Chapter 119
Chapter 119
While speaking, Debra had already secretly slipped Barry's invitation into her handbag.
She walked to the reception desk and handed over the invitation.
Barry, standing behind her, found the invitation familiar and was about to step forward to ask, when suddenly someone called out to him.
"Miss, this way please."
A staff member led Debra into the venue. A triumphant smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
Then, Ophelia's voice came through her Bluetooth earpiece.
"Don't celebrate too soon. The real test is still ahead."
Debra had just smiled and was about to speak when, unexpectedly, she froze the next second.
Noticing the silence from the other end, Ophelia grew curious. "What's wrong?"
After quite a while, Debra's voice finally came through again. "I just saw Blake. He's with the Schmidts right now, seems to be talking about something."
Ophelia fell silent for a moment.
Blake had met Debra before. If they ran into each other, something would definitely go wrong.
"Find somewhere to hide, quick."
"It's too late." After saying this, Debra went silent.
Ophelia removed her earpiece. Isla's voice came from outside the door.
"Ms. Hayes, dinner's ready."
Ophelia thought for a moment and put on her clothes. "Isla, I'm going out for a bit at noon. Don't tell Blake."
Isla was very worried, but she knew her advice wouldn't help. "Ms. Hayes, no matter what, please be careful."
"Don't worry, Isla."
Ophelia arrived at the venue. Just one glance from afar had already caught the security guards' attention.
She went alone to a nearby alley and opened the laptop she carried with her.
After some operations on the computer, the power went out in the adjacent building.
The entire venue plunged into darkness.
Everyone was shocked.
"What happened?"
"How did the power go out? Get the hotel manager."
"Go find someone, quick."
At the same time, Ophelia quickly closed her laptop, stuffed it into her backpack, and rushed into the lobby from the back of the hotel.
As soon as she entered, she ran into two staff members walking toward her.
She quickly retreated behind a wall, pressing her body tightly against it.
"Ophelia, are you here? Blake's been watching me the whole time. I can't move at all," Debra said.
Ophelia acknowledged and quickly disconnected the Bluetooth earpiece.
Seeing that the two servers had left, she hacked the surveillance camera at the corner and headed straight to the second floor.
The second floor had a long corridor with various rooms on both sides.
Ophelia randomly pushed open a door and was stunned by what she saw.
The decor here was extremely luxurious, even more refined than a high-end clothing boutique.
As she looked around, a woman suddenly appeared behind her.
The woman was dressed in an evening gown with very delicate features.
The moment she saw Ophelia, she was terrified. "Who are you? Why are you in this room?"
Ophelia rushed forward. Before the woman could finish speaking, Ophelia knocked her out completely.
Then, Ophelia skillfully dragged the person to the back. Fortunately, there was no one else.
After Ophelia handled everything, she randomly changed into the most inconspicuous dress in the room, then altered it until it looked nothing like the original. Looking at her completely transformed self in the mirror, Ophelia showed a satisfied smile.
She lifted her skirt, hung the laptop at her waist, then let the skirt fall back down.
Just as she was about to leave, her peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of a small wooden box on a nearby table.
This wooden box seemed to have some magical power, compelling her to open it.
Ophelia had planned to leave, but after walking a few steps, she turned back to the box and reached out to take it with her.
Ophelia came downstairs, slowly descending the staircase.
A beam of light happened to shine over, and instantly, Ophelia became the center of attention.
Ophelia felt slightly surprised inside, but maintained a relatively calm expression on her face.
Just as she was about to reach the bottom, suddenly someone pointed at Ophelia and laughed.
"Is this the Schmidt family's heiress?"
At this moment, even the Schmidts were stunned.
However, they were shocked not because someone was impersonating their Schmidt family daughter.
But rather, this person was really... so...
The Schmidt family members exchanged glances. The eldest son, Zander Schmidt, looked at Blake and showed a polite smile. "I'm terribly sorry, but I need to leave now to handle something. Please forgive me, Mr. Weston."
Blake's attention was also entirely on Ophelia at this moment.
"How could she appear here?" Blake looked at Debra sitting across from him. Debra also looked shocked.
While he was distracted, Zander had already walked up to Ophelia.
By now, Ophelia had reached the last step. He extended his hand and politely helped Ophelia down.
"Miss, hello. Nice to meet you. I'm Zander Schmidt."
"May I ask who you are..."
Ophelia looked at his extended hand. Although she felt many eyes on her at the same time, she still reached out and placed her hand on Zander's. "Hello, nice to meet you. I'm..."
"She's my date." Blake's voice suddenly interrupted. Both Zander and Ophelia were startled.
They looked at Blake simultaneously, while Blake squinted his eyes, staring intently at Ophelia. "Aren't you coming over?"
Ophelia secretly clenched her fist, but suddenly realized that if she denied it now, it would definitely make the Schmidts suspicious.
Just as Ophelia turned around and walked toward Blake, she suddenly felt someone grab her arm.
"What?" Ophelia looked back in surprise, only to see Zander looking at her with great excitement.
"You, could you be..."
Ophelia didn't understand what Zander meant. The next second, she was already pulled over by Blake.
"What are you waiting for?"
Zander looked at his empty hand, feeling lost. His eyes looking at Blake were very complicated. "Mr. Weston, may I have a few words alone with this Miss?"
Blake didn't answer directly, but looked at Ophelia instead. "What do you think?"
Ophelia looked at Zander, genuinely curious about why he was so excited and what exactly he had just seen.
However, she was currently carrying the box she had just taken from upstairs at her waist. This wasn't a good time for conversation.
"That won't be necessary. I don't know you, Mr. Schmidt, so there doesn't seem to be anything to talk about." As soon as she said this, everyone was in an uproar.
What a great opportunity this was.
To have close contact with the Schmidt family's son, and this woman openly gave it up.
How ungrateful!
Many people at the scene immediately looked at Ophelia differently, as if wanting to take her place.
Ophelia's choice made Blake smile slightly.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Schmidt. My date doesn't seem too willing."
Zander forced a smile.
