Chapter 27 Is He My Son?
"Even though it's not a bad idea, well, I don't think I can just get married right away, right? Kelsey doesn't know Gerald's parents even though they were neighbors," Angel said.
Kelsey smiled, if only it was that easy to marry Gerald, she would have done it long ago. The problem was now getting more complicated. There was no way she'd just decided to marry Gerald.
"Oh, my God, Kels. I forgot to tell you. Earlier that Malachy called you to his room," Selena said later.
Kelsey immediately swallowed her saliva nervously, "What do you want?"
An uneasy feeling began to descend on his heart. There was no way her ex-husband would ask her to come to his room just to make small talk.
Angel chimed in, "Just go there first, Kels. There's no way he'd do anything wrong, right? It's in the office."
Selena rolled her eyes at Angel, intending to remind Angel about what happened at the hospital. Weylin abused Kelsey in the hospital.
Didn't he remember that?
Kelsey herself didn't want to delay any longer so she stepped into the Weylin room that was formerly occupied by Rowen Grace.
When Kelsey reached the sixth floor, Kelsey felt uncomfortable when all the employees on that floor looked at her with different expressions.
Some of them stared with curiosity, some with disapproval. The dislike was definitely due to jealousy, Kelsey guessed.
She also thought that there were already many women who were very interested in Weylin considering that in her city in the past, countless women had been broken by Weylin just like that, including her heart.
If only she had not been crazy about 'M' who turned out to be Weylin, she would never have entered Sweet Heaven and ended up waking up in the same bed as Weylin.
However, she immediately wanted to slap herself after realizing the complexity behind her life. She had been given an extraordinary gift. There was a little angel who always made her strong through the days, Aiden.
So Kelsey boldly knocked on Weylin's door and entered after the CEO's brief, "Come in."
Kelsey opened the door and slowly entered Weylin's room. She then walked leisurely towards Weylin who was staring at his laptop.
"Sit down!" Weylin ordered.
Kelsey sighed but then complied and sat down.
"How are you?" Weylin asked, still typing something with his laptop.
Kelsey looked up, "You called me just to ask that sir?"
Weylin immediately looked away from his laptop and looked at Kelsey, "Then should I ask you directly? Why did you act like you didn't know me yesterday? And why did you disappear without a word? What was your reason for canceling our wedding?"
Kelsey frowned, "You are asking too many questions."
"Just answer, Kels."
Kelsey gave Weylin an annoyed look, "I'll only answer the first question. I really don't know you very well so it's only natural that I don't act like I know you.”
Weylin closed his eyes disapprovingly, “Don't misunderstand me! I'm so glad you called off our wedding. But give me a reason, I deserve to know Kels. Besides, my parents also need an explanation."
Kelsey sighed again, "It's been five years and more."
"Five years and eight months to be exact, Kels," Weylin continued.
"Yeah. Why are you asking about something long ago?" Kelsey replied.
"Because I need an explanation. At least give me a plausible reason," Weylin said as his eyes met Kelsey.
Kelsey averted her eyes, not wanting to stare at the man for too long.
"Because I don't like you. I hate you," Kelsey said calmly.
Weylin was stunned but he was still trying hard to control himself.
He asked Kelsey again, "Isn't it because you already have a boyfriend out there?"
Kelsey smiled crookedly, "What does it matter to you whether I have a boyfriend or not? You don't want that marriage either so why care?"
Weylin laughed, "Who cares? I just want your honesty."
Kelsey said, "You're asking too much Mr. Malachy."
"Kelsey Leiven, I'm serious. I just want to know the truth, what's wrong with you being honest?"
Kelsey sighed in annoyance, "What exactly are you trying to say?"
Weylin considered, "That child. Aiden. He's your child, you ... you were already pregnant before our wedding at that time right? You were carrying that child so you annulled our wedding. You went with the child's father right?"
Weylin was not surprised to be slapped again. The only woman who dared to slap him was Kelsey Lieven and for some reason she felt she was used to Kelsey's slaps. There was no anger in her heart.
"Be careful what you say. Mr. Malachy!" Kelsey said angrily.
"Then explain it, Miss Lieven!" Weylin replied.
Kelsey was getting lazy to face Weylin.
So, she quickly stood up from her chair and said, "Mr. Malachy, what you should know is that at that time I I don't want to marry someone who abused me. And as for whether I'm pregnant or not, then running away with the father of the child I'm carrying, that's none of your business."
Weylin stood up too, "You can't do this, Kels. I have a right to know."
"I can. Excuse me, looks like there's nothing else to talk about so I'll excuse myself, good afternoon," Kelsey said.
Weylin could only clenched his fists. He then ordered through his phone, "Sandra, bring me the file on Kelsey Lieven as soon as possible."
The secretary was immediately responsive and In less than ten minutes, the woman had entered Weylin's room and handed over the files her new boss had asked for.
She didn't even ask a question because Rowen Grace had told her to keep her cool. Rowen had also told her how cold her new boss was. untouched. She complied because she didn't want to get in trouble.
Weylin immediately scanned through the file belonging to his ex-fiancee and in shock read, "Single? She's not married yet?"
"So that kid? The status of that child?" Weylin muttered, started to get dizzy.
There was a question that now filled his mind in an instant.
"It can't be my child right?" Weylin said with a stupid smile.
Weylin was stunned for a while. Still looking at the file.
"How old is that child? " he said still with his stupid expression.
"No. Impossible. How could it be? God, Weylin. Do not be crazy. You only do it once. How can you be a child? Seriously. Besides, did it really take time to get out?"
He then laughed out loud. He thought he was going crazy now. Weylin increasingly felt that his brain didn't seem to cooperate so he just grabbed his cell phone which he placed on the table.
"Darren, look for it. I want to know about Aiden, Kelsey's son!" Weylin ordered.
From the other side, he could hear Darren's breath hitched, "Sir, you ...."
"Don't ask anything yet. Just find out, Darren!" Weylin ordered.
After making that call, Weylin then threw himself down on his work chair. He tapped his finger on his desk.
"Damn you Kelsey. Why are you confusing me now?" Weylin resumed his monologue.
