Chapter 46
~Annabelle Keys ~
Before I could finish my statement, Morgan's voice sliced through the air like a blade. "What are you plotting? Why did you split the soul and be born as twins?" His grip tightened around my wrist, sending a jolt of discomfort coursing through me. "How come you survived instead of your sister, who remembers everything?" His questions hung in my heart, accusing and laden with suspicion.
"I don't know!" I protested, my voice tinged with desperation. "I don't know what you're talking about!" But Morgan's hold remained unyielding, his eyes ablaze with a fiery intensity.
"Why are you acting innocent? What are you trying to do?" His words came out in a torrent, his anger kept boiling as he struggled to contain his emotions. A crimson hue tainted his eyes, a harbinger of the beast within.
As fear gripped me, I attempted to withdraw my hand, but Morgan's grasp was like a vice, unrelenting and unforgiving. "You don't remember?" he roared, his frustration boiling over. With a savage force, he slammed my hand against the wall, eliciting a cry of pain from me.
"It hurts!" I exclaimed, tears stinging my eyes as agony radiated through my hand.
But Morgan's rage remained unchecked, his fury untempered by reason. "Why are you asking for my help? What are you trying to do?" he demanded, his voice laced with bitterness.
"What about you? What are you really trying to do?" I implored, my voice trembling with fear and confusion. With a final, brutal shove, he released my hand, storming out of the bathroom without a backward glance.
Left alone in the suffocating silence, I sank to the floor, my heart heavy with uncertainty. The water from the closet, left running earlier, spilled onto the ground, forming a small pool at my feet. Fear gnawed at my insides as I struggled to make sense of the chaos that surrounded me.
What was Morgan hiding? And why was I at the center of his wrath? Thought Annie asked me to find him because he's the one that can help me, so why is he behaving as if he wants me dead instead? I was just confused.

Entering the room with a sense of urgency, I made a beeline for the safe nestled in the corner. With practiced precision, I spun the dial and swung the door open, revealing an array of phones nestled within. My fingers hovered over the devices, uncertainty gnawing at my resolve. Selecting one at random, I hesitated before dropping it back into the safe, my thoughts consumed by the mysterious caller.
Just as I moved to close the safe, the unmistakable ring of one of the phones pierced the air. Heart pounding, I snatched it up, noting the display: Private Number. With a mixture of apprehension and curiosity, I brought the phone to my ear, bracing myself for the voice on the other end. "Hello?" I gently say.
"That was fast," the voice remarked, a hint of amusement lacing the words. "Who is this?" I demanded, my grip tightening on the phone. "You're hurting my feelings," the voice chided playfully. "Did you forget my voice already? We just met yesterday."
Recognition dawned upon me like a bolt of lightning. Black Soul. The memory of his fangs sinking into my neck yesterday flooded my mind, sending shivers down my spine. Across the line, Black Soul surveyed his reflection in the mirror of his opulent mansion, his demeanor oozing with arrogance.
"We have a lot to talk about," he continued, his tone dripping with anticipation. "Why don't we meet?" He asked but I offered no response, simply ending the call and tossing the phone aside.
Unbeknownst to me, David had been eavesdropping on my conversation, a half-eaten burger in hand. Startled by my sudden appearance, he stumbled backward, landing unceremoniously on the ground. With a sigh, I tossed him the key to the room where my captive Annabelle was held, issuing a terse command.
"Keep a close eye on her. Don't let her out, and don't speak to her." Without waiting for a reply, I turned to leave.
"Why not?" David called after me, confusion etched on his features. I shot him a stern glance, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. "You said you want to stay here right? Do as I say," I commanded, my voice brooking no argument. With that, I turned on my heel and made my way out of the room, David trailing behind me like a hesitant shadow.
As we walked, David couldn't suppress his mounting curiosity. "Can't you at least tell me why you're locking her up because my conscience can't take it?" he implored, his voice tinged with a hint of guilt. "It seems wrong, and you might not believe it, but I do go to church on weekends."
I came to an abrupt halt, my brow furrowing in exasperation. "She killed my family," I confessed, the weight of my words hanging heavy in the air.
David's eyes widened in shock, his voice rising in disbelief. "She's a murderer?" he exclaimed, struggling to comprehend the gravity of the situation. "Bro! Where are you going?"
I offered no response, my silence speaking volumes as I continued on my path, leaving David to continue shouting in confusion.
Stepping outside, I slipped into my car, the familiar hum of the engine filling the silence as I drive to the streets toward the address Black Soul had provided. With a sense of foreboding gnawing at my insides, I unfastened my seatbelt and steeled myself for what lay ahead.
Arriving at the designated location, before I emerged from the car, I took my small sword in my car and concealed it inside my pocket . With practiced precision, I adjusted my suit, buttoning it up to project an air of composure and control.
The building before me exuded an aura of opulence and grandeur, its lavish facade beckoning me forward. I stepped out of the car and the security of that grand building came to drive my car to the safe spot. As I approached the entrance, the doors swung open of their own accord, granting me passage into the heart of where Black Soul's is.
Inside, the ambiance was both eerie and captivating, with flickering candlelight casting dancing shadows across the exquisitely adorned interior. My senses tingled with anticipation as I made my way through the labyrinthine corridors, guided by an unseen force toward my elusive quarry.
A waiter appeared at my side, bowing respectfully as he welcomed me to the premises. I acknowledged his gesture with a nod, my focus unwavering as I pressed onward, determined to confront Black Soul and know the reason he wanted to see me.
Meanwhile, in the depths of the building, Black Soul indulged in a macabre feast, his crimson lips stained with the essence of life as he savored each sip of blood and morsel of raw meat in front of him.
