that he did not have to do any spell anymore. The search was over. Now he knew why just hearing her heartbeat made his heart feel full. He was in love with her. And maybe he had been in love with her for a while now. It was simply impossible not to love this beautiful force of nature.

Mikaela immediately stood up after seeing him. “Hi!”

“Why are you still here?” he asked in a raspy voice.

“I was worried that you’d feel lonely once you come back and you see that no one is waiting here for you anymore. So… here I am,” she replied in a reluctant voice. Her eyes were swollen again. “This is your fault, you know. If you will leave me, I’ll accept it. But at least, you should be happy about it. How can I let you go when you looked in pain even after hurting me? It gave me hope or… was I only deluding myself again?”

He blinked to fight back the tears. “How could you love me after all I did? After discovering who and what I am?”

Mikaela softly smiled. “Aren’t we the same then? I am my mother’s daughter and yet, you still fell in love with me.”

MIKAELA was cheating. Before Blaze had left her, she had already seen his aura. The black one had disappeared and was replaced with pink. It was the aura of a person in love. She saw it last night and this morning, too. If she had not seen it, she doubted if she would still have the courage to stay because what he said did hurt a lot.

Although at some point, while waiting for Blaze tonight, she began questioning her ability. She began questioning whether the color that she saw was right. She thought that maybe Blaze was right, that she just deluded herself into thinking that he was in love with her that she started seeing the color of the aura that she wanted to see.

But tonight, she was seeing that color again that it made her eyes brimmed with tears. And even without that color, she would still be able to tell his feelings. It was all over his eyes.

Blaze smiled. “You are one brave woman. That’s one of the many reasons why I fell in love with you.”

Mikaela sobbed. God… It felt so good to finally hear those words from his lips. He closed the distance between them and took her in his arms. “I have a story that I want to tell you. Will you listen to it?”

How could I not? I’ve been waiting for it. But she was too emotional to speak that she just nodded. Blaze lifted her as he sat on the wooden chair near the fountain in the garden while he put her on his lap. She was still sitting there as he began telling her his life story which included Danielle and Kate.

Mikaela’s eyes widened after a while. “Danielle was your brother’s lover and Kate was their daughter?”

Blaze’s forehead creased. “Yes. But why were you more surprised about Danielle being my brother’s lover than me being a destroyer?”

Her cheeks flushed. “Because you being a destroyer just doesn’t make sense to me. I… I can see auras, Blaze. And I saw yours on our first date. You are the first person I saw who possessed two auras. It was black and white which symbolized light and darkness. But it was not enough for me to believe the worst in you because I saw that you knew how to balance them together not to mention that during the time we were together, the black one was slowly fading. I couldn’t even see it in you now. As for Danielle, I’ve always been jealous about her. I thought she was your first love.”

“No. You were my first love, Mikaela, and my last, too. I’m sorry for what you went through this morning because of me.” He breathed sharply. “I thought letting you go was the best option because I was afraid that my mana would suddenly burst one day, and I might hurt you. I could never take that.”

“That will never happen, Blaze.”

“I know that now.” He nodded and smiled tenderly. “I love you. I truly do. And I will spend the rest of my life proving that to you. Will you take me again, Mikaela?”

“You know I will! I will take you in a heartbeat, Blaze!” she said eagerly and brightly, but her smile disappeared when she remembered her mother. “But… what about my mother?”

He kissed her forehead. “What she did was wrong. But without her, you would not have been born. You would not have existed. And I thank her for that. She would have my eternal gratitude for raising you. I don’t think some of the Vampires could trust her again, but in time, I believe everything will be all right because in time, they will see that your existence itself had saved millions of lives by being a Devil’s saving grace. And they would come to forgive Sylvia for that. They would come to believe in miracles.” Blaze’s voice broke as tears began to roll down his cheeks. “You were my miracle, Mikaela. Thank you for being born. I love you.”

Her eyes shone. “I love you, too.”

And when their lips met, she closed her eyes and kissed him with all the love she felt. Her tears fell as she realized that fairytales could happen in real life, too.

Blaze was her fairytale.

EPILOGUE:

A SMILE instantly appeared on Blaze’s lips when he opened his eyes and saw his beautiful wife. She was still sleeping like a baby. He gently reached out for her hand and kissed it.

Today was their first day as husband and wife. Today marked the beginning of their forever.

Before the wedding, Blaze was anxious since he was an immortal and human lives were short. But his worries disappeared when Mikaela made a vow in front of everyone last night to love him and stay with him until his last breath which meant that she agreed to live for as long as he lived. That’s why after the wedding, he created a spell that would bond them forever, a spell where she could live as long as a Vampire without becoming a Vampire too, and a spell which only Blaze could do.

The Council also took back Sylvia’s punishment later on. Their relationship could never be the same again, but they were trying to accept each other for Mikaela’s sake. She had also apologized to him and to his entire Clan. And he could see that she was trying her best to make it up to them.

So far, everything had been going on smoothly. Mikaela would go back to her passion after their honeymoon. She planned to have a tour around the world to take pictures. And she had his full support, but he would be there with her, too, of course. His wife was too beautiful for her own good that he had to keep his guard at all times.

After a while, Mikaela stirred in her sleep.

“Good morning, love!” she greeted him with a bright smile after opening her eyes.

Blaze was unable to respond when he suddenly saw images in his wife’s eyes. He saw a little girl with blue-green eyes and long, black curly hair running around a garden filled with red and white roses. She had Mikaela’s innocent face and sweet smile.

And then out of nowhere, he heard a voice in his head saying, “Daddy!”

It was just one word, but it was enough to shake his world.

“Blaze?”

He swallowed. The he saw was very brief. But the little girl’s face and soft voice would remain in his mind and heart for as long as he lived. A tear fell from his eye. This was his first time seeing a glimpse of the future. His mentor was right. The future had really changed so much.

When Blaze remained quiet, Mikaela sat on the bed and had a worried expression on her face. “Is something wrong?”

“I saw her, Mikaela,” he whispered, still emotional. “I saw our little one. She looks so much like you. I’m sure in the future; I’m going to be busy chasing away so many boys from approaching her.”

Her eyes shone. “Really? That’s amazing! I can’t wait to meet her!”

“Me, too,” This was the most beautiful morning in his life. And he was sure that he would have many more reasons to wake up in the following days of his life. “Thank you for coming into my life, Mikaela, and for loving a man like me. That was really brave of you, you know.” He took her in his arms and kissed her forehead.

Blaze glanced at the window. The sun had already rose.

You, from up there, thank You for giving Mikaela to me. Thank You for granting me these miracles.
