The Wolf Shadow

Lucas walked through the corridor that directly borders the park. In the middle of the hallway, Gavin stood leaning against a pillar. Seeing the look on Lucas' face, he could easily guess his current mood.

"I think what Aiden said about that woman is true. She will only cause problems for us."

"Go to your room and rest!" Lucas said as if he didn't care at all what Gavin said.

"When will you come to see mom? It's almost three years since dad left, you still haven't seen her."

"She doesn't need me to come to see het, you, Lucien and Jacob, the three of you are more than enough. Levi, Keith and Aiden will go home if I give them the order. So, you don't have to worry!"

"I'm not worried about that at all. But you, Lucas. It's time for you to pass the curse on to your offspring. You are the alpha here, the curse would be inherited if it didn't come from your blood."

"I am not interested."

"I hope you don't act rashly, I know what your purpose is in bringing that woman here. If she's the only reason you sold your soul to Lucifer, you've put our pack in danger."

"I'm not interested in living eternally like that man. In fact, he will still go to hell even if he tries hard to stay alive in that form. When my business is finished, I will go and give this pack an heir or else I will decided that one of you will replace me."

"What about Vivienne? You promised her parents that you would choose her as your mate. Their pack has a very large number. Even though they are not demons like us, it must be admitted that they are quite strong and have a lot of influence."

"If that's the case, you should just ask yourself!"

"What do you mean?"

"Are you sure that you will be ready if Vivienne and I get married?"

"What's the reason I'm not ready?"

"Gavin, you know that I am the only one you can't lie to. The six of you are tied to me, I will give her to you willingly if you want her so badly."

"Just like you voluntarily handed Lyra over to Keith?" Gavin said. Lucas was silent, he didn't answer immediately as if he doubted his feelings.

"There is nothing more valuable to me than ruling the whole world and making humans go to hell. I will throw away anyone, I no longer need without being qualified."

"Okay, let's just say so. But if I may guess, was Lyra the one who made you like this?"

"What do you mean?"

"We all die and rise again because of something we cannot forgive. You know how we all died and in whose name our revenge will be avenged. But you, none of us know the cause of your death and the target of your revenge. All this time you have hidden it from us, even from mom and dad. You also often avoid physical contact with ordinary people. But why did you allow yourself to be touched by that woman this time? Who is she really? I'm not sure your plan to rent her at a high price and bring her to this mansion just coincidence."

The more Gavin tries to find out more clearly what really happened, the more convinced he becomes that Lyra's presence among those who are not humans is a coincidence.

"You'd better stop interfering in my business, Gavin. You know I really hate that, right?" Lucas looked back, looking at Gavin with his evil eyes.

Gavin saw darkness around Lucas and a very strong atmosphere. Just by being close to him, it would be difficult for anyone's body to move. Lucas was in a bad mood, he knew that and just by looking at the darkness surrounding Lucas, he knew that Lyra was part of Lucas' past.

Lyra woke up from her sleep when she heard the sound of a wolf howling from the forest right behind the mansion. She shuddered every time she heard a wolf howl, making the trauma come back to life.

She really hated wolves, even just seeing the picture and hearing their howls made her want to scream. She raised her head and after fully regaining consciousness, she realized that she was alone in this room.

Keith was gone, he even just left without saying anything to her. But strangely, the window, which she was sure she had locked tightly, suddenly opened and brought in a strong night breeze.

The howling sound became clearer and this time it sounded so close as if it were right next to her. Her body was shaking, she was too afraid to even walk towards the open window and close it.

The wind blew so hard that it blew away light objects in the room. Lyra wrapped the blanket around her naked body and walked on shaky legs towards the large open window.

She tried to close the window, but the strong gust of wind made it difficult for her. Above the sky, the full moon glowed reddish as if it was a sign that tonight was the night for the wolves to gather and look for prey.

Grrrr...

"Oh no-" Lyra immediately hid when she saw a large wolf peeking at her from behind a tree.

Her body shivered, she covered her mouth with both hands. She was sure the large creature was a wolf. However, its size is clearly not the size of a wolf in general.

Lyra was too scared, she tried to hold back her voice. This wild, ordinary fear brought back past trauma that she had tried to forget.

"Lucas, help me! I'm so scared."

Lyra sobbed, she couldn't believe moments like this would happen again in her life. But when she tried hard to fight her fear. The wolf, which was originally far away in the forest, was now on the balcony of her room.

Grrrr...

She heard a growling sound that made her heart almost stop beating. She couldn't move her body at all. But when she realized that something had appeared right beside her, she slowly turned her head to the side to see what terrible thing was lurking right before her eyes.

A big wolf with bright red eyes growled showing its large and sharp teeth. Lyra started to lose consciousness, her vision blurred and she didn't have the strength to scream and run away.

"Lucas, help me! Please help me!"
