Chapter 32 CHAPTER 32
Chapter 32 CHAPTER 32
Sabrina
As soon as we got to the gate, the guards stopped us. There were fewer even today, so many guesses were actually right. I hope this doesn't end up like the night I tried to escape with Harry
“Where are you going?” The guard asked us. He was heavily built, over 6’5 feet tall. And he has muscles packed everywhere like a hulk.
Penny tried to step forward but I stopped her. I already have something to say which might sound convincing.
I stepped forward and looked up. At least I have watched how the maid behaves back in the Pack House of Kayden.
“Lady Dora sent us out to the house of her seamstress to get her dress redone because it wasn't what she wanted,” I said, making my voice audible and I think it would be hard for him to recognise me in the dark.
“By this time?” He asked, looking at his watch.
“Yes. We were instructed to go now and come back before daybreak because she needs to wear the dress to an event tomorrow.” I lied, making sure it was the perfect excuse to use.
He didn't look convinced as his eyes scrutinised us.
“Can you try to make a call and check if this is true?” I heard him say to the guard beside him.
The second guard looked at me and drew the Hall guard closer.
“I think you should let them go. You know how Lady Dora is. Let her servant leave now.” The guard whispered but I heard him clearly because of my ability. I heaved a sigh of relief, knowing they won't bother checking our bag again.
“Okay, you can pass.” The hulk guard said and we stepped forward but suddenly, he stopped us and I swallowed.
“What is inside your bag? Open it.” Penny handshakes but I hold it before they realise we are acting suspiciously. We can't open the bag because the clothes and shoes we will be changing into are inside the bag.
“It's Lady Dora's dress and some of her innerwear. If you want me to open it, then I will,” I said and brought forth the bag.
If they know it's what the lady is wearing, they won't check it because it is considered rude and the guard will be punished.
The guards cleared their throats and moved out of my way. “Let them go," he instructed the other guard and we actually left.
The moment I got outside, I held on to Penny's hand. We continued walking and didn't come across any werewolves. In fact, the road seems like a desert but I can't keep working this way.
If Vincent realises I am missing, he will be coming after me and I will be caught in no time.
“Penny. We did it. We escaped” I said, turning to face hee with a wide smile on my lips. I wasn't expecting it to be that easy.
“I know, princess. It's all thanks to you.” She praised me and I rubbed my forehead with hers.
“We will need to use the wood route if we want to avoid getting caught. Then we will find the nearest place to find shelter. Once it's 6 am, we are taking the car” I told Penny
“But miss, we don't have any money,” Penny said and realisation dawned on me but I needed to calm Penny.
“Trust me, I will make this work out,” I said but the truth is, I sounded like a fool.
Am I not supposed to actually accept that money?
“We will find a way,” I said and Penny smiled. We walked towards the woods and continued walking.
I don't know how long we did but when I looked beside me, Penny was already on the verge of collapsing. I brought out the water and told her to drink.
“Princess, I think you should leave me behind and continue walking.” She said in a weak voice and I drew my brows together. It felt as if she was having a high fever which is common to humans.
“I can't allow you to get caught,” I said, shaking my head.
“I will tell them I threatened you to come with me.” She suggested but that is not something I would do. I will never accuse her of such when all she did was help me.
“And you think they will believe that?” I asked her
“No one will believe that an old woman actually tried to kidnap me out of the Pack house. We have to continue walking and judging by the place we are, we will soon get to the road.” I assured her because I need to take her to a safe place first before she can get proper treatment.
“Okay,” Penny said and continued walking. I watched her closely from behind, afraid that she might fall. She is indeed strong even though she is Human.
The birds chirped in the tree while we continued walking. I pray we don't come across any wild animal like Vincent Wolf.
“Princess," she called my name and I looked at her.
“Yes," I replied, walking closely behind her.
“What do you think would have happened if Alpha Jared actually married you?” Penny asked. This is actually not something she is supposed to ask but I need to answer anyway.
“You mean that old man?” I asked her, indirectly referring to Alpha Jared.
“Yes”.
“I wouldn't marry him. I already planned my escape.” I told Penny.
“But we both know it is actually not easy to escape like that. Are you sure you would have been able to? If you remember, he actually left Shadow Fang without bothering to agree to your Father's demand.” Penny is indeed right. She remembered every fucking day.
“He must have realised our marriage is not going to work,” I told Penny.
“Well, you are mistaken, Princess,” Penny said and my jaw dropped.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“It was Alpha Vincent that stopped him. I could remember that night vividly” Penny revealed and I halted in my footsteps.
“What are you talking about Penny?”
