Chapter 30: Flashbacks
~~Flashback~~
"Well, now we have a dungeon in a cave which they at is the safest and though its super cool to trust them, we can't put all our eggs in one basket. And we can't even say that we'll drag the elders down here and lock them up without them breathing a word." James was saying as he stared at everyone in the eye.
"I mean, I would be really bothered if they don't throw their fit before walking into the dungeon. But why its cool that thete might be a chance that they will be willing, we can't just assume. Does anybody understand what I'm saying it its another of my blabbers?" James questioned as he stared at each and everyone one of the like they had suddenly grown horns.
"What? Why y'all staring at me like that?" He questioned, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.
"Well, on the contrary...you're the one who is giving us that bitch eye look." Alec intercepted and James rolled his eyes.
"James is right. We can't drag the shadows to the dungeon so what's our move.?" Kate questioned staring at Sam and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Don't look at me. I don't have any ideas." Sam said and she nodded like what he had just said was totally understandable.
"If you all are done with your little me time, you might still understand that we are still here and can help you out and we think we might have an Idea." The leader of the guards started explaining and a kind of thick silence settled upon them.
"What idea?" Sam asked for the rest of the group andtehy all nodded their head in affirmation and positivity.
"I must say that I still don't understand why you want to lock the elders up in a dungeon okay? I know youve had your talk about shadows and all that and thats exactly why I'm helping out. To protect the city." The leader of the guards answered but with the look in the faces of the teenagers, even an onlooker would agree that wasn't the answer they were looking for.
"Well, what's your idea? That what we are waiting to hear." James spake up and they looked at him with that burning gaze that threatened to drill jokes out of his body.
"We have cuffs. But they are not just any kind of cuff that can be picked and unlocked, its automated." The leader began explaining and their eyes widened.
"Bring it." The leader of the guards motioned to one of the guards that stood nearest to him and almost immediately, the guard exited only to re enter with a box like thing in his hand.
Pressing the button in the top of the box, it gave a wheezing sound before unlocking revealing the contents of the box.
Multiple pair of silver shining cuffs.
"It can only be locked, unlocked, controlled in general from the technology unit underground at the back cave." The leader of the guards stated.
"Back cave?" They all asked simultaneously.
"Yeah, back cave. It also takes a series of button's to be able to get out of the lock. Once the cuff is activated, it tasers the person so the only thought that you would dwell on right now is how to carry a grown ass man down here." The leader of the guard announced and they all heaved a sigh.
"Well that is the only other thing that makes me feel better other than their tea." Alec muttered ad Kate served tobgkare at her, clicking her tongue.
"Well, you have to keep your head off their tea for a moment so we can win this war else there won't be a tea time for you or anyone, ever again." Kate growled making Alec keeping a scrunched up face before they started conversing again as they walked out.
~~End of flashbacks~~
Trailing her hands around the run if the cuff, she held her breath as the elder approached closely.
She was using up all willpower she had in her for her spirit not to jump out of her skin.
"Or did you just stray out on your own? I'm curious and I want to know because you all are like a bunch of bees always walking in groups." The elder continued as he took slow yet precise steps towards her and Alec could feel her confidence flying out the window slowly with each step he took.
What if she stopped to take a breath and by the time she reopens her eyes, he was right in front of her?
Only the high heavens would be able to tell how many times that thought had crossed her mind.
She tried to hold on t that part of her that believed GE was just assuming she was in the alleyway but when she peeked and realized that he just kept a lingering gaze on the barrel of oil that she was hidden behind, she knew that it was now or never.
"Are you going to come out or do you love been dragged?" He asked when he was just inches away from the barrel of oil.
"Tell me what you would gain from all this?" Alec questioned, trying to keep a confident voice as she crawled out from behind the barrel.
"I'm sorry, what are you asking?' The Shadow asked, raising his eye brow like he was confused as to what she was asking.
"Oh no, don't give me that. You know what I'm asking. Why are you doing this? All the chaos, the troubles.....excuse me..does tears turn you on or does it give you a sense of satisfaction? Because I genuinely want to understand." Alec asked keeping a poker face with both hands to her pocket as she fondled with the cuffs.
"Are we in for a little interrogation, little one? If that be the case, then I'd like to do so over tea time." The Shadow stated and bursted out laughing while his eyes turned pitch black.
"You know what, play time is over." The shadow growled in its original voice and Alec knew that it was time she got into some action and stop sticking around.
Standing few inches apart from each other, Alec still had her hands in her pocket as she tried to act like a prey so she would be able to cuff him.
Sending a punch to her face, she was able to duck just in time for his fist to fly in front of her face and as swift as the speed of light, she grabbed his fist in hers.
"Catching my punch!! Thats brave, tea girl. I never knew you had it in you." The shadow commended with a sly smile etched on his face.
As the Shadow and Alec began struggling over his hands because he tried to withdraw the fist, Alec held on with all her might and the shadow began getting suspicious but couldn't read any meaning into it.
Using his second fist to punch her yet again, Alec smartly pulled out the cuffs from her pocket and as his hands swinged by, she placed the lock on his hands.
"Now!" Alec growled and just then, a button clicked making the Cuff lock in the shadows hands as the color drained out of his face.
"Woah." Alec let out a sigh of relief.
