You were born just for Draven
I was six months pregnant and happier than ever. Draven had been incredibly caring, even while he was abroad. He made sure to call me every day, no matter how busy he was.
As I gently rubbed my belly, I felt a wave of longing for my parents and my sister, Lyra. How was she doing? I had not seen her since that incident. I kept asking Draven about her, but he always gave the same answer, Lyra was doing fine with Darren.
But I just could not believe it. Darren always acted polite around me, but something about him made me uneasy. The way he smiled felt off, like he was hiding something. I could never tell if he had good intentions or not.
Right now, I wished I could hug Lyra. I did not know if it was the pregnancy hormones or if I truly missed her this much, but the ache in my chest was real.
Just then, the door opened. Draven had come home. He looked tired, and I did not want to add to whatever was already on his mind. He walked over and pulled me into his arms.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked, looking at me with so much love in his eyes.
It was that look that made me fall for him in the first place. I ran my fingers over the soft stubble on his chin. There was joy in his eyes as he stared at me, and I knew, without a doubt, that he loved me. He would never hurt me.
“Did you know there are two babies in your belly?” Draven said suddenly.
I blinked. “Why are you only telling me now?”
He chuckled. “I wanted it to be a surprise.”
“No wonder my belly is huge,” I said, laughing. “Now I’m even more curious. Are they boys? Girls? Do they look like you or me?”
“I hope they take after you,” he said sweetly.
Draven was still smiling, but then he noticed my face shift. I had drifted into thought again. He leaned closer, concerned.
“What is it, love? Do not make me guess what you are thinking,” he said, gently brushing my cheek.
“Draven, I…” I looked into his eyes, tears forming in mine, though I tried my best to hold them back.
“What do you want, love? Just say it. I will do everything I can to make it happen,” Draven said, his voice warm.
“Do you promise?” Liora’s voice cracked as tears began to fall. “Do you promise you’ll grant it?”
Draven let out a quiet breath, his arms still wrapped around her. “I promise… as long as what you want is not to leave me or the babies.”
Liora bit her lip and looked at him with pleading eyes. “Draven, I miss Lyra. I want to hug my sister again. I just want to see her... even once.” Her sobs grew louder, and Draven could not bear to deny her.
Liora leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on his lips. Then she stepped back and looked into his eyes. “Please forgive Lyra. Do not let her keep suffering. She regrets everything. I believe she can change.”
“If seeing her will make you happy, then I will take you to her,” Draven replied, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face.
“Lyra is a part of me. I cannot just pretend she does not exist. I want her to meet our parents, Draven. I want her to feel the love they never got the chance to give.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice filled with emotion. “We are having twins, and do you really want to separate them like my parents were forced to separate Lyra and me? They gave her away to my uncle. I never want that for our children.”
“We will raise them together,” Draven promised, kissing her forehead softly. “Both of them. Always.”
Just then, he felt a gentle kick against his hand. Draven smiled wide. “They are moving, love.”
“They are excited,” Liora grinned through her tears. “Because their daddy just promised they will meet their auntie.”
Draven laughed softly. “I will call Darren. I will tell him we want to see Lyra.”
“Thank you, love,” Liora whispered, her smile finally returning.
“Love, hmm…”
“What is it?” she asked, curious.
“You get more beautiful every day,” Draven said, eyes fixed on her face.
Liora giggled. “What do you want now?”
“I want to throw a party and introduce you as my wife,” Draven said with excitement.
Liora shook her head slightly. “Honestly, I still want Lyra to be known as your wife. I do not want people thinking badly of her or calling her names. Lyra and Liora are just names. What matters is you know that I am truly yours.”
Draven tilted his head. “So what do you want?”
“I want people to know me only as Mrs. Damian. Not as Lyra. Not as Liora,” she replied with a soft smile.
That made Draven grin. “Alright then, Mrs. Draven Damian. If that makes you happy, I will make it happen.”
He pulled her close. “Now I just want to hold you until morning.”
“Just hold me?” Liora teased.
“You already know, love, what comes with that.”
“You are not even embarrassed that your babies can hear us. They would say their daddy is so cheeky and shameless,” Liora laughed, shaking her head.
“They would not exist without my boldness, remember? One day they will be proud they have a strong and confident father like me. And let us not forget, a very handsome one,” Draven joked, making her roll her eyes.
“You have been like this for days,” Liora said, trying to act annoyed.
“Like what, love?” Draven teased again, eyes playful.
“Draven!” Liora shouted, clearly trying to keep a straight face.
“What?” he asked, though his hands continued wandering over her body.
“Show some shame in front of your kids,” she muttered, trying to push him off gently.
“That is no excuse. I am sure they are happy their dad is in love right now,” Draven said before silencing her with a kiss. “I will never get tired of you. You are mine, forever.”
“Thank you for loving me,” Liora said softly.
“You were born just for Draven Damian,” he replied, voice full of pride.
That night felt magical. For Draven and Liora, love never ran out. They kept finding new reasons to cherish each other, to respect each other, and to stay close, heart to heart.
