Chapter 135 The warrior of the cloud, Sota
Chapter 135 The warrior of the cloud, Sota
In another part of the town, where one of the Knights of the Cross had fallen, a man stood with short, black hair, dressed in the elegant white attire of the Irish Empire’s knights.
As he stood up, he immediately leaped onto the roof of a nearby building, scanning his surroundings as if searching for something.
"The Dark Lord's power is overwhelming."
His body gradually became shrouded in mist as he soared into the air to gain a better vantage point of the area.
However, while in the sky, an attack suddenly struck him with such force that it nearly sent him plummeting. He tumbled through the air until he slammed into a wall.
A few moments later, Lea descended from the sky. Her dark energy was overflowing, and black, tentacle-like appendages slowly emerged from behind her back.
"You have a lot of nerve invading my city!" Lea declared, her voice filled with rage.
White mist began to coat the area, and the man’s form reappeared before Lea.
"Oh? I didn't expect to face the Empress of the Dark Empire herself."
As white smoke enveloped his arm, he arrogantly introduced himself. "I am Sota, the Warrior of the Clouds. It is my duty to cleanse this world and eradicate evil."
Before Sota could even finish his sentence, Lea’s black tentacles lunged forward, piercing his chest.
"You talk too much," Lea snapped coldly. "I’m not in the mood to chat with my enemies."
Sota simply smiled, appearing unfazed by the injury. A moment later, his body began to dissolve, vanishing into the surrounding mist.
"Hahaha! You’re too brutal, attacking me while my guard is down. It’s true what they say—you have neither mercy nor respect for others."
The white mist converged again, reforming his body atop a nearby pole. He smiled, his face filled with arrogance.
He boasted that physical attacks were useless against him because his body had become one with the mist surrounding them.
"This is perfect. The heavens granted me this power for the sole purpose of ending people like you."
Slowly, a massive monster made of mist began to form in front of Lea. It stood four to five meters tall, possessing a muscular physique. Sota merged into the creature's core to control it.
"Cloud Destroyer," Sota announced, as the monster lunged toward Lea.
Although its body was made of mist, it destroyed every house and object it struck with its punches.
Lea evaded quickly, thanks to her ability to fly. " Damn it! "
She knew that if they continued to fight within the city, it would result in massive collateral damage.
"Damn you! Don't you dare destroy my beautiful city!"
Lea unleashed her aura, and simultaneously, the ten tentacles behind her launched a counterattack.
The tentacles managed to ensnare the Destroyer, passing through its body to restrain its movements. However, even with various parts of its body pierced, Sota only laughed at his weapon's predicament, seemingly unconcerned by Lea’s assault.
"Hahaha, you’re skilled to be able to catch the Destroyer, but as I said, physical attacks mean nothing to me."
"What?"
The Destroyer’s misty body dissolved, moving like the wind, and reappeared behind Lea.
Its hands materialized instantly, grabbing her. "Hahaha, I’ve got you."
Lea didn't give in. She immediately cast a magic spell. A magic circle appeared on the ground beneath them, and water surged upward, lifting the giant body of the Destroyer.
Due to the intense water pressure, the Destroyer was forced to release Lea, and both were carried into the air.
Moments later, a Water Spirit—nearly 50 meters tall—took shape. It was a skill she had learned from Daniel, and she had successfully managed to utilize it in combat.
"Let’s see how you handle an elemental spirit," Lea said.
The Water Spirit swung its spear toward the Destroyer, successfully shattering it with the sheer pressure of the water.
Lea had great confidence in the power of the Water Spirit, knowing that water could both crush anything in its path and provide a formidable defense.
However, as the Destroyer was destroyed, the mist spread out once again, enveloping the Water Spirit as if trapping it inside a cloud.
"Hahaha, there is something you should know. A cloud cannot be destroyed by water."
The Water Spirit swung its spear, pushing the mist away, but it merely swirled back around it as if nothing had happened.
