Chapter 29: Ohh Alec !!

"You're really sure you want to do this, I hate the idea of beating a girl up." The guy said smirking and Alec scoffed rolling her eyes.

"Are you sure you're scared of beating a girl or you're scared of having your ass whupped by a girl?" Alec questioned and a frown immediately crept into his face.

"Whatever." He snarled and circled Alec who just stood at one place waiting for him to lurch an attack.

She would be the stupid person to let her guard down and attack first.

Fortunately, the guy—her opponent— was the stupid one as he sent a flying kick to her direction and she slightly vent backward making his leg cross right through her face as he was about to throw a fling, she held his leg and twisted it making him fall with his face to the ground.

"You bitch." He spat as he tried to stand up immedtarly was too late because Alec was already at his head side and as he attempted to stand, she used her boots to press his head back to the ground.

"No one is your slave here, do you understand? So the next time you come to get something and you try to cut in line, you'd wish you never existed." She said still pressing his face down to the ground.

"Alright, no problem. Just fucking let me go." He yelled and Alec's poker face coiled up into a smile once more.

"You don't get to order me, young boy. Or should I say 'Sir' because you're quite older than me, I'm just guessing that if I use the word Sir, you're going to take it as an insult considering how you're been reduced to nothing right now." Alec spat whilst chuckling and everyone standing close to the scenario Booed at the young man.

It was quite clear that they were happy by his downfall.

"An elder is approaching." A tiny shrill voice cried out and everyone bowed their heads in reverence.

"What's going on here?" The elder questioned after glancing through the crowd like he was I'm search of someone.

"Thus man tried to cut in line and was stopped by this brave—" The old lady was explaining but as she made to point at Alec, she was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is the young girl that was standing there right now?" The old lady asked directing the question to no one in particular because no one had seen Alec slip away just in time for the elder not to see her.

"That was close." Alec muttered to herself as she pressed her back against the brick wall that she was laying on heaving a deep and long sigh.

"Wait a mints, what am I even doing? I'm supposed to be thinking of a way of rounding up the elder and not running away from him." Alec thought to herself but couldn't find the possibility that she would be able to do that high enough.

"Well, if the girl isn't here; y'all are going to find her right now. Split up, she's just a girl. She mustn't have gotten that far." Alec heard the elder say and instantly she knew that her cover had been blown.

He had seen her and he knew it was her and he was coming for her.

And the part that freaks her out the most is the part that she was doing this all on her own.

Normally, she used to rely on the other team members especially Kate.

They brainstormed together and she hadn't really fine anything alone so this was a huge task on her shoulders.

But there was no backing out like the mysterious man had said.

Not when the shadow in that elder needed her head on a pallette.

Still transfixed at a pont, Alec heard feet's thudding away and realized that they had made a whole search party start looking for her like she was wanted for a crime.

Interesting!!

Now she has to run!

The footsteps that were previously thudding away faded away but Alec's heart did a little drum roll when she heard heavy footsteps coming right at her direction.

Leaning in a bit and taking a peek, she saw some guards together with the Elder-Shadow- approaching.

Great! Bad timing.

Trying to carry her feet as light as possible, she began tiptoeing away until she wasn't concentrating any longer and was switching into full panic mode till she tripped on a stone and fell with a heavy thud.

"Who's there?" One it the guards that was with the shadows asked and Alec heaved a deep sch as tears trickled down her eyes.

"You can't just ask 'who's there' and expect whoever it is to crawl out. Dang! You still have your feet transfixed in a spot, thats interesting! Move it." The elder yelled at the guard and he began walking towards Alec's direction who has scrambled off the floor and was trying to make her escape.

"Who's there?" The guard asked get again as Alec's rattling got more audible abut before he could close up on her, she sped away.

"There she is." The guard yelled as she ran off and both the elder and other guard's rushed to him to see Alec sprinting away.

"Well what are you waiting for? Go after her now." The elder commanded, his eyes red with anger.

"Yes sir." They echoed in unison as they ran off the same path Alec took.

But this time, the elder didnt run along with them. He let them go after her.

Because the Shadow knew that even if Alec had half the brain of Kate, thats if she Ben had up to a quarter of it, she wouldn't keep running for much long.

Leisurely, walking along that same path, the elder stamped his feet really hard like there was somw unknown force he wanted to see what was going on.

"Alright, little teen. Show time is over, we're done with that hide and seek." He said as he got to a dark alley.

"All the guards in this corner if the world must be really stupid to think that a prime suspect that they were after was going to take the main route all the way through." The elder said out loud as he walked slowly into ten dark alley, his eyes gleaming like he could really see in the dark.

Well, he did see in the dark.

"Well, little girl. Where are ya friends? Did they abandon you because that would be so bad?" The elder asked in a loud voice as he kept moving Carter into the alley way.

Alec was coiled up at the back of a huge barrel of oil in the dark, propping her head between her legs as she heard him get closer.

The hairs on her body all stood due to the goosebumps that had filled them up as a cold shiver ran through her spine.

This was her last chance.

And the only other thing that was keeping her from completely loosing her mind was the cuffs that she was dangling in her hands.

Even in the deepest and darkest, it still shone like silver.
