Chapter 16 Chapter 16
I was turned around to meet a hard chest. Which kind of made me lose my balance. I waited for my back to hit the floor, but that never happened. because two strong, muscular arms were wrapped around me. Holding my waist.
My hair was out of my bun, eyes closed. And the best feeling ever.
"Hey slow down there," Caspian said amused. His hands were still around me. And he bent holding me in place.
I hurriedly stood straight "You alright? " he asked worriedly.
"Yeah," I said with a shaking voice. Our closeness made me nervous.
I walked past him but could feel his eyes on me.
Here I was again standing in the middle of the forest. A huge brown wolf jumped beside me snarling with disgust. I stood there frozen in my spot but then he jumped through me and I turned around to see it jumped on a middle-aged man.
"Dad" I yelled but before he could hear it. he was ripped into pieces. I couldn't stop my tears.
I heard a scream behind me and there was another wolf approaching a woman.
"Mommy" I yelled and stood protective in front of her but it was useless cause he went right through me.
I broke down in front of my mom's body.
Not again, not again. I keep seeing them die again and again and again and all over again.
I felt someone shaking me. Soon the impact started increasing.
I opened my eyes, I was in my room, shaking, sweating.
And turned my head to see a pair of worried-looking grey eyes.
"Shush.. it was just a nightmare," he said hugging me tightly.
I held him impossibly close. He started rubbing my arms and back calming me down. Inhaling his scent was helping me calm down.
Unfortunately, he pulled away. "Feeling better? " he asked staring in my eyes.
I just nodded not trusting my voice.
"I'll be back," he said and before I could stop him, he was gone.
Sighing I lied down to watch the ceiling with so much confusion and anger.
"Here," he said and handed me a glass of milk.
I gave him a look' seriously? '.
"Warm milk will help you sleep better," he said smiling reassuringly.
I took the glass and gulped down the milk. And handed him the glass. Warm milk did help me it was soothing.
He turned around to leave. but I held his hand.
"Don't go" I said pleading. Always after having a nightmare I feel vulnerable and hurt. Alone and hopeless.
With him around, I didn't feel all of those feelings.
He smiled and knelt beside my bed holding my hand properly and kissed my knuckles.
"Never," he said and smiled. Therewwerees so much honesty and love in those eyes which started melting my rock-solid heart.
"Now sleep" he ordered still kneeling. I don't know why. but he is different. Otheggguysst pop down beside you. And my mate is kneeling beside me with just my hand in his.
I tried sleeping but it was useless. I could never sleep after a nightmare.
I turned around to see ahead laying on my bed uncomfortably. I smiled and took off the covers.
And after a little struggle, he let go of my hand.
I too knelt beside him trying to lift him up but it was useless he is like a huge hulk.
Giving up I took some pillows and placed them down on the floor and carefully pulled him so his head was on the pillow.
I pulled his legs straight so now he was laying on the floor.
Took the covers off of the bed. I pulled his right arm and lied down on him. with my head on his chest. Then instantly his arm was wrapped around me holding me in place.
I pulled the covers over us and for the first time in forever I slept after a nightmare. With a smile on my face in my mate's arms.
