Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Alexander snorted, "Forget it, let's just eat here."

"Okay." She obediently agreed, thinking to herself that Alexander was really quite contradictory.

Lila had just put a piece of tofu in her mouth, savoring her excellently cooked dish, when she heard Alexander speak, "Did you bring fruit?"

"Yes, I did!" she answered.

She knew he was difficult, so she had specifically brought apples and bananas this morning, and had even washed the apples at home.

Good thing she was smart.

Lila got up and brought out the apples and bananas, placing them beside the dining table, "They're washed and ready to eat."

Alexander gave the apple a look, his face full of disgust. His scrutinizing gaze fell on Lila again, his questioning voice filled with displeasure, "You just put them there like this and expect me to eat them?"

She looked completely confused, "What's wrong? They've already been washed."

Surely he didn't expect her to feed him, right?

While she was still wondering, she heard Alexander issue his command like a god from his lofty position, "Peel it and cut it into pieces."

Lila, "..."

Peel it?

Cut it into pieces?

Why was he so difficult?

Was he a three-year-old who couldn't function independently?

No, kids can walk independently at a year and a half!

He was at most six months old!

Lila was truly impressed, but fortunately, there was a fruit knife in the CEO office's dining area. She picked up the apple again, ready to peel it! And cut it into pieces!

However, just as she stood up, she heard Alexander say, "Finish your meal first, then deal with the fruit."

"Okay."

Lila silently counseled herself.

Don't get angry, getting angry is for foolish people.

She also comforted herself—who told Alexander to be sick?

Since he's sick, she had to be patient with him.

Lila ate her meal in silence, even her breathing was light, afraid that if she breathed too loudly even once, she'd anger the patient and get herself in trouble.

But even though she was already being so careful, Alexander still wasn't satisfied.

He said casually, "Usually you talk so much, why are you suddenly mute?"

Lila did talk a lot, but facing him, how dare she?

Lila really wanted to curse!

But she held it in, looking at him with a smile, "I was afraid you wouldn't like a noisy environment, so I didn't talk. If you want to hear me talk, I can talk."

"If you have something to say, say it. Don't bottle it up and get sick, then have Grandma blame me."

Lila was secretly very angry!

She glanced at him and said casually, "Ms. Hill likes you, why don't you be a bit warmer to her?"

Alexander scoffed lightly, looking at her coldly, "I'm warm to her, and then what?"

"Then she'll be happy. Being nice to people who like you is a kind gesture."

"You think so?"

Lila nodded, "Yes."

Alexander asked back with contempt all over his face, "I'm warm to her, she's happy, then she likes me even more—you think that's doing a good deed?"

She suddenly froze.

He had a point. If Alexander was nice to her, Ms. Hill might misunderstand, thinking he liked her too. Then she might fall even deeper, and when she eventually found out Alexander didn't like her, how devastated would she be?

She hadn't expected Alexander to be so forward-thinking.

Lila suddenly admired him a bit and couldn't help asking, "So you're deliberately cold to her?"

"Deliberately?"

Alexander raised his tone, "Do you think I have nothing better to do? Or do you think I'm warm to you?"

Lila didn't know what to say.

He wasn't free, his time was precious, he was busy.

Of course, he wasn't warm to her either—quite cold actually, and pretty nasty.

Lila got it now. Alexander was just a cold person with a vicious tongue.
