Chapter 136 The warrior of the Angry Dragon
Chapter 136 The warrior of the Angry Dragon
In another part of the town, one of the Knights of the Cross slammed directly into the town wall. The surrounding soldiers were immediately alerted and rushed toward the explosion.
"Prepare yourselves!"
The soldiers gathered, bracing themselves for the entity that had struck the wall. But before they could even get close, a figure streaked out from the breach with blinding speed and attacked the soldiers instantly.
He moved with the velocity of a fighter jet, slamming into the ranks with such force that it created a massive explosion, gouging a crater nearly five meters deep into the ground.
"What is happening? He’s incredibly strong!"
As the smoke cleared, a man wearing the white robes of a knight of the Irish Empire walked out from the center of the crater. His arms were encased in heavy gauntlets, radiating a wild, overwhelming aura.
"I have no desire to waste time on the weak," he remarked. "I need to find your Emperor and put an end to this."
"Don't let him get away!"
The soldiers charged at him, but he wasn't afraid; instead, he smiled. "Fools!"
He prepared a punch, lunging forward with such blistering speed that the soldiers couldn't even block. They were caught by the devastating blow, which, like the first, created a massive explosion that all but erased the front line.
The energy he radiated grew even stronger, striking terror into the remaining soldiers.
"He's too powerful. We don't stand a chance against him."
Fear and hesitation were etched across their faces. "Captain, what do we do?"
The captain was torn. He knew his men would only be slaughtered if they engaged, but he couldn't simply let the enemy advance. "My men will die if we fight him," he whispered to himself, "but I cannot let him walk away from here."
The captain felt a chill as their enemy locked eyes with him and coiled for another strike. " Impossible. He's targeting us next, " he thought.
The world seemed to stop as he saw the enemy leap toward their position. He knew this was the end; they were powerless to stop him.
But just before the enemy’s fist could connect, an object struck him with such impact that he was sent flying back, embedding himself deep into the town wall.
Everyone watched in stunned silence, unable to comprehend what had just happened. "What just happened?"
Elisa descended from the sky, her entire body wreathed in black lightning, and landed beside the captain.
"General Azula, thank you for the rescue."
Elisa surveyed the area and saw the devastation. Knowing the enemy’s strength, she ordered the soldiers to withdraw.
"There is nothing you can do here. Go into the town and rescue the other citizens," she commanded.
The captain bowed and followed Elisa’s order, leading the hundreds of soldiers away. Once she was sure they had safely retreated, she ascended into the air, surrounded by crackling black electricity.
As she rose, her opponent lunged, attempting to land a punch. Elisa did not flinch; she parried the strike with her sword. The force of their collision triggered a deafening shockwave that sent both of them flying in opposite directions.
"Well now," the man said as he climbed out of the wall. "It’s rare to find someone who can match my punch. It seems you aren't just some common soldier like the others."
Elisa landed near the member of the Knights of the Cross, ready to face him. "I’m not a fan of thugs," she replied, "but I am interested in seeing what you're capable of."
"Good. I like fighting the strong—that’s exactly why my target is the Emperor or the Empress. I want to see if they truly live up to the rumors."
He introduced himself as Pakito, the warrior of the Angry Dragon, one of the Knights of Heaven whose mission was to purge the world of evil.
Elisa smirked, asking if he really believed they were chosen by the heavens to be saviors. "You plan to kill the citizens of the Dark City, who may very well be children of God. Do you honestly think you have the right to judge them?"
Pakito scratched his head. "Right? I don't know. But I can do it, that’s what matters."
He admitted he wasn't a religious zealot like his companions; they were simply following the Pope’s orders. He had no idea which god the Pope served, but he felt he was helping many people by obeying.
"Besides, they’ve already proven that the Dark Lord committed evil deeds, and he must die for the sake of peace."
Elisa sighed, telling him that no outsider had the right to meddle in another empire's affairs. "It’s clear you are only here to seize the Emperor’s lands and dominion over other kingdoms."
Elisa released a surge of dark energy, her body gradually cloaked in a shroud of shadow. "I am the Lead General of the Empire and the Emperor’s second wife. I will not tolerate the sacrilege you’ve committed against the palace and the Dark City on the very day of the Sun Festival."
Pakito smiled, his gauntlets igniting with a burning aura. "I knew it—you’re not just anyone. This is perfect. I’ve been looking for a fight with someone strong."
"If it’s a strong opponent you seek, you’ve come to the right place," Elisa retorted. "Though, I fear you won’t last very long in this fight."
As a gust of wind swept through, they both lunged at each other. Their attacks collided, and due to their incredible speed, the spectators saw only a series of rapid-fire explosions.
"This is intense. They’re both unbelievably strong."
"The General is the Emperor's strongest subordinate; it’s no wonder she can keep up with him."
Every clash of their attacks sent shockwaves that shattered everything in their vicinity.
"Even from this distance, I can feel the force of every blow," one soldier gasped.
"It’s terrifying. A single stray strike could kill us, but for those two, it’s as if they're just playing."
Elisa managed to strike Pakito’s arm, sending him reeling, but he regained his balance instantly and prepared to counter. She noticed that even when her blade made contact, he remained unscathed. His body’s defense is incredibly resilient, she realized.
She sensed that it wasn't just his gauntlets that possessed a dragon's presence; it was his very body. "Strange. I feel three different dragon auras within you. How is that possible?"
"Ha! Impressive. I didn't think you’d notice," Pakito boasted.
He revealed that his gauntlets and armor were crafted from Spirit Dragons. He bragged that in his country, a warrior who possessed a dragon spirit was considered special—a champion chosen by the dragons themselves.
"Fortunately, my parents passed their dragon spirits down to me, and they accepted me as their master," he added.
"Then you are truly lucky to inherit such power," Elisa said, smiling. "Three dragons in one body? How very interesting."
"Ha! I appreciate the praise. Fine, I'll show you just how magnificent this is." He slammed his gauntlets together, unleashing a torrent of power.
He explained that one dragon provided blinding speed, the second provided an impenetrable shield, and the third empowered his punches. "The perfect weapon for a perfect warrior like me."
With his aura blazing, he surged toward Elisa.
Elisa remained calm, continuing to channel her dark energy to reinforce her body. She matched his assault again; even with his lightning-fast movements, Pakito was able to follow her attacks and parry them.
" I’m using my dark energy to boost my speed and power, yet he can still keep up, " she thought.
Elisa fired a sphere of black energy, but Pakito simply punched it to neutralize it. The black lightning scattered, crushing everything in its path upon detonation.
Contrary to her expectations, her dark lightning couldn't pierce Pakito’s defense. She realized there was something abnormal about his magic barrier—it didn't react at all to the impact." There is something strange about his armor. "
She gathered her dark energy once more, shaping it into a spear.
"Thunder Spear!"
Elisa hurled the spear with all her might. Pakito brazenly blocked it with his bare hands, the force driving him back and digging his feet deep into the earth as he struggled to hold it back.
"Yaaaah!!!"
She noticed that Pakito's body seemed to be absorbing the black electricity, rendering it harmless. " A magic barrier that absorbs and consumes energy, " she realized.
The spear began to shrink as Pakito’s armor drained its power.
" My suspicion was correct—he is absorbing my energy."
Not only could he move fast enough to mirror her, but her attacks were being neutralized because his armor simply drank the energy she released.
" This is a massive problem, she thought. I need to find a way to defeat him."
