Chapter 34 LUCAS WANTS DIVORCE
Chapter 34 LUCAS WANTS DIVORCE
ZARA'S POV:
Did he really have the nerve to ask me that?
I wanted to grab the flower vase sitting on the console table and smash it straight into his arrogant face! The nerve!
Gosh, the thought alone almost made my fingers twitch. Instead, I slowly crossed my arms and stared at him like he had just said the dumbest thing in the world.
“Miss you?” I repeated. Then, I stepped closer to him, my heels clicking against the floor. “Lucas Blackwood, do you really want an honest answer?” I asked.
His eyes darkened slightly, but he didn’t move. “Go ahead.”
I pointed toward the living room where Ken’s toys were scattered on the carpet. “Every night, our son asks where you are,” I said, my voice rising. “Every. Single. Night.”
Lucas clenched his jaw but stayed silent. Well, he should shut his fucking mouth!
“He waits for you to come home,” I continued. “Sometimes he even falls asleep on the couch because he thinks you’ll walk through that door and carry him to bed.”
I saw his fingers curl slightly at his sides but I wasn’t done.
“And you want to know if I miss you?” I scoffed before my voice turned colder. “No, Lucas. I don’t miss you.”
His expression hardened.
“I miss the father my son deserves but of course, you always choose that woman over your own child,” I reminded him.
Lucas frowned. “That’s not-”
“Oh, shut up!” I snapped.
Lucas looked at me for a long moment, his jaw tight. Then he suddenly ran a hand through his hair like he was losing patience.
“I guess you are not that happy to see me now. Is it because of Nick? Is he better in bed than me?” he asked while implying that I was sleeping around.
What a bastard!
“Yes,” I replied without thinking twice. If lying to him would let me hurt his feelings for once, then I would gladly do it.
He gritted his teeth. “What did you say?”
“I said, Nick is ten times better than you in bed. He made me cum more than five times in two hours,” I lied again.
“Zara, you didn’t-”
“I did and guess what? We did it upstairs,” I continued until his nostrils were flaring.
“Then, there’s no point in being together in this house. Let’s set each other free,” he said.
Damn it!
I didn’t expect that but then it was already too late to tell him that I was just lying. But then, so be it. “Say it again?” I asked in case I just misheard his statement.
“Set me free, Zara.”
“Seriously, Lucas? Are you mad because of Nick? I didn’t question your sex life especially with Giselle, so why are you making this a big deal? Besides, there’s only a few weeks left before finalizing the divorce.”
“Do you expect me to come home to a woman who brought her lover into our house?” he asked.
I scoffed. “What’s wrong with it? Throughout the years, I let you come home even though you were always with Giselle.”
“Damn you!”
“Likewise,” I replied. “Fine. If you want to finalize the divorce today, then do it. I don’t care,” I said.
“Is that it?”
I frowned. “What do you mean? You’re the one who wanted the divorce, Lucas, and if my intuition is right, you wanted that a long time ago to marry Giselle.”
Lucas’s eyes flashed. “That was before!”
“Before what?” I asked.
But suddenly, footsteps echoed from the hallway.