"That’s not all I can do. At the right temperature, I can turn water into ice."
Lea was shocked to see parts of the Water Spirit’s body turning into ice while wrapped in the cloud.
"Impossible."
Knowing that the ice could immobilize the Water Spirit, she immediately ordered it to move away from the cloud.
"Get away from the cloud!"
The Water Spirit leaped back, but the cloud followed, wrapping its body in thick white smoke.
"Even the Water Spirit is useless against him." Lea realized that unless she could find Sota’s original body, she couldn't defeat him.
The Water Spirit tried to dispel the surrounding mist, but with every attempt, buildings were caught in the crossfire and leveled.
"This isn't good. We're too close to the buildings. If I unleash a powerful attack, I’ll be the one destroying my own city." She muttered.
She bit her lip, thinking deeply. "How can I defeat him if I can't hit him with physical attacks?"
A moment later, she noticed the cloud growing larger, obscuring the entire area.
"The cloud is spreading even further. This is bad."
Lea released a burst of dark energy, trying to push away the encroaching mist so she could see clearly.
"Damn it! I can't see him if the cloud is this thick."
The mist merely drifted back around her, thickening until Sota’s body materialized behind Lea and struck her.
Sota managed to kick her in the back. In retaliation, Lea wrapped her black tentacles around Sota’s body, but as she held him, his form faded once again like vapor.
He slipped out of her grasp and reappeared above her, ready to attack again.
"Taste this. Cloud Smash!"
Sota’s hands grew massive, striking Lea on the head and forcing her down. She remained standing, however, and immediately commanded her black tentacles to catch him.
"You are infuriating!"
Lea successfully pierced Sota’s form with her weapons, but he simply dissolved into air again.
"Hahaha, I told you, physical attacks have no effect on me."
Sota continued to circle around Lea as if merely playing a game. He mentioned that as long as she remained within his territory, he was immortal, and nothing could stop his attacks.
Lea was struck by another kick, lifting her off the ground. Refusing to let the enemy attack her unchallenged, she cast another magic circle.
"You're testing my patience."
A Fire Geyser erupted from the magic circle, melting the clouds. The upward force pulled the clouds from below, dragging them upward until they vanished. Thanks to this, Lea could see her surroundings clearly once again.
Although most of the mist had dissipated, Sota managed to step away before the flames consumed him. He reformed his body on top of a building, looking at Lea with genuine amazement.
"Impressive. A dark magic user with the ability to cast high-level fire magic."
Sota released energy from his body, and white clouds began to pour from his back once more.
"However, clouds cannot be burned by fire. They will always return, no matter what you do," he boasted.
Lea grew even more annoyed seeing Sota attempt to fill the area with mist again. "Damn it, the clouds just keep coming back."
She noticed that Sota was capable of generating mist at will, and she knew she couldn't abuse the Fire Geyser, especially while she was in the heart of the Dark City.
Her weapons were useless, and now, her water and fire elements also failed to defeat him. "This is beyond what I expected."
"Well then, shall we continue playing inside the Cloud of Death?"
Sota attacked again within the mist, moving like the wind and appearing from various directions to strike.
Lea released a surge of powerful dark energy, and the ten tentacles behind her moved to intercept Sota, who was dodging and successfully attacking from within the dense fog.
"What's wrong? Is this all you have? It seems the report was wrong—that the Empress is the second strongest in the Dark Empire?"
A massive fist formed from the clouds and slammed into Lea. The impact was so great that her tentacles were unable to parry it.
Lea was sent flying, crashing into a wall.
She realized that beyond his perfect defense, Sota could also use the clouds as a weapon.
As Lea struggled to stand, she was suddenly engulfed by the mist, and before long, a giant hand formed, gripping her body.
"So annoying! He caught me again."
As she floated in the air, Sota’s body emerged from the mist and approached her. He kept smiling, mocking her with his arrogance.
"You’re such a weak queen. Or perhaps... I’m just too strong for you."
