Chapter 245
Fifteen minutes later, the car stopped at Island Mansion.
After Lila got out, she watched Alexander walk over to her side and stepped closer to him, "Honey, how about we hug here before going home? That way we won't have to think about it tonight."
Alexander looked down at her and rejected the idea without hesitation, "No."
"Why not?"
"I don't like treating building a relationship with Mrs. Sinclair as completing a task. If we're going to hug, it should be in a comfortable environment, when we're both in a good mood, and we should hug properly. That way, the experience will be the best."
Lila smiled helplessly.
He curved his lips slightly and reminded her, "Let's go home, Mrs. Sinclair."
With that, Alexander took the first step and walked inside.
Lila rolled her eyes dramatically at his back.
After the two entered the living room, a housekeeper heard the noise and quickly came over, looking at them, "Mr. Sinclair, Mrs. Sinclair, my name is Brown. Charlie arranged for me to come take care of you both."
Alexander nodded slightly without saying anything.
Lila poked her head out from behind him and smiled at the housekeeper, "Hello, Mrs. Brown. Thank you for your hard work."
"You're too kind, Mrs. Sinclair. Dinner is almost ready. You can eat after washing your hands."
"Okay."
"I'll leave you now." After responding, Mrs. Brown stepped away.
Lila washed her hands first and sat down in the dining room. Looking at the tempting dishes on the table, her eyes showed some amazement. Just then, Alexander walked in.
She naturally looked at him, "Honey, Mrs. Brown's cooking looks really delicious."
Alexander saw her surprised and expectant expression. What he was about to say—"You haven't seen much of the world"—came out as, "If it's good, eat more."
Lila nodded, "Okay."
After responding, she picked up her utensils and started eating. After trying a dish, she couldn't help nodding repeatedly, "This is really good, much better than my cooking."
As the words left her mouth, Lila couldn't help glancing at Alexander, "When you ate my cooking before, did you think it wasn't good?"
"So what if I did?"
"Aren't you good at making things difficult for people? If you thought it wasn't good, why didn't you use your picky skills and make me redo it?"
Alexander's eyes swept over her coldly, "Lila, are you looking for trouble?"
"Not at all."
"What do you mean I'm good at making things difficult for people?"
Lila regretted saying the wrong thing.
How did she accidentally say what was on her mind?
Probably because today's Alexander seemed too gentle, giving her the illusion that they were a normal couple who could speak freely.
Actually, what she said just now was meant to be a bit of a joke.
But to Alexander, who took things seriously, it sounded different.
Lila rolled her eyes and smiled at Alexander with an innocent expression, "Honey, don't be mad. I just wanted to chat with you and randomly picked a topic. I wasn't trying to hint at anything, and definitely not trying to trouble you."
"You better not be!"
"I'm not!"
Alexander glared at her.
Her playful yet serious expression caught his eye, and almost instantly, Alexander completely lost his temper. In the end, he just said, "Just eat."
Lila smiled and nodded, "Okay, hubby."
After responding, she began eating dinner, enjoying Mrs. Brown's cooking in a pretty good mood, feeling an inexplicable sense of relaxation.
Alexander watched the woman in front of him, who seemed to be in good spirits, and somehow his own mood improved too.
He suddenly spoke up, "Didn't you say you wanted to chat with me? Continue."
